Latasha was wonderful! From the beginning she came for a meet and greet and got down on the floor with my Percy! She asked very specific questions about his routine and wanted to ensure he was as comfortable as possible. During her stay she was very interactive with Percy. Took him on outings and walks and made sure he had plenty of play time and attention. On a night of a storm she let Percy sleep in bed with her to help comfort him!! Any concerns she had she messaged me immediately. She was great about sending updates and pictures to make sure I felt he was in good hands which definitely decreased my worries. Latasha treated my home with respect and left my home just as she found it. She even helped me with my newly planted garden to ensure it stayed watered while I was away. I will definitely use Latasha again in the future.

I was super hesitant to have a sitter in house for my pup because I was scared of my house being a wreck when I came back. Thankfully, this fear did not come true with Mary as a sitter. They were clean and kept my apartment how I left it… if not better. They sent me quite a few update pictures of my pup, and just regular updates in general. They also made sure my pup was okay with plenty of water in the time it was going to take me to get home after they left. Your pup will be in good hands with Mary!

Alex and his wife Cristina were fantastic. Very nice people who from the first moment, you knew they loved animals. We were very apprehensive about leaving our 2 puppy mill mamas that we rescued just 3 months ago for a week but Alex & Cristina made us feel very comfortable. They sent updates every day, including pictures. The girls were looking for them when we got home. They watched the girls in our home and we came home to a house in the same condition we left it in. We have already set up a time to use them again at the end of the month.

Asia is a wonderful sitter. She kept Cooper for an extended period for me and was very flexible with scheduling. She has extensive experience with dogs and can read cues and knows how to give them space if needed, especially for my anxious pup. I came home to a clean house and living plants too :) I will definitely be rebooking with Asia when I can in the future. Thank you so much!

About: Hi! I’m Erin, and I’m currently accepting new pet sitting clients in the St. Louis area. I work at Saint Louis University and also work part-time as a caregiver, so being dependable, responsible, and communicative is a huge part of my everyday life. I’m a lifelong dog owner and currently have a Lab mix of my own, so I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes and energy levels. I offer drop-in visits, dog walking, feeding, potty breaks, medication administration (oral medications), playtime, and overnight pet sitting. I provide regular photo and text updates so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands. Unfortunately, I’m allergic to cats, so I’m only accepting dog and other non-cat household pet clients at this time. If you’re looking for someone reliable who will care for your dog like family, I’d love to connect. Feel free to message me with your location, dates, and what services you’re looking for. I currently have a full time role at SLU that offers remote days and flexible hours. I am able to adjust my schedule to manage both. I am very comfortable working with larger energetic dogs and those who may be a bit more timid. My family dog is a bull mastiff boxer mix who can run around for hours on end and my dog is an anxious couch potato through and through.

About: I’ve loved caring for animals for as long as I can remember. I started helping take care of my family dog at age seven, and over the years my experience has grown to include a wide variety of pets, from chickens and tortoises to rabbits. Each has taught me something different about patience, attentiveness, and individualized care. I currently have two cats of my own, so I’m very familiar with the day-to-day needs, personalities, and quirks that come with feline care. What sets me apart is the combination of this lifelong, hands-on experience and my medical training. As a medical student, I bring a strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and comfort with administering medications when needed. I’m very attentive to subtle changes in behavior, appetite, or energy, and I understand how important it is to follow care instructions closely. I also have experience caring for senior pets. I had a cat who lived to 20+, so I understand the extra patience, gentleness, and consistency older animals need. Whether your pet is young and energetic or requires a slower, more thoughtful approach, I strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for at all times! I’m currently in my fourth year of medical school and have completed my core clinical rotations, which gives me a lot of flexibility and free time. I can easily accommodate regular visits, walks, or extended care throughout the week, and I’m happy to work with your schedule to ensure your pet’s needs are consistently met. I understand how important companionship and routine are for pets, and I prioritize creating a safe, comfortable environment whether in my home or yours. I use Rover myself to ensure my cats stay happy and cared for when I’m away, so I know what it’s like to provide peace of mind for both pets and their owners. I follow all instructions closely, supervise playtime, and make sure each pet feels secure and loved.

Gemma took great care of both of our large dogs. She stayed at our house for two nights, played with the pups until they were wore out and gave us frequent pupdates. She also cares for other animals as she took care of our conure. She left the house spotless and was very pleasant to deal with.

Colleen stood out immediately from other caregivers because of her focus on details and learning everything necessary to provide the best care for our dogs during her pre stay visit. She asked many thorough questions and took faithful notes about our pups many needed medications, special diet, health conditions and outdoor routines. We could tell how important it was to her that our dogs receive the right amount of attention and the least possible disruption during our absence. Because our dogs are seniors and may react if left alone for too long, she cheerfully arranged her schedule to stay throughout the day and overnight. Colleen also asked about our home, any expected visitors, watering of plants, how we wanted the mail and packages handled, along with any areas the pups were not allowed. She made sure she had our vet's information, along with a nearby neighbor she could call if needed. Colleen also sent many pictures and videos so we could see for ourselves that they were having a good time and in good hands. Her professionalism gave us the confidence and comfort level to enjoy our time away from home. As a welcome bonus, linens were washed, dried and dishwasher had been run. If any of these things are important to you then we would strongly recommend you consider hiring Colleen.

Bri was so easy to work with! She was communicative, reliable, and our pets absolutely adored her. We were able to enjoy our vacation because we felt so comfortable with her taking care of things for us. Our pets have never been less stressed out while we were away; they were immediately comfortable with her which says a lot (small neurotic dog and finicky cat). We're so thrilled to have found her.

FAQs for House Sitting - Castle Point

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Castle Point on Rover is $27.75 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 1,686 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Castle Point. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Castle Point walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Castle Point maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Castle Point choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Castle Point. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
