“!! ☆☆☆☆☆ !! Jaime helped me out last minute (about 3 days or so before my flight) with drop in visits for my 2 parakeets and my sugar glider, all animals that I didn't have a chance to have her meet nor time for me to give her a spare copy house key before I left! I was nervous letting a stranger into my home without meeting her first but since I have cameras and it was last min, I had no other choice. Thankfully, I had absolutely ZERO reason to worry!!! Jaime took great care of my lil monsters and was incredibly respectful towards my home! I don't live in Illinois anymore but HIGHLY RECOMMEND Jaime! You won't be disappointed!”
“Alyssa was wonderful! Communicated promptly when we were setting up the meet and greet, and I could tell she was a good fit for us when she came over and our cat was immediately at ease with her. Loved her daily updates! She exceeds expectations, and we came home to a happy cat ?”

“Jessica and Luis are ah-mazing!! I reached it to them on short notice and they were still willing to meet with me and car for my 2 cats while I visited some friends for the weekend. It was my first time using a pet sitter so I was a little nervous but they made me feel at ease leaving Smokey and Pippa for a few days. They sent pictures and texted updates after each visit. Highly recommend them and will not hesitate to book with them again!”

“Dorothy was great to work with! She was very communicative with her visits, and our cat was happy to see her when she stopped by. We came to a well taken care of home and kitty 😊 Would recommend and book with her again!”

“We had a last minute long day trip and Jessica was happy to help us out on short notice. She was great at communicating with us and we appreciated her spending time with our senior dog! Baylee loved her!”

“Rachael is an excellent pet sitter! She was always very punctual and thorough with her pet care (2 cats and a dog). She was careful to follow my written instructions to keep their schedules as close to normal as possible. Her daily logs about her visits were detailed and fun to read! And lots of cute pictures! She is very sweet and kind and I would not hesitate to ask for her help again!”

“I appreciate Katelynn's flexibility with agreeing to take on my request last minute. She always sent plenty of check in pictures, and it was obvious that all three of the pets were being kept happy in our family's absence. Would book her again.”

“Miranda was fantastic. She stopped to meet Zelda before the scheduled walks. She kept me updated and everything went perfectly. Zelda feels comfortable with her already and they get along great. Highly recommended!”

About: I have loved animals since I could remember. I have house sat for co-workers, fostered for shelters, done many trips of volunteer animal transports, and many years of TNR. My absolute dream is to own the countries largest domestic animal rescue/ranch and have law’s passed to protect more stray/feral cats. People say it will never happen but, I don’t listen to them!! I am a nurse who has cut my hours as well as my expenses to have a more flexible schedule. I begins a patient myself almost losing my life and realized I want to do what makes med me happy. Like so many others with near death experiences!! I LOVE being a nurse but after 30 years and kids being grown - I want to do what I absolutely love now. Since I live in an apartment I can not do boarding yet, but I can follow directions and am VERY respectful of other people’s private homes/spaces. I know it is very stressful for our pets to be left home alone for extended time so I would give them as much love and attention as I am requested to (I understand not all animals appreciated being loved on!!) Your family can have peace of mind while on vacation, away for work, or tending to family crises elsewhere. One of the biggest compliments I ever received as a hospice nurse being on call was, that the other nurses never worried about their patients when they know I was on call that night/weekend. They knew I would take care of them and their families, so they could enjoy their time off!!! And I will do the same for pets because they are family too!!
“Katelyn was very friendly and attentive. She was kind enough to come and meet the dogs before our trip. There were several pictures of the dogs each day for us to see how well they were doing. She took really good care our three dogs. Our pups loved her.”

“Michael is great - we have used him a couple of times. He is very responsive when communicating and our two dogs really like him (and they aren't the easiest of dogs to sit for. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.”

About: I’ve had dogs in my life since I was born. My first dog was a 100 pound German Shepard mix, then we got a miniature border collie mix, then a hound, and now we have a one year old german shepard belgian malinois. I have helped train and take care of all of our family dogs and we take our dogs on at least 2 walks a day! I can take care of any type of dog and I will of course love every animal I take care of. I have no problem picking up poop on walks! I would love to help you take care of your Dogs! I am currently a college student at Judson University studying Architecture. I would be able to take care of your pet before 7:45am and I am available during lunch time. I am also volleyball player and practices are normally from 4-6 so I would be able to go over after that. MWF I have class from 1-5 so I wouldn’t be able to go in that time frame and my volleyball games are normally Tuesday and Thursday nights which I could go over after those. I have a fenced in yard at my house but I also have energetic dogs so I take them on walks every day twice a day. They both love to play fetch and obviously they love to go on their daily walks. I can do anything from just letting them out and throwing the ball for them to walking around the block or even a mile. I am flexible with what kind of service your pet may need!

“Samantha was great for taking care of Shelley while we went on a 4 day trip. She’s very knowledgeable on how to deal with our fur baby. We are gladly to recommend her to our friends in our neighborhood. She’s also on time to her schedule drop in visits. Thanks so much for an excellent job.”

“Khurum had great communication throughout his weekend checking in with our cat Lola. He was timely, and even spent extra time with her to try to get her to play, even though she isn't usually a toy cat. Coordination with key pickup and drop-off was also superb. We would book with Khurum again!”

Eloise was amazing with my dog and cat and I know they are in such good hands with her! I really appreciate her flexibility and attention to detail with both of my babies and their various needs. I was able to fully enjoy my time away because I knew they were well taken care of. I will absolutely be booking with her again!

Brooklyn was a real hero for me, when I needed a last minute pet sitter. I knew her from outside Rover and she knew my dogs. They warmed up to her right away and I could tell from the pictures they were happy she was there. They were fed, walked, played with and received lots of cuddles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
