“Inna was exceptionally attentive and genuinely passionate about animals. It was clear that she truly cares for pets, and her love for animals made a big difference. She took excellent care of Teemu and I highly recommend her services to anyone in need of a reliable and caring pet sitter.”

“Renee is an incredible person, she offered our dog high quality care and kept us appraised all throughout. Thanks to her professionalism and dedication we had a peace of mind while on family vacation away, knowing our dog was so well cared for. She went above and beyond and even lent our dog a raincoat given the weather. Finally, thanks to her attention to detail we were able to get Lola diagnose with an ear infection upon our return. Renee is a gem! We 100000 % recommend her.”

“Kazuko took care of my cat, Teddy, for just over a week, and I couldn't be happier with her care of him! She was flexible and quick to set up time to come visit the home and consistently went above and beyond to ensure Teddy was cared for and the home remained clean. She was kind, and gave tons of daily photos and updates, also being proactive in suggesting and thinking about how she could make sure Teddy was having an even better time while I was away. I would certainly recommend her and will definitely be rebooking for my next trip! Thank you Kazuko!”

“Really appreciated Daphne’s care for our kitty while we were away. She was great, especially because we had to make some schedule changes at the last minute. We loved the daily photos and reports on Nanny. Would definitely book again.”

About: We are a family of 4 with a passion for dogs! We have an 14 yr old Schnoodle who is happy to have dog friends around, very calm at home in his senior years. We recently adopted a 16 yr old Cockapoo named, Buddy. He is very low energy and also happy to have new dog friends around. I'm a confident, calm & compassionate pet lover. I'm available weekdays, and evenings and weekends. Your dog will love hanging with our family, my kids are great with dogs! We have a lovely fenced backyard for your pup to roam in and are also close to many parks for ball chasing fun. We love to bike, walk & hike. Our favourite spots are Spanish Banks, Pacific Spirit, North Van and all dog friendly beaches! Expect your pup tired, sandy and happy at pick up. We're happy to provide extended stays, bathing & grooming too! My husband and I both have flexible work schedules, one of us is usually always home. Hope to hear from you soon! My husband and I both have flexible work schedules so one of us is always home in the day. If we do need to pop out we’d happily take your dog with us or leave them to roam the house or in their crate, depending on your choice. Our yard is fully fenced. The dogs are welcome to play in the yard or lay on our deck in the sun. Inside our home is very dog welcoming, we have a ‘dog couch’ and if your dog doesn’t shed they’re welcome to sleep at the end of our bed:)

“Jonathan was great with Buddy! Excellent communication. We appreciate Jonathan's positive vibe. Buddy says: "ruff, ruff" >> Translation in human language: "Mama, may I go for a walk with Jonathan again?" Yes, Buddy.”

“Violeta was a pleasure to have in our home taking care of our fur baby! She went over and beyond to make sure she was taken care of. We would absolutely book her again and welcome her into our home.”

About: I’m a pet lover with over 15 years of experience caring for a variety of animals. I’ve raised and cared for three dogs (Rio, Pepper, and Nugget), two hamsters (Jessie and Jazzie), and a saltwater aquarium (including Larry the eel, Nemo the clownfish, and Frankie the shrimp), so I’m comfortable looking after pets of all sizes, ages, and needs! I’ve been the go-to pet sitter for friends and family over the years, including puppies, senior dogs, and reactive dogs, and have always made sure they always get the attention they deserve. Your pet will be in safe, caring hands with me! I am generally available for dog walking or drop-in pet visits on weekdays after 5pm and on most weekends from late morning to late evening! A meet and greet with you and your dog at the beginning of our walk/drop-in visit will allow me to better understand the needs of your pet so I can provide the best care possible! I will follow any instructions provided, whether it’s feeding schedules, exercise preferences, or special care requirements. I make sure your dog feels secure and loved while respecting your home by keeping the space clean and tidy.
“Malak was extremely responsive and took great care of our two cats while we were away! She spent time with them, ensured they ate their food (which can be a challenge), checked in with us regularly, and took some really nice pictures of the boys to boot. It was our first time using Rover, and she made it totally painless. We would absolutely make use of her services again in the future.”

