“Kazuko took care of my cat, Teddy, for just over a week, and I couldn't be happier with her care of him! She was flexible and quick to set up time to come visit the home and consistently went above and beyond to ensure Teddy was cared for and the home remained clean. She was kind, and gave tons of daily photos and updates, also being proactive in suggesting and thinking about how she could make sure Teddy was having an even better time while I was away. I would certainly recommend her and will definitely be rebooking for my next trip! Thank you Kazuko!”

About: *please note: discount available for services of less than 5 hours* Since I was little, I have loved animals and enjoyed spending time with friends' pets. I wanted one of my own too, and I finally accomplished that goal in August 2021 when I got Kira. Because of her, I have firsthand experience raising a puppy, a teenage dog, and now an adult. I've also taken lessons and read books to learn more about positive reinforcement training, dog body language, and fulfilling a dog's needs. Kira is four years old and loves being with other dogs. We're currently in a townhome close to many parks and the beach. And we also have two veterinary hospitals nearby in the unlikely case of an emergency. I typically work from home on Fridays so I have weekends and Fridays available to help out with your lovely pet. Depending on the day, night time visits and walks can also work. Being away from their owners can be a very stressful experience for dogs. I do my best to ease your dog's stress and go at their pace to make sure they're comfortable. Although we live in a townhome, we are conveniently located near parks, the beach, and a vet hospitals. I will check in with you beforehand which rules you use with your dog to make sure your training continues even when you're away. Kira is a great companion and is very good at keeping your dog entertained, but, I also make sure to intervene so that both dogs can get some needed rest.

“Violeta is unique and super professional. My cat and my dog had a wonderful time with her. She sends stunning photos on every single visit and keeps us updated about everything. I wish I could select 100 stars to indicate the overall rating.”

“Kate was so sweet with Bandit and very diligent about following care instructions. She also sent so many photos per visit! I came home to a very happy kitty. I would definitely hire her to catsit Bandit again!”

About: I’m a pet lover with over 15 years of experience caring for a variety of animals. I’ve raised and cared for three dogs (Rio, Pepper, and Nugget), two hamsters (Jessie and Jazzie), and a saltwater aquarium (including Larry the eel, Nemo the clownfish, and Frankie the shrimp), so I’m comfortable looking after pets of all sizes, ages, and needs! I’ve been the go-to pet sitter for friends and family over the years, including puppies, senior dogs, and reactive dogs, and have always made sure they always get the attention they deserve. Your pet will be in safe, caring hands with me! I am generally available for dog walking or drop-in pet visits on weekdays after 5pm and on most weekends from late morning to late evening! A meet and greet with you and your dog at the beginning of our walk/drop-in visit will allow me to better understand the needs of your pet so I can provide the best care possible! I will follow any instructions provided, whether it’s feeding schedules, exercise preferences, or special care requirements. I make sure your dog feels secure and loved while respecting your home by keeping the space clean and tidy.

About: Dogs have always been part of our family. With 13 years of experience caring for small breeds — inspired by my two beloved Yorkies, Kamilo and Calixto, I offer loving support through baths, feeding, playtime, first aid, medication, homemade treat baking, and relaxing massages. Caring for your pup means welcoming them as part of my own family 💜 Pet care fits perfectly into my daily life! I work in a hybrid mode as a hospitality manager, which means I have flexible hours, and my dad, who is retired and home full-time is always around to help provide extra love and attention. Your pet will always have company and care throughout the day! I live in a pet-friendly environment where pets are treated like family. I ensure they feel safe, secure, and comfortable, following their routines and providing plenty of love and attention. Whether in my home or yours, I create a space where pets can relax and enjoy their time.

About: I’ve cared for medium to large dogs for friends and family, treating every pup like my own with love, patience, playtime, and reliable, attentive care. I am currently working part-time while also in school, so I have lots of time to walk, play and care for your pets! I am available most weekends and many weekdays, especially during normal business hours, so your pup will never go without a walk! I always respect your home and follow your pet’s usual routine to keep them comfortable and stress-free. I ensure doors, gates, and crates are secure, keep feeding and potty schedules consistent, and give plenty of supervised playtime and love. I clean up after pets, leave your home tidy, and send regular updates with photos so you can feel confident they’re happy and safe while you’re away.

