About: I’ve been taking care of dogs for the last 7-8 years for my family, friends, and neighbors. They have trusted me with walking, feeding, and overall loving their furry friends! When my family first got our dog in 2020, I assisted in training him and learning how to take care of a puppy. I have also helped to take care of my roommates pet dog and cat in these last few months as well! During the summer of 2024, my dog suddenly went paralyzed and lost function of his back legs. We had to learn how to take care of him and walk him using unconventional ways, while teaching him how to learn to walk again, so I have experience with a dog who has been partially disabled (but he has regained his ability to walk and is doing great!!) I recently graduated from Miami University, Ohio with my masters degree in speech-language pathology. I just moved back to Illinois and am looking to do some dog walking and pet care/love this summer before starting a new job in the schools this upcoming August as a speech-language pathologist. I will adhere to any requests that the client has. I am willing to put them in their crates, give them treats, play with them in the yard, or go for a nice long walk with them. It really comes down to the clients preference and I will stick to their normal routine!!
“This was my first time using River, and I couldn’t be happier!! I highly recommend Madeline, she is the best!! I’ll trust no one else to take care of our dog! She goes above and beyond!!”

“Amanda is great excellent communication and dependable. It’s such a relief knowing that while I’m at work my dog birdie is getting exercise and attention. Thanks for everything Amanda”

“Ellie and Pork Chop warmed up to Jaime very quickly! She was great with them and they really enjoyed their walk with her. They are definitely looking forward to more visits.”

“Jessica was truly amazing! I will definitely trust her again with my fur baby. Thank you so much for being so kind and caring. Dakota seems so happy and well taken care of. 🙂”

“Katelyn has been a great with the boys. Communication has been excellent especially with making sure the boys are properly taken care of while I’m away. I highly recommend her if you’re wanting someone you can trust with your fur family.”

About: I’ve grown up taking care of both cats and dogs, including small and large breeds. I currently have a chocolate lab who I walk, feed, and play with every day. I also have experience caring for senior dogs and cats, and I understand the extra patience, attention, and care they may need. I love cats and am comfortable feeding them, changing litter, playing with them, and giving them lots of attention. I’m reliable, caring, and truly enjoy being around animals! I’m home from college until August 10th. I’m available all day on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8 AM–3PM for dog walking, pet sitting, and drop-in visits for both cats and dogs! I’m also available on weekends and am flexible with timing. I’m happy to work around your pet’s normal routine to make sure they feel comfortable, cared for, and safe. I’m always mindful, respectful, and responsible when caring for pets in someone else’s home. I make sure to keep a clean and safe environment, follow instructions carefully, and handle everything with care. I understand how important trust is when someone is caring for your pets and home, and I’ll always do my best to make both you and your pets feel comfortable and secure.
“Another great experience having Alyssa watch our two doggies for the weekend. Good communication, she’s on time, shared fun pics of them during the stay… super dog sitter! Thanks, Alyssa”

“So happy Jessica was available to drop in for my Golden Retriever on short notice. She fed and walked her and provided lots of photos throughout. Thanks for caring for Samantha!”

“Rachael is so sweet and so good with my shy boy! She made sure to spend time and play with his favorite toys and went above and beyond!! So grateful my boy got to spend time with her while I was gone!”

“Jamie was a great help looking after my senior pup, ensuring he got his meds on time and got outside to stretch his legs and do his business. He was a happy little pup. Will definitely reach out to her again in the future.”
“Would give a million stars to Jacqueline and Uriel if possible! My husband and I have avoided traveling for a long time because our pets have separation anxiety and are easily stressed but they absolutely loved Jacqueline and Uriel and were so happy. It was beyond the best possible experience we could have hoped for. Jacqueline and Uriel went above and beyond and sent detailed updates and tons of pictures and videos so we knew our babies were safe, healthy, and being extremely well cared for. It was such a relief and we feel a weight lifted off our shoulders having found people we can wholeheartedly trust with our pets and home.”

“I appreciate Katelynn's flexibility with agreeing to take on my request last minute. She always sent plenty of check in pictures, and it was obvious that all three of the pets were being kept happy in our family's absence. Would book her again.”

About: I've taken care of cats my whole life, and I know that each one has their own personalities. I'm patient, having taught my own cats basic commands that they generally listen to. I have experience with diabetic and senior felines as well. My experience doesn't stop with felines, though, I've cared for many kinds of animals over the years. Among them are snakes, rats, mice, hamsters, lizards, rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, fresh water fish, small birds, and dogs. I work part time, but my ultimate goal is to make pet sitting my main career. I've always preferred being around and taking care of animals. I treat animals how I'd want to be treated if i was in their paws, and same with people and their property. Always leave a place as good or better than you found it.
“Jackie was so great with our pup Ted. We set up a meet and greet beforehand and he got to feel comfortable with her before we left. She sent lots of pics and videos which made my day!! She even brought him a peanut butter filled treat. Their visits were filled with lots of playtime and a walk. Thank you so much Jackie, we look forward to having you over again soon!!”

“Audrey went above and beyond for my three babies while I was away this weekend. She is so sweet and gentle with my animals and followed all instructions perfectly. Took great pictures and spent extra time with them if she was able to. Super flexible hours and days as well. I’ll hire her any time I need a sitter in the future. Thanks so much, Aubrey!”

Eloise was amazing with my dog and cat and I know they are in such good hands with her! I really appreciate her flexibility and attention to detail with both of my babies and their various needs. I was able to fully enjoy my time away because I knew they were well taken care of. I will absolutely be booking with her again!

Jessica did an amazing job being a first time sitter for my 2 cats one of which is very shy. She sent photos and updates each day after drop in visits which made me feel so at ease while on vacation. She went above and beyond caring for my house, bringing in the mail and watering 2 flower pots. I will absolutely hire Jessica again! I wish I could give her more than 5 stars! She treated my pets as her own.

Zach did a fantastic job! I booked him to clean out for very dirty litter boxes and replace them with fresh letter. I was very impressed with his ability to get right to the work at hand, get the job done, and leave everything looking great. He was so fast, he had time to tackle one of two of the cats water fountains, which were also overdue for cleaning and refilling. My kitties will love that their favorite fountain is working again. Next time, he’ll tackle the other fountain and I have no doubt that that will be done efficiently as well. Thank you, Zach! Nice to meet you, and you’ll be number one on my call
Iryna took wonderful care of my dog during twice-daily drop-ins. She is warm, friendly, and clearly compassionate — my dog was happy and relaxed after every visit. One afternoon she was about 30 minutes late because her car broke down, but she messaged me right away and kept me updated, so it was no problem at all. I would happily book her again and recommend her to anyone looking for a caring sitter. Thank you, Iryna

We were thrilled with Karlie’s first drop-in visit today. Her kindness and attentiveness were truly remarkable. As soon as I stepped through the door, DixieBelle was bouncing up and down more than usual, and I’m certain she was expressing her immense joy and excitement about having a new friend. She can’t wait to see Karlie again.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
