“We are so happy to have found Nadia! With a very anxious little dog who doesn’t like to be left alone it can be hard to get out. Nadia came in with her calm and loving demeanour and Pukki relaxed right away. Nadia knew how to speak to him and connect with him so we could go out without worry. She’s a skilled dog whisperer and a great communicator with dog parents too. We got updates throughout the evening and came home to a happy dog. Your pup will be safe and happy in her hands, can’t recommend her enough!”

About: My experience with pets is from back home in Brazil. I have at home a cat, 3 dogs, a turtle, and a bird (Yeah, a lot I know haha). Of all the pets that I have, I have a special connection with my dogs. They are like my shadow and always wants to stay next to me. I can’t even imagine how they are missing me since I moved to Canada, and I also miss them like crazy. Being a sitter will complete this part that I most miss from home. Im currently working full time during the week. I’m available for drop in’s and walks during the week from 07am to 8am / 05:30pm to 08pm. For house sitting I’m available starting Friday 05:30pm to Sunday 07pm. Message me if you have any questions. I care so much about the attention that is needed to the pets. They are so loyal with us and just wanna feel loved and cared of.

“Wonderful dog sitter! Kind, reliable, and so caring with our dog. They went above and beyond with walks, cuddles, and lots of love. We came home to a happy, well-cared- for pup and would definitely book with them again!”

About: I have two Goldendoodles who are truly my best friends, and I’ve grown up surrounded by dogs my whole life! I’ve always loved caring for and spending time with animals. I’ve also had experience looking after my neighbours’ dogs, including house sitting, walking, feeding, playing, and making sure they’re happy and comfortable. I’ve cared for dogs both in my neighbourhood and in my hometown, and I really enjoy getting to know each dog’s unique personality and making them feel right at home! I’m currently in my third year at Brock University, studying Forensic Psychology and Criminal Justice! I’m available every afternoon, with full availability from Thursday through Sunday. When I’m caring for your pet, they have my full attention and are always my priority. I’m dedicated to making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, loved, and well cared for while they’re with me. I will ensure your dog is always in a safe, comfortable, and loving environment. I love keeping dogs active, engaged, and having fun throughout the day so they’re happy, relaxed, and ready for a great night’s sleep!
“Sadie took wonderful care of Annie & my house this weekend, as she always does. The pictures & updates were much appreciated! We look forward to many more visits from her in the future 🤗”
“I had Gillian dog sit my Oakley at my place for a full week. She treated me and my home with respect, took lots of lovely, Insta-worthy pictures of my dog, and left him tired and happy at the end of the day. We were very lucky to have been able to book Gillian for the week. Thanks so much!!!”
About: Hi, I'm Kirsten, but you can call me Kirty as all my friends do! I've been looking after animals for other people in my life for as long as I can remember. This is where my passion lies and I want to spend as much time with animals as I can. I have years of experience with cats and dogs of all ages and breeds. Next up on my list of things to learn is animal CPR! I will update once I'm certified. I work a part-time job with fairly flexible hours, and have had to balance both working and pet care many times over the last 5 years. My main priority is to do whatever is best for the pets, so I always find a way to fit them into my schedule. I'm very easy-going so we can always find something that works, together! I've spent many days and nights having slumber parties with pets at the owners houses. Whatever the pet needs, I'm there! I've had to follow special diets, provide medications, and even dealt with night terrors. I love to care for every animal as if they're my own!
“We hired Kiara to sit our 2 dogs over a long weekend. As soon as I met her, I knew she was the perfect person for the job. Kiara immediately showered my dogs with sincere kindness and attention and they loved her back right from that very first moment. It was obvious she genuinely loves dogs. She listened carefully to my care instructions and asked appropriate questions about our pets as well as our home. While we were away, she kept us updated with short videos and photos and reached out to us whenever she needed clarification. She was prompt to reply to any of my inquiries as well. We felt very comfortable with Kiara looking after our dogs in our home. After our trip, we arrived to 2 happy dogs and our house being just as clean and tidy as we left it. In all, I would highly recommend Kiara to care for anyone’s dogs. She is trustworthy, kind and truly caring.”

