About: I have always grown up with animals and my love for them led me to a job at a pet resort. I was a kennel technician for 4 years which provided me great insight to care for all types of furry friends. I just graduated college from UNC Charlotte and home in Emerald Isle for the summer. Most days I workout and hang with my family so my schedule is pretty flexible. I always try to keep each pet’s routine as close as possible to what they’re used to because I know how stressful change can feel—especially for anxious pets. I’m patient, gentle, and attentive, and I make it my priority to provide comfort, consistency, and lots of love while they’re away from their parents.
“Murphy is a high energy, sometimes overwhelming rescue. Callie worked with him over several visits to increase his flexibility to his surroundings and teach him behavior that will help him see more of the world. Even though exercise was more the mission than behavior training, Callie was able to convey calm discipline that allowed him to tap into other training he's had. It was a great job on Callie's part connecting and teaching him. Thank you from me and Murphy!!”

I have a flexible part-time work schedule that allows me to care for your fur babies when you need me to. My schedule is built around your pet care needs. We believe every pet deserves personalized care based on their unique needs, personality, and routine. Before providing care, we take the time to learn about your pet's schedule, feeding requirements, exercise needs, medications, and any special instructions to ensure a seamless experience. For care in your home, we strive to maintain your pet's normal routine to minimize stress and keep them comfortable in their familiar environment. We provide feeding, fresh water, walks, exercise, playtime, litter box or yard maintenance, medication administration if needed, and plenty of affection and companionship. We are also happy to provide updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you're away. As a husband-and-wife team, we often work together, allowing us to provide additional attention and flexibility for your pets. Our lifelong experience with animals, including owning, training, and breeding several dog breeds, has given us the knowledge and confidence to care for pets of all ages, temperaments, and needs. We are comfortable caring for puppies, kittens, senior pets, and animals requiring special accommodations or medications. “You’re an exceptional walker. My dog gets excited when it’s time to for Robyn to come. She is tired when she gets home, but it’s the good tired. So glad we found Robyn, she is excellent.”

About: I love animals, especially dogs, more than words can express! We have always had small dogs in our family since I was born. I could never imagine living without a dog in my household. In fact I have always had my miniature schnauzers as my fur babies since my early 20’s. I also use my endless dog walks as another form of exercise especially with the awesome beach roads all over the island that we are fortunate to enjoy living on the island. Since I never had children I have extremely spoiled animals. Me and my husband are retired and I work a very part time job so have a lot of flexibility with my schedule. My husband may also like to join in with my walks as well to help keep your pooch entertained and continue with our daily exercise regimen. If your pet does not do well on long walks please mention that so we don’t wear them out too much! I would like to walk your dog on the beach or beach access if allowed. If you would rather we stay on the neighborhood streets that’s fine too! My house/pet sitting service will include feeding, playing, walking, cleaning up pet waste in yard or litter box and light housekeeping such as vacuuming up pet fur if applicable. I have a very flexible schedule. I do work a few days a week part time but only 4-5 hr shifts at a time. I would love to be your pet’s next best friend! I am an extremely anal retentive pet owner and home owner. I probably take better care of my pets than my own self! We do not miss any yearly vet appointments and are very attentive to any ailments that may come along. I always say the worst part of being a pet owner is when they have to cross the rainbow bridge.
“Vacationing. Wanted to do a 50 mile bike event. Jessica came to our house twice. I came home to a tired dog. No walk needed and I was tired. A tired dog is a good dog. Thank you Jessica.”

“Very responsive and super friendly! Suzanne saved us while on vacation to walk our dog while we were exploring the area. Our dog was very grateful for the break out of the house. Would definitely use her again when we come back.”

“I just moved to the area and was in need of an extra resource to help with my three dogs. Jason really came through in a pinch. He is professional, courteous and boy do my dogs LOVE him! I will certainly ask for his support again.”

About: Hello, pet parents! My name is Carla and I'm an experienced, loving, and dedicated pet sitter based in Emerald Isle. I've been passionate about animals ever since I was a kid and have spent the last 6 years turning that passion into a career. I've cared for animals of all shapes and sizes — from energetic puppies to mature cats, from tiny birds to sizable reptiles and everything in between. I have a special knack for understanding pets' needs and communicating with them on their level. My priority is to ensure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while their humans are away. When it comes to dogs, I'm experienced in managing various breeds, temperaments, and energy levels. I am proficient in basic training commands and am capable of handling dogs who are leash trained or harness trained. I know all the great dog parks and pet-friendly spots around the local community and I am eager to keep your furry friend exercised and socialized. For feline friends, I'm well-versed in kitty care. I understand their unique personalities and respect their space. Whether your cat loves playtime or prefers a relaxing brushing session, I can adapt to each of their specific needs. In my care, your pet's safety and well-being are my top priorities. I am committed to staying in regular communication with you, and providing frequent updates and photos so you can rest assured your pet is in the best hands. Lastly, as a professional pet sitter with Rover, I am fully insured and bonded. I offer a range of services including dog walking, drop-in visits, and house sitting. I am flexible with scheduling and will do my best to accommodate your needs. Thank you for considering me as your pet's sitter. I look forward to meeting you and your pet(s) soon! Here's a peek into my daily schedule to give you an idea of how I'll be caring for your beloved pets. **Early Morning (6:00 AM - 8:00 AM):** I start the day bright and early, ensuring your pets have a good start too. This is the time for the first walk of the day for dogs, making sure they have plenty of exercise to start their day. For cats, this is the time for feeding, litter box cleaning, and maybe a little playtime if they're up for it. **Late Morning (8:00 AM - 12:00 PM):** After a little breakfast for myself, I continue with pet duties. This includes any necessary grooming, administering medication (if applicable), and more playtime or training sessions. I'll also check in with you, sending updates and photos of your fur-babies. **Afternoon (12:00 PM - 5:00 PM):** Lunchtime! I'll ensure your pets are fed according to their dietary needs and schedule. After lunch, it's time for another walk for the dogs or some indoor playtime for pets needing more exercise. I'll also continue to monitor your pets for any signs of discomfort or stress and provide comfort as needed. **Evening (5:00 PM - 9:00 PM):** Dinner time for your pets. I'll feed them and ensure they have fresh water. After dinner, there will be time for another walk or play session. I'll also spend some time just relaxing with your pets, as I believe that bonding time is essential for their emotional well-being. **Late Evening/Night (9:00 PM - 10:00 PM):** Before I call it a day, I'll take dogs out for a last quick bathroom break, tidy up the pet areas, and make sure all pets are comfortable and ready for bed. I'll also send you an end-of-day update so you can rest easy knowing your pets are well cared for. Please note that this is a general schedule and can be adjusted to meet the specific needs of your pets. I look forward to providing the best care for your furry (or feathery or scaly) family members! I currently do petsitting in the owners home, so the pets feel comfortable in an environment they are already comfortable in.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
