Chasity was amazing! She was great about responding in a timely manner and sending me updates about how my dogs were doing. I could tell that they were in good hands upon dropping them off and I was able to enjoy my vacation without any worries about my dogs. I plan to re-use Chasity’s dog sitting services in the future!

Sarah stepped in to take last minute care of my foster dogs even though it was a big ask. They were comfortable, had fun, and she continued their "how to be a good dog in a new home" training, and they came back happy and relaxed! :)

It’s a comfort for me when my dog, Zeke, is in Sandy’s care. When I’m away I can focus on what I need to do and I don’t worry about Zeke at all. I’m very grateful for Sandy’s loving care of my little dog. She’s a very wonderful and kind person.

Ann was excellent with our Xena puppy. I couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! From the start, she was communicative and thorough with instructions on routine. Xena got to make so many friends at her pet, Ricky's b-day party while we were away. It was obvious Xena was not only well cared for, but genuinely happy and comfortable. I would absolutely trust her again and highly recommend her!

About: Hello! I’m Brooke! I absolutely love dogs (& all animals really)! I have my own dog, Puck, who I love to take to the lake, on walks and cuddle with. I have been dog sitting for 10 years and I love it. I currently do travel healthcare and I’m looking for a job on the side with my boyfriend’s help too. I can do walks, home visits, overnight sitting in your home and anything else you’d need for your furry friend. I can work with you and your schedule to try to find the perfect time to help out you and your pet. I look forward to hearing from you soon! Don’t hesitate to ask any questions to see if I’m a good fit! I work full time during the week but am free most weekends. My boyfriend also helps out and is an early bird who can do drop ins before 7am and after 5 pm. I have a patio that the dogs can sun bath on and a huge h fenced yard to let the pups run around to get some energy out.

I was very nervous leaving my dog for the first time in a new place. Brittany and Matt were great with Ghost, he can be a handful with his anxiety and they were patient and understanding. They sent updates and videos of him playing with their dog King. We will definitely use them in the future if we need a sitter.

About: I have multi-dog household experience. There has always been at least two dogs in my house growing up, they’re my favorite animals. I have a chocolate Labrador named Whiskey, and a Schnoodle named Max. My chihuahua sadly passed away. I love to meet and have other dogs in my house. I’m comfortable administering oral medication if needed. I’ll send daily photo updates. I’m a stay at home mom so there’s always time to care and play with our furry kids. I wake up between 6-8am and go to bed by 10pm. When I need to leave the house to run errands, I don’t take longer than 3 hours at a time, so I make sure my pets are taken outside for potty and water breaks. There is a fenced area in the back of our house, and a big open area. I can take them out on a leash if needed or crate them if they’re not house trained.

Consistently fantastic care. Our dog arrived with an injury, special food, & storm anxiety and Amber handled them all with skill and grace. She is excellent at reading a dog’s needs and then honoring those needs with personalized care. Our dog means the world to us and we always feel totally and completely comfortable leaving him in Amber’s care.

Every sitter on Rover has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.

100% of Cape Carteret sitters also include daily walks in the neighborhood during dog boarding stays. You can also request photo and message updates throughout the stay so you can see which Cape Carteret landmarks or neighborhoods your dog is enjoying.

If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Cape Carteret home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Cape Carteret.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Cape Carteret sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