“Jonathan was great with Buddy! Excellent communication. We appreciate Jonathan's positive vibe. Buddy says: "ruff, ruff" >> Translation in human language: "Mama, may I go for a walk with Jonathan again?" Yes, Buddy.”

About: Rain or shine, I’m ready for walk time! 🐶☔️ With over 10 years of experience caring for dogs, I bring lots of love, patience, and energy to every walk. I’ve had two dogs of my own—a Wheaten Terrier and currently a sweet (and sometimes skittish) Goldendoodle—so I’m especially comfortable with pups who are anxious or shy. I welcome dogs of all sizes and energy levels and love matching their pace, whether it’s a calm stroll or a playful adventure! I have full availability Monday-Sunday from 8am to 10pm and can accommodate any schedule! I can do walks for 30 minutes and 1 hour or more. I am very strong and can keep a short leash on a dog who is very excitable if you are worried about them interacting with other dogs. I will not let your dog run up to or jump on strangers without asking their level of comfortability first. Very flexible with how you want your dog to be walked and am open to all perspectives: loose leash, tight leash, want dog to go to dog parks etc.

“Nicole was a wonderful catsitter! She sent photos and detailed updates about how our cat Nimbus was doing and what happened during her visit (whether Nimbus came out, played, accepted pets, etc.). We got a bit concerned because it got unexpectedly very hot while we were gone, and Nicole was very lovely about reassuring us about the temperature in the apartment and making sure she did what she could to keep things cool until we returned. We would absolutely ask her to look after Nimbus again!”

“Malak was extremely responsive and took great care of our two cats while we were away! She spent time with them, ensured they ate their food (which can be a challenge), checked in with us regularly, and took some really nice pictures of the boys to boot. It was our first time using Rover, and she made it totally painless. We would absolutely make use of her services again in the future.”

“It is a special treat for Smokey when Kami visits, Smokey clearly loves her so much! I love the photos that Kami sends of the two of them cuddling. It makes me happy to see my kitty so happy and well cared for!”

About: I've taken care of dogs and cats since I was a child. I worked at a kennels walking dogs when I was younger, sometimes up to 5 dogs at a time, spanning a range of ages. I've always had cats as pets (although they're the real bosses, tbh) and am super comfortable with cats that are old, cranky, or that need a bit of extra medical attention. I work M-F but I'm available for early morning (before 8am) and evening (after 4:30pm) walks or drop-ins. I'm also available on weekends after 10am ☺️ I will look after your pet like its my own while in my care. I have no problem altering my schedule or route as it suits you and your pet.

About: I've been caring for animals since I was very young. I have experience fostering dogs with challenging behaviors and feel confident handling animals of all kinds. I'm deeply passionate about animal care and always strive to make sure every animal feels safe, loved, and well looked after. I recently moved to Vancouver, and I am currently enjoying exploring the city by foot. It’s even better when I have a dog to keep me company! I am very flexible, and available all days of the week. I have a bright and airy two bedroom apartment, with a closed off balcony. There is a park right outside my door also for frequent walks.

“Cristina is so wonderful with Ranger. He is a very shy dog but immediately felt comfortable with her gentle energy! Cristina has great communication and is very dependable. We were so glad to find someone like her and look forward to using her again!”

About: Hi! My name is Melissa, with over 6 years of dog handling experience and being a dog first aid certified, ensuring your pets are in safe hands at all times. From energetic puppies to cuddly seniors, I’ve cared for them all. I offer services such as boarding, dog sitting, walking, drop-in visits, and play dates. Whether your dog needs a fun day out on an adventure hike or a cozy stay while you’re away, I’ve got it covered. Between 8 AM and 1 PM, I lead pack walks with up to four dogs, providing them with exercise, socialization, and personalized care. Afterward, I offer individual walks tailored to each dog’s specific needs, ensuring they receive the attention they deserve. (Limited spots for individual walks) As dog first aid certified professional, I prioritize safety and engagement, providing secure harnesses and monitor all dogs closely. Let me know if your dog has allergies, health issues, or special behaviors like separation anxiety or escape tendencies. I’ll make sure to accommodate their unique needs.