“Zeno hit it off right away with Marie. Loves having Marie here to look after him when we leave the house. Zeno suffers from separation anxiety and had a fabulous time chilling with Marie while we were gone. (and we didn't have to worry about him while we were gone...which was wonderful)”

“Melina was amazing with all my babies. They love her, which does not happen with everyone (hehe). With 4 dogs and 1 cat in our household, it was a lot of work to care for them so lovingly. Our family truly appreciates the care from Melina and will definitely want to re-book her for our future needs!”

About: I grew up in a house that raised dogs for show and for families. I am quite comfortable with small dogs like dachshunds to big dogs like boxers. I am also comfortable with any age pet . My friends often call me a “dog whisperer”. I am a retired occasional teacher. I am available April through November. I enjoy walking so it would be a great opportunity to take your pet for a walk. I will only be able to come to your place to take care of your dog. I live in an apartment that does not allow dogs.
“Holly was great and I had a good feeling from the moment we met. Our dog, Chanel, has a few challenges. She barks at other dogs and is a bit reactive and afraid at times. This was also our first time leaving her. Holly took it in stride, sent many reassuring photos and bonded with Chanel right away. I could tell our dog was content when we arrived home. Chanel curled up with Holly at bedtime. A real good sign! I'd feel very comfortable going on longer trips knowing that Chanel was in good hands with Holly!”

“Incredible experience! Our dog Watson warmed up to Heaven so quickly which is unusual for him. We felt comfortable and confident going out knowing he was in great hands.”

About: I've been a dog-lover and pet care provider for as long as I can remember, it's no wonder I decided to make a career out of it! I couldn't do it alone though... I hated the idea of leaving my own dog behind everyday, so I choose the dog-walking route to ensure she could come along to work with me! Together, we are a dynamic duo providing premium pet care! Our goal is to help you give your furry family members the exercise, socialisation, and routine they need to be their best and happiest selves – while providing you with peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands (and paws). Whether you’re interested in our walking service, overnight pet sitting, or other special occasion care, we’ve got you covered! We ensure every experience is lead with love, fun, and lots of care. Dog walking and pet sitting services are offered daily until 6pm usually. I'm currently available to provide overnight pet sitting from approximately 7pm to 7am. Daytime care for overnight pets is also available to be booked as walks or drop-in services at their respective rates. This is my full time job, so I can be flexible. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions regarding availability! I choose to provide overnight care in your home to ensure your pup is in the place that feels the safest and most comfortable. They get to stick to their routine and be surrounded by their own things, ensuring the least stressful experience during their time apart from you. Please keep in mind that my own dog (female, cockapoo) joins me for all overnight stays and most walking services or drop-ins, so your dog and you must be dog-friendly!