“Meagan was great! I appreciated that she kept me in the loop on any changes with our cat while we were gone. She was quick to respond when we communicated, and she had no issues with our cats needs. I would definitely hire her again in the future.”

About: Previous dog owner with some recently added time in my schedule looking for some fun part time work. I love hanging out with animals and I'm happy to walk anything else you might have including cats, reptiles, or pigs. My dog who passed away a couple years ago was a small shy little guy so I'm experienced in dealing with elderly/anxious/shy dogs, but I can also deal with the bouncy ones and big energetic dogs. I walked neighborhood pets growing up and know how to deal with dog to dog interactions in the street/park. I can provide however much attention or exercise you want for your dog and I’m happy to set up recurring schedules. Hope to be able to get into dog walking full time in the future, and have improved my know how by avidly watching “the dog whisperer” series. Can provide past references if needed.

“Cristina is so wonderful with Ranger. He is a very shy dog but immediately felt comfortable with her gentle energy! Cristina has great communication and is very dependable. We were so glad to find someone like her and look forward to using her again!”

About: **Available but on call to assist in Canada Wildfires** My whole career has been about animals since a young age. When I was 12 I volunteered as a dog trainer at my local dog club - there I trained puppies and level 1 & 2 dogs. I also spent 3 years doing track and search for the SES and a local club. I also worked at a Greyhound centre, here we rehabilitated retired racing Greyhounds so that they can enjoy a normal loving life. In 2021 I became a Veterinary Technician. I miss having a furry friend to hang out, play with, cuddle and go on walks, so please contact me if you ever need your furbaby looking after. When I’m not on call to aid in the Canadian wildfires, I am home 24/7. This allows me to give your fur baby all the love and care they need and deserve! We don't have a yard, however we live near some great parks and a forest trail, which is a beautiful work and an amazing opportunity for your dog to get optimal enrichment.

About: I feel at home working with animals. I lived with a veterinarian roommate for multiple years and had the pleasure of taking in multiple pets that needed a home and a little extra care or at home medicine. I grew up on a Dairy farm where my responsibilities included taking care of the calves and milking cows. After moving away from the farm and to the city for university and work I became the go-to friend for pet sitting since I missed having animals around. I'm currently taking a short sabbatical from the 9-5 world to make a career change. In the Fall/Winter I will be taking online classes and living close to my brother to take care of my 8 month old nephew. My schedule will be fairly flexible and I will greatly appreciate the opportunity for regular study breaks that include taking care of a pet. I love getting outside in nature as well as exploring the world and my own neighbourhood. I am happy to take your pets for walks, hikes and adventures or chill visits. I am quite comfortable with large dogs to small, friendly cats to shy.

About: I was fortunate to grow up in a family that loved and supported pets (cats and dogs). We adopted dogs from shelters and those listed online that were “free to a good home.” Because of this I was introduced to a variety of breeds of dogs, at different stages in their life, who often struggled with reactive behaviours or medical conditions that were undiagnosed in their previous homes. I understand that a dog or cat’s needs can be specific and unique, and I will always respect an owners requirements of caring for their pet - a lot of hard work goes in to training and supporting a pet, and I will always do my best to maintain consistency for that animal. I’ve been involved in end of life care for both dogs and cats and I’m comfortable giving medications, cleaning up messes, and of course, spending extra time giving snuggles or scratches when needed :) Also, I’m an ICU Nurse, and, although my job is to care for sick humans (not animals), my experience in the healthcare field will positively influence how I love and look after your furry friend! As a Registered Nurse, my schedule involves shift work that varies week to week. When I'm not at work, however, I have ample time to walk, visit, and care for your furry family member. I have flexibility within my schedule also, that can allow me to have longer stretches of time off, so I could be available for house sitting needs or daily check ins. Unfortunately my current home is not “pet friendly” which is why I would LOVE to care for your animal outside of my home and in an environment they are comfortable in. I have grown up with cats and dogs in my childhood home and am comfortable walking dogs on or off leash, on wooded trails, or in busier neighbourhoods. I understand an animals home should be it’s safe space and will adapt my approach to your pets specific needs and routines, whatever they may be!

