About: Hey, I'm 30 and my family currently owns two large dogs. We moved to Massachusetts about a five years ago. We have two standard poodles, Ivy who’s 7 and about 50lbs and I own Felix who’s about 3 and over 50lbs. I also have a horse, and our first dog was raised by the cats we had before got dogs. Thanks to growing up with animals, then working with horses as an apprentice in Colorado for two years I appreciate the need that dogs have to get outside and get some energy out, or at least some attention so they don't decide to entertain themselves in a different way other ways. I’ve also taken care of parrots and parakeets, rats, guinea pigs, and bearded dragons. I housesat for neighbours and friends often, and occasionally their pets would be there too. I also babysat growing up and I'm still in touch with the families, watching their kids (& pets) grow up. I'll have plenty of time to play with your pups! As a pet owner, I completely understand the need to make sure your pet isn’t bored. I like to try to leave my clients home cleaner than when I arrived, my mother taught me that when I started babysitting and it stuck. Would you like me to water your plants?

I cannot say enough great things about Kate! She is amazing! My dogs love her, she accommodates my crazy ever changing schedule, she sends videos and pictures in addition to the Rover cards, and I know she treats my Wolfe & Belle like she would her own dog. She is absolutely fantastic and a life saver; it’s not easy being a single fur mom at work all day but Kate makes it possible and I know my pups are in good hands! Don’t hesitate, book her!

About: Hi! I’m a college student and lifelong animal lover with experience caring for dogs, small animals, and farm animals. I’ve had my Chiweenie for the past 8 years and trained her myself from puppyhood, including obedience and reliable recall. I’m comfortable with puppies, senior dogs, anxious or reactive dogs, giving medication, and caring for multiple pets at once. One of my biggest strengths is reading dog body language and adjusting my approach to each dog’s individual needs. I can be calm and gentle with nervous dogs while also providing structure and boundaries when needed. I offer walks, drop-in visits, house sitting, boarding, and daycare. For boarding, visiting dogs can be kept completely separate from my own dog for everyone’s comfort and safety. I also have years of customer service experience, so you can count on clear communication, regular updates, and lots of photos. I’d love the opportunity to get to know your pet and provide them with safe, reliable care. Pet care is already a part of my daily routine. As a college student with a flexible schedule, I am able to dedicate time each day to walks, feeding, enrichment, playtime, and companionship. I live an active lifestyle and regularly go on long walks, hikes, and runs, so I am comfortable keeping up with high-energy dogs that need extra exercise. I work to maintain each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible so they feel comfortable and secure while in my care. My goal is to make sure every pet receives plenty of attention, activity, and individualized care. Safety is my top priority when caring for any pet. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and individual needs so I can provide care that helps them feel comfortable and secure. I have experience with puppies, anxious dogs, and reactive dogs, and I pay close attention to body language to help prevent stressful situations before they happen. In my home, visiting dogs can be kept completely separate from my own dog if needed. Outdoor time is always supervised, and I use secure leashes and long lines when appropriate. I also provide regular updates and photos so owners can feel confident their pets are safe, happy, and well cared for.

About: Hey, thanks for checking out my profile. I’d like to start by introducing myself, my name is Tina and I’m a passionate caretaker who has 20 years of pet care experience. Since the age of 6 I’ve been caring for dogs and cats we had them in our home growing up as well as two parakeets. I pride myself in offering comprehensive services for furry companions and a loving environment for your pet to thrive. I’m skilled in dog walking, pet sitting over night or during the day, drop ins, grooming, and caring for senior dogs and cats. Also comfortable administering medications and taking animals to veterinary appointments. I’m dedicated to providing a quiet, peaceful and loving, safe environment tailored to each pet's needs. Im a trustworthy choice for pet owners seeking attentive, personalized care for each pet all dogs and cats are different and I’m pretty flexible in making sure I meet the needs of every individualized pet. I also take all kinds of requests depending on what your fur friend specifically needs. Also if transporting a pet is a concern or tough for whatever reason don’t worry because I can help with that as well if necessary. Im currently working full time as a train driver in the community locally. My days are quite flexible because I work only 5 minutes from home and I’m usually not away from the house on work days for more than 7 hours at a time. I’m off Tuesdays Wednesday and I have full availability during those days and early afternoons and evenings the other days because my shift sometimes ends at 1240pm. I also have some availability on the weekends after 2pm. The environment plays a vital role in the moods and well being of animals. I live in Arlington ma and it’s very very peaceful and quiet here and in my home. My home is clean and pet proof safe with gates sectioning each part of every room. Huge living room and open space for play and a gated closed off private backyard for outdoor play.