About: Trustworthy, attentive, and empathetic, I love caring for dogs. I have 5 years of experience being a dog mom, and am a trusted dog aunt to the pets of family members and friends. Without a dog of my own right now, I am looking to help others who may need a trusted dog walker or sitter to help keep pets active, joyful, and feeling loved when they are away. I am someone with a flexible schedule. I am consistently available in the early morning, evenings and weekends for dog walking. I am open to coordinating schedules, and finding routines that are mutually beneficial. When meeting new dogs, I try to let them come to me while showing them that I am safe and trustworthy. I do this by ensuring their needs are met, speaking to them kindly, and giving them the consideration that every living being deserves.
About: I am actively working as a veterinary assistant trained as a vet tech for the past 7 years. I previously worked in a pet rehabilitation facility where we helped pets recover from major surgery. I also completed a professional dog trainer certification through Canine Academy in Milton. I use a positive-reinforcement, reward based gentle approach for pet care and handling. Last year, I attended a workshop to learn low stress patient protocols for veterinary professionals and am fear free certified. I’ve even taught my dog to give consent for nail trims and trim his nails successfully every 2 weeks. I also have previously worked as a dog walker and daycare attendant. Recently I started offering in home nail trims for pets and would love to extend that support to drop in visits, pet sitting & medication/injection administration. I can monitor pets with medical needs closely and want to provide relief to pet parents who need support in any way. I’m here for you and your fur family and will accommodate each pets individual needs 💛 I work 4 days a week, evenings/weekends and Wednesdays I am off. While I am at work I have an hour break and can use that for drop in visits/let outs. I am a very detail oriented, clean person and will respect the space I am providing service in. I will clean up after your pets as I do with mine alike.
About: Hi, I’m Anna! 🐾🩷 I’ve always had a huge love for animals, and there’s honestly nothing quite like the happiness and companionship they bring into our lives. I love spending time with pets because every dog has their own little personality. Whether they’re playful and energetic, shy and cuddly, or happiest curled up beside you, I genuinely enjoy getting to know them and making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I’m a very caring and attentive pet sitter, and I treat every animal in my care like they’re my own. I love going for walks, playing, giving lots of cuddles and belly rubs, and of course taking way too many photos! 😂🐶 Knowing that I can give someone peace of mind while they’re away is one of my favourite parts of pet sitting. There’s nothing better than coming home to a happy pup — and I feel pretty lucky that I get to be part of that. 💕 I’ve always had dogs in my life and absolutely love being around them. 🐾 I currently have my own little pup, Pepper, who is a Pomeranian/Bichon mix and is very much part of the family. He’s playful, affectionate, an absolute pampered prince and has given me lots of experience understanding the little quirks and personalities that make every dog different. 🩷 I also have experience caring for other people’s dogs through pet sitting and dog boarding, including regular repeat clients. I’ve cared for dogs with different ages, energy levels, personalities, and routines, and I’m comfortable providing walks, playtime, companionship, feeding, medication when needed, and lots of cuddles. I understand how important it is to leave your pet with someone you trust, so I’m very attentive to their routine and individual needs. My goal is always for them to feel happy, safe, and completely at home while they’re in my care. 🐶💕 I work from home and I live in the north end of St. Catharines. My home backs onto sunset beach (Lake Ontario) and there are endless pathways to explore! I am available for extended stays in my home and welcome to short term, drop ins and doggy walking - I’m flexible with scheduling and also willing to travel a reasonable distance! I have experience caring for both small and large dogs, I currently have a little Pomeranian mix floof puppy. I understand that your pets are family and I promise to love them dearly and make them feel safe in your absence :)
The median cost per night for house sitting in St. Catharines is $55
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - St. Catharines
Nadia was fantastic and took great care of our two large pups. She was very accommodating for us and flexible. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to adjust our times at the last minute and she was very understanding. She provided daily updates with pictures and videos of the dogs and also left our house very neat and clean and tidy. We highly recommend Nadia, and we'll definitely be using her again.

Amber and Justin took such good care of my pup while I was away. They were able to help me out last minute after my other sitter plans fell through! They were so patient and accommodating with her as she can be a little scared at the beginning, and sent me regular updates to ease my dog momma mind. They also left my place super clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend and book them again.

Keana is hands down the best dog walker/sitter we have ever worked with! She is extremely patient and kind to Pickles and all animals. She made sure that he had everything he needed as well as going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable with the experience. We love her and will be using her anytime we need someone to look after Pickles. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
We and our ‘girls’ love Megan! We’ve had a difficult time finding someone we could trust with the house as well as the girls. Some were better with the house, others with the girls. Megan was the perfect match! We arrived home, back from vacation, with the girls excited and healthy as well as the house being better off than we left it! Megan gave daily updates with pictures, answered any inquiry in a moment, followed feeding instructions and went well beyond everything that was requested. More importantly, things that weren’t expected! Megan lifted every stress off of our shoulders while away! Our girls (especially Tessa) was left looking for her the next day after we returned, and we’re sure they both miss her terribly! We won’t consider anyone else, and hope Megan stops by from time to time to visit until our next booking! Thank you, Megan!

We were so thrilled to be able to go away on vacation and ‘try’ not to worry about leaving Haven - our Standard Poodle rescue with separation anxiety - for a week with Amanda. Haven bonded with Amanda from their first meeting. We were sure Haven would not walk further than ten feet with Amanda, if at all! With patients and many treats! Amanda was able to get Haven walking around our neighbourhood, within a couple of days. Amanda kept us up to date with pictures and texts on how Haven was doing which made us able to enjoy our vacation with much less stress. Thank you Amanda!

Shealin did an amazing job staying with my senior dog and young cat for three nights. You can tell she really loves animals and sent updates showing that my pets were settling in comfortably with a “new” person. Shealin is mature and responsible and very responsive to messages. I chose Shealin as she came recommended by a friend and I would highly recommend her too.

The average cost for House Sitting in St. Catharines on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 1,938 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across St. Catharines. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in St. Catharines maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred St. Catharines walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in St. Catharines choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 81% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
