“Cindy was so communicative and responsive! Kobe loved going to daycare with her and it was a relief to leave him in good hands on such a short notice. He comes back home tired and happy.”

“Harper - thank you so much for hosting Alonzo these last two days! I know when he was so excited to see you on the second day that you took such good care of him and he had a great time! I really appreciate you looking after him so well and all of the pictures and videos you sent me throughout the day. We will for sure come back to you any time we’re in San Jose and I’ll recommend you to anyone here! Thanks again!!! Mikah and Alonzo”

“She was incredibly patient and caring with my puppy. Since he hasn’t completed all of his vaccinations yet, she was able to accommodate him by only watching one dog at a time, which gave me great peace of mind. She regularly sent me photos and updates, so I always knew how he was doing. She also helped with his potty training and was very attentive to his needs. I could tell she genuinely cared about him and treated him like her own. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and responsible dog sitter! I will definitely rebook her if needed in the future! Thanks Yan!”

“Tatiana is a nice, sweet, and pleasant lady. She welcomed us even though I was late for a scheduled drop off time. She answered my questions right away and I understood how she spent her day with Tatiana’s care. She took my dog out to the park and walked her around the park. I know my dog enjoyed staying with her because she seemed tired when I picked her up and went to sleep right after we got home.”

“Seri came back happy and calm, Mikaela did a great job! Especially with Seri being an anxious dog, it was great that she looked so relaxed in the pictures. Thank you to Mikaela!”

About: I have experiences with Senior care and basic training for puppies. I watch their body languages carefully to know when to pause a play and what they need from me :) Leia and I usually go for a walk in the morning, around 5 in the afternoon and quick bathroom break before going to bed. I work from home most of the time so id love to help to care for another dog so they’re not depressed alone at home whole the parents are off to earn money for their their pawbills 😝 I help to care for friends dogs when they need and I feed them together but separately so they don’t get food aggressive. I also monitor toys so it doesn’t create fights. Because I have Leia, I know the struggle and guilt feelings when you have vacation planned and need to leave the pup. I try my best to give lots of updates and pics so the humans can enjoy their time away as well.
“Our first time leaving our pup with Shuvashna. She was wonderful! I was worried at first but she kept us updated on how he was doing throughout the day. I felt confident and comfortable to know he was doing ok and was being taken care off. He seemed like he had fun and was tired of playing all day.”

“Natalia is a great care giver to my dog. She walked my dog for a long time which my dog loved and enjoyed accompanying to my dog. I’ll ask her again. I would appreciate more pics if I could ask. Overall, she is great.”