About: I’ve walked/sat for dogs since I was a kid. I’ve grown up with a dog and now have my own at the age of 25 I am in Norwood living with my partner and looking for work, I decided to put a profile together and take care of pets to earn some money in the mean time. They’re allowed all the free play space in the open living area. Lots of space to run around. We’re close to a field for fetch and walks and I am more than happy to drive to a fenced in dog park. I have a vehicle and can drive to your home as well to hang out in the pets home if need be. I trained my dog by myself she is very responsible. She is energetic but kind and cuddly. She knows how to sit, come, stay, play dead, sit pretty, give paw, and loves fetch

I enjoy being around animals very much they bring me such joy. Everyone calls me the pet whisperer because every animal I meet just loves me and I love them. I’m always helping my friends and neighbors when they need there animals taken care of while they are away. I have just currently quit my job of 21 years and wanted to do something that would make me happy on a daily basis so I decided to start taking care of animals when people need it. About: I’ve always had dogs and cats. Now I live in a small townhome with not enough space for a dog. I need some dog-walks to keep life exciting. For morning services, the earlier the better. For evenings, after 4 is best. 8am to 4pm availability on weekdays varies by day so it’s ok to reach out if you want to ask about a specific time. In addition to dog walks, I’m happy to do drop-in visits for any pet, including fish, who needs it or any plant that needs watering, mail brought inside, lights on and off, and so on, even if your car needs starting every few days during an extended out-of-town, or taps turned on and off when temps are that low. Making sure all pets have water available for them, whether they’re inside or outside, is part of every service. Snacks during the walk if requested and any medications that need administering at the time of the walk. Further clarification about pricing* *Meals, brushing, playtime fall under drop-in visit (for example, if both walk and feeding are requested, you will need to select walk and also select drop-in visit). *Cat care (or other inside pet) drop-in visit includes, food (including special diets), water, playtime, litter box scooping, and refill when needed, any medications needed, and brushing if requested. Free pet hugs available as needed during all visits! I love birds, big ones and small ones, I have extended experience with small parrots, not much with large but would love to learn! I’m happy to feed the fish and, if you have one, run the magnetic algae cleaner over the glass, but no other tank cleaning (gravel, plants, filters), and no timer or temperature adjustments, but I will let you know if something is concerning. *A half hour drop-in charge will be added for the clean up of any accidents that occur prior to my arriving. I will not leave a pet in an unsanitary condition - for example, a puppy in a training kennel will not be returned to the kennel if an accident needs to be cleaned up. I can *put the dog in another area (no additional charge) or *clean the kennel (additional charge will be added, but I will contact you first) and return the pet to the kennel before I leave. *I will contact you first about what you’d like me to do. I’m former military, familiar with work ups, deployments, TDYs, TADs, PCSes, etc. While single and then with a family, including pets. *Pricing is per pet (if 2 dogs are to be walked, you will need to select a walk service for 2 dogs) My cats are not allowed on kitchen counters. Some people aren’t bothered by it. Although they haven’t needed it in quite a while, my cats are also water-bottle trained. Some people are bothered by it or have other methods. You’ll have to let me know what you prefer. I don’t want to cause a pet any stress or confusion by shoo-ing him or her off of, or away from, somewhere they are allowed to be. Recently I bought microchip activated pet-feeders. They adapted quickly. It’s taking a bit longer for the food-gulper to relax his eating, but he’s definitely getting there.

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and have taken care of pets since I was 15. I love going for long walks and meeting new people and animals! I currently work remotely and have a lot of time on my hands for a hobby or job. I love dogs and pets and this is a great opportunity to do something I enjoy! I have a big back yard and love going for walks. Now that it’s getting warmer out, I’m looking forward to spending a lot more time outside!

I cannot recommend Jing highly enough! She has been caring for my dogs, Winnie and Jackson, and has been absolutely wonderful. She is reliable, consistent, and always communicates clearly, which gives me complete peace of mind when I’m away. One of my favorite things about her visits are the photos she sends. The photos she takes are incredible. I have honestly saved so many of them because they are just that good! It is obvious that she genuinely cares about the dogs and takes the time to make sure they are happy, comfortable, and well cared for. Winnie and Jackson are always excited to see her, and I know they are in great hands whenever she stops by. She is dependable, thoughtful, and truly goes above and beyond. If you are looking for someone who is trustworthy, attentive, and genuinely loves animals, I would wholeheartedly recommend Jing.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Canton stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Canton. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