About: Over the past year, I’ve been the full-time caregiver for my sister’s dog, looking after everything from daily walks to feeding, playtime, and lots of cuddles. I work from home, which means I can give pets plenty of attention throughout the day. I’m super active and love walking around Olympic Village, so your pup will get plenty of fresh air and exercise! I live in a spacious, pet-friendly apartment with lots of room to play and relax. Whether your dog loves adventures or just wants a cozy spot to nap, I’m here to make them feel right at home. Since I work from home, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give pets plenty of attention throughout the day. I start my mornings with a walk—usually around Olympic Village—and I love having a furry companion join me. Throughout the day, I take regular breaks for playtime, potty breaks, and short walks. Evenings usually include a longer walk or some relaxing cuddle time. Whether it’s sticking to a feeding schedule or just providing companionship, I’m able to give consistent, loving care every day. In my home, pets have plenty of space to relax and feel comfortable. I make sure they have a cozy spot to rest, fresh water available at all times, and stick to their feeding and walk schedule. I give them lots of love, attention, and playtime throughout the day. I always prioritize their safety, keeping my space clean and pet-friendly. If I’m caring for a pet in their home, I do my best to follow their usual routine so they feel secure and at ease. I pay close attention to any instructions provided and keep you updated with regular photos and messages.

Vancouver dog parents share their Rover experiences
Much thanks to Foram for making house visits for our small dog Leo. We re-booked her for a second time. Foram got along well with Leo and he was looked after on walks, fed meals, provided fresh water and a quick mini groom to keep his face, paws and tail looking good! We appreciate your service! :)

If 13 dogs already gave glowing reviews, who am I to argue? That’s the best judge of character there is. My older Frenchie and cat were immediately comfortable around Jack. He was calm, respectful, and seemed genuinely delighted to receive a thorough greeting of happy doggy hand licks. As a fiercely protective and cautious pet mama, I really appreciated how Jack asked thoughtful, specific questions about their routines and actually listened. That level of care and presence is rare, especially when it comes with a PhD and a posh British accent. It’s not every day your animals get looked after by someone this sharp and kind. I wouldn’t be surprised if they come back with better manners or a newfound love of tea.

Niamh is amazing! Great communication and professionalism. She is clearly a huge dog lover and was so great with my older Frenchie. It's often hard to find someone to care for my senior dog but I felt so comfortable having Bear is Niamh's care! Highly recommend🙌

First time using Rover and chose Charmaine based on her reviews and profile that authentically showed how much she cared about animals. Our dog had the best time and really appreciated the thorough updates and pictures/videos. Hoping Charmaine is around for the next time we are needing help for our pup!

Wendy is truly amazing! She has been caring for our little pup since he was 10weeks and my partner and I had to go back to work. Our Roo is 4 months and thriving! Wendy is attentive to his needs offering training, play, or just chill time and always send us the most adorable photos as the end of each visit. We could not be more pleased with her care of our little boy!

Wow Omar is a complete dog whisperer! I was nervous to go away as it was the first time Beans has had a baby sitter and Omar was so kind, patient and caring towards my boy Beans! I am so thankful to Omar. My dog has anxiety and Omar has really worked with him and he is out going for walks and has a new dog friend in Marshall! I couldn’t be more happier. My place looked tidier than when I left it. There was constant correspondence and I really appreciate it. I can’t say enough good things about Omar as a person and a dog sitter! 10/10 would definitely recommend!