About: With over 16 years of experience in veterinary medicine and a lifetime of loving and caring for animals, I bring professional knowledge and genuine compassion to every pet I care for. My background includes veterinary assisting, client education, hospital management, and working alongside veterinarians to provide exceptional patient care. I have experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages, breeds, and temperaments, including puppies, kittens, seniors, and pets with medical conditions or special needs. I am comfortable administering oral medications, monitoring behavior for signs of illness, following detailed care instructions, and maintaining daily routines. I understand that every pet has a unique personality, and I take the time to build trust, provide enrichment, and ensure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. My goal is to give pet parents complete peace of mind knowing their furry family member is receiving experienced, attentive, and compassionate care. Pet care has always been a natural part of my life, both personally and professionally. I intentionally schedule my time so I can provide reliable, unhurried care and give each pet the individual attention they deserve. Whether your pet needs a quick potty break, an extended walk, overnight companionship, medication administration, or simply someone to spend quality time with them, I am committed to maintaining their normal routine. I understand that consistency helps pets feel secure, and I pride myself on being dependable, punctual, and flexible whenever possible to meet the needs of both pets and their families. Your pet’s health, safety, and happiness are always my highest priorities. My veterinary background allows me to recognize subtle changes in behavior, appetite, mobility, or overall health that others may overlook. I carefully follow all feeding instructions, medication schedules, exercise requirements, and household routines exactly as requested. When caring for pets in your home, I treat your home with the same respect I would my own while creating a calm, low-stress environment for your pet. I use secure leashes and harnesses during walks, supervise outdoor time, monitor interactions with other animals, and provide plenty of affection, playtime, and enrichment. I also believe communication is key, so you’ll receive regular updates and photos, allowing you to relax knowing your beloved companion is in experienced, caring hands.
About: I have a spacious backyard, no pets of my own, and the time to give each dog plenty of attention. I have experience with dogs of different personalities and energy levels and enjoy keeping them active with walks, playtime, and plenty of backyard time. I’m also big on communication and will keep you updated with photos and messages throughout their stay. My goal is for your dog to feel comfortable, safe, and at home while you’re away. I work from home with occasional office visits, so I’m around the house most of the day and can give your pup plenty of attention. My schedule is pretty flexible, with time for walks, backyard play, and regular breaks throughout the day. I’ll make sure their routine stays consistent while you’re away, with plenty of time for naps, playtime, and lounging. I keep my home clean, calm, and dog-friendly, with a spacious backyard for safe play and fresh air. I’m attentive to each dog’s routine, personality, and comfort level, and I never assume every dog needs the same type of care. I’m also careful about introductions, feeding, doors and gates, and keeping dogs supervised when needed. I’ll follow your instructions closely and keep you updated throughout their stay with photos and messages. Most importantly, I want you to feel confident that your dog is safe, comfortable, and well cared for while they’re with me.
“Monte spent the day in the care of Siu Kei. He was wonderful! There is an awesome outdoor space and Siu Kei provided pictures throughout the day- in one of which Monte was snuggled at his feet. Thank you for taking great care of our little man!”

“We’re so happy we found Pamela! From our very first interaction, we had such a good feeling about her. Rex is a sensitive boy with separation anxiety, so we’re always a little nervous leaving him with someone new. But throughout his stay, we felt like he was in really good hands. Pamela sent us photo updates, which we absolutely loved, and it was so reassuring to see Rex having a good time. She was also incredibly flexible and accommodating, which we really appreciated. When we picked Rex up, he was calm, happy, and not stressed at all. We’ve already booked several more stays with Pamela and are so glad we found someone we feel comfortable leaving Rex with. Highly recommend!! You’ll love her… but please don’t steal all of Rex’s future bookings! Haha 😂”