About: I was fortunate to grow up in a family that loved and supported pets (cats and dogs). We adopted dogs from shelters and those listed online that were “free to a good home.” Because of this I was introduced to a variety of breeds of dogs, at different stages in their life, who often struggled with reactive behaviours or medical conditions that were undiagnosed in their previous homes. I understand that a dog or cat’s needs can be specific and unique, and I will always respect an owners requirements of caring for their pet - a lot of hard work goes in to training and supporting a pet, and I will always do my best to maintain consistency for that animal. I’ve been involved in end of life care for both dogs and cats and I’m comfortable giving medications, cleaning up messes, and of course, spending extra time giving snuggles or scratches when needed :) Also, I’m an ICU Nurse, and, although my job is to care for sick humans (not animals), my experience in the healthcare field will positively influence how I love and look after your furry friend! As a Registered Nurse, my schedule involves shift work that varies week to week. When I'm not at work, however, I have ample time to walk, visit, and care for your furry family member. I have flexibility within my schedule also, that can allow me to have longer stretches of time off, so I could be available for house sitting needs or daily check ins. Unfortunately my current home is not “pet friendly” which is why I would LOVE to care for your animal outside of my home and in an environment they are comfortable in. I have grown up with cats and dogs in my childhood home and am comfortable walking dogs on or off leash, on wooded trails, or in busier neighbourhoods. I understand an animals home should be it’s safe space and will adapt my approach to your pets specific needs and routines, whatever they may be!
“Amy was so lovely to deal with and took wonderful care of our kitty Lily while we were away. I could tell from the pictures that Lily was enjoying herself while we were gone and looked pretty happy and playful as usual. From the moment Amy met Lily, I knew that she really was a cat person who cared deeply for animals and that Lily would be in great hands. I definitely won't hesitate to book Amy the next time we need care for our kitty.”

Vancouver dog parents share their Rover experiences
Much thanks to Foram for making house visits for our small dog Leo. We re-booked her for a second time. Foram got along well with Leo and he was looked after on walks, fed meals, provided fresh water and a quick mini groom to keep his face, paws and tail looking good! We appreciate your service! :)

If 13 dogs already gave glowing reviews, who am I to argue? That’s the best judge of character there is. My older Frenchie and cat were immediately comfortable around Jack. He was calm, respectful, and seemed genuinely delighted to receive a thorough greeting of happy doggy hand licks. As a fiercely protective and cautious pet mama, I really appreciated how Jack asked thoughtful, specific questions about their routines and actually listened. That level of care and presence is rare, especially when it comes with a PhD and a posh British accent. It’s not every day your animals get looked after by someone this sharp and kind. I wouldn’t be surprised if they come back with better manners or a newfound love of tea.

Niamh is amazing! Great communication and professionalism. She is clearly a huge dog lover and was so great with my older Frenchie. It's often hard to find someone to care for my senior dog but I felt so comfortable having Bear is Niamh's care! Highly recommend🙌

First time using Rover and chose Charmaine based on her reviews and profile that authentically showed how much she cared about animals. Our dog had the best time and really appreciated the thorough updates and pictures/videos. Hoping Charmaine is around for the next time we are needing help for our pup!

Wow Omar is a complete dog whisperer! I was nervous to go away as it was the first time Beans has had a baby sitter and Omar was so kind, patient and caring towards my boy Beans! I am so thankful to Omar. My dog has anxiety and Omar has really worked with him and he is out going for walks and has a new dog friend in Marshall! I couldn’t be more happier. My place looked tidier than when I left it. There was constant correspondence and I really appreciate it. I can’t say enough good things about Omar as a person and a dog sitter! 10/10 would definitely recommend!