About: Dogs have been part of my life for almost as long as I can remember. I grew up with dogs, and my parents bred and showed Dobermans, so I was surrounded from an early age by thoughtful, consistent dog care and training. With only a few gaps during college and early adulthood, I've had a dog by my side throughout my entire life. I'm currently a dog owner myself, and my dog is very much part of my everyday life. That's also how I approach boarding. Rather than caring for a large group of dogs, I prefer to host one guest at a time so they can settle into our household and receive plenty of individual attention, companionship, walks, play, and affection. I'm home much of the day, so a visiting dog isn't routinely left alone for long stretches. I believe dogs respond best to patience, consistency, clear boundaries, positive interaction, and lots of affection. I also know every dog has its own personality, habits, and comfort level, so I want to learn what makes your dog feel safe and at home. My goal is simple: while you're away, your dog gets to live as a beloved member of the household rather than feeling like they're being sent away to boarding. I work primarily from home, and my own dog is already my near-constant companion, so caring for another dog fits very naturally into my daily life. When I board a dog, my intention is for them to join our household and our routine rather than spend long stretches of the day alone. That means plenty of companionship, regular walks and outdoor time, play, relaxation, and, when it's appropriate for the individual dog, coming along with us on dog-friendly outings. I take my own dog with me frequently and am happy to do the same with a guest who enjoys it. Most importantly, I adjust the routine to the dog. Some dogs love being out and about; others are happiest relaxing somewhere familiar and quiet. During their stay, I pay attention to what makes them comfortable and adapt accordingly. I want each dog in my care to feel safe, included, and genuinely at home while their family is away. Safety starts with making sure a dog is a good fit for our home. Before a first stay, I prefer to meet with you and your dog and introduce them to my dog so we can make sure everyone is comfortable together. I strive to understand your dog's normal routine, personality, feeding and walking schedule, house rules, medications or special needs, and anything that makes them anxious, excited, or especially happy. I follow your instructions and try to keep familiar routines consistent while adapting to what I observe during the stay. I host only one guest dog at a time, which allows me to give them plenty of individual attention and closely monitor how they're settling in. I use leashes and secure handling outdoors, keep food and other potential sources of conflict managed carefully, and never assume that two dogs who get along well don't still need thoughtful supervision. Most importantly, I pay attention. Dogs communicate constantly through their behavior, and I want to notice when a guest is relaxed, uncomfortable, tired, excited, or needs something different. My goal is to provide a safe, calm home where your dog can become part of the family while they're in my care.
“My first time booking with Angela and Josh, they seem experienced and have a great backyard setup with plenty of space, sun, shade, good fencing. Flexible for drop off and pickups. I can see they are very attentive to their canine guests.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Cherryland
We had such a wonderful experience with Shuvashna watching our 4.5 month puppy! She was an amazing communicator and kept us updated throughout the day with plenty of photos and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind. I especially appreciated how thorough she was in sharing updates about Bernie’s potty breaks, behavior, and how he interacted with the other pups. Her yard is also fantastic—Bernie had plenty of space to run around, play, and get his energy out. It was clear that he was happy, comfortable, and well cared for the entire time. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and would 100% rebook with her! Highly recommend! 🐶❤️

I couldn’t be more impressed with Brenda. You can tell she really cares about the dogs in her care! My pup has been going through some medical issues & Brenda was so kind & supportive with him. I got pictures & videos throughout the day which I love! I’d definitely book again. 🤍

Cinnamon stayed with Siu Kei for a last-minute booking, and I really appreciated how accommodating he was. Drop-off and pick-up were easy, and he had a bed, crate, and water station ready for her when we arrived. I also received an initial update with photos shortly after she settled in, which was reassuring. If I had one small suggestion, it would just be a couple more updates throughout the stay or a quick recap at pick-up, as it's always nice to hear how your pup's day went. Other than that, everything went smoothly, and Cinnamon seemed happy and comfortable. We'd definitely recommend Siu Kei and would consider booking with him again!

Taty and Lenin are amazing sitters for Oreo. They are kind, communicative, & keep him active so when I’m home from work, he’s happy and calm. They’ve been very mindful of what he eats, walking him, training, as well as trying to get him to be less scared of.. well.. everything! 😅 I began booking them everyday in at work to ensure Oreo is well loved. I highly recommend these two wonderful human beings for anyone’s fur baby.

I had a great experience with Yonkyu through Doddy Care. Yonkyu was incredibly attentive, reliable, and genuinely caring throughout the entire time. Their professionalism stood out right away -they were punctual, well-prepared, and made sure to understand specific needs. What really impressed me was their patience and warmth. Yonkyu created a comfortable and positive environment, which made a big difference. I would absolutely recommend Yonkyu to anyone looking for dependable and compassionate care! PS: Piku used to be super excited to meet Yonkyu everyday

Jenna is amazing. We left our little Frankie there for a few hours today, our first time leaving him with anyone. We received photos and a video while we were away. He even started to whimper as we buckled him in to the truck as we left her house. We will definitely be using Jenna’s care again. She has experience with animals who need extra TLC so after our little guys hip surgery we will be leaning on her for some extra help! Highly recommend!!!

Harper and Leo were amazing! They took care of my dog last minute while my husband and I went to a hockey game, and it gave us so much peace of mind. Knowing our dog was in a safe and caring place made it so much easier for us to enjoy our night. If you’re looking for a trustworthy and loving place for your pup in San José, this is definitely a great option. Highly recommend!

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
