“Luisa was so excellent to work with! She took the time to get to know Mala and her specific needs. Luisa and Mala got along super well because of the patience and care that Luisa took in every interaction. I would absolutely hire Luisa again and highly recommend her to anybody whose dog struggles with reactivity, anxiety, or is a rescue. Luisa clearly has experience in all of those areas and wants to ensure you and your dog are both comfortable at every step. Thanks Luisa for everything!”

“Holly was a real lifesaver for us. We had to book almost last minute, due to some changes with our original plans. Holly responded very quickly, met with our pets, and agreed to take the job. Our Romeo really loved Holly from the minute she walked in the front door. We felt very at ease leaving our pets in her care, while we were away. Holly sent us daily messages with photos of our boys, keeping us updating on how they were doing. We loved that 🩷 We truly recommend Holly to any pet owners looking for a kind, sweet and caring person to watch your “fur babies” . We will definitely be a repeat customer.”

“Lauren looked after our 2 cats and 1 pup for 8 days while we travelled abroad for our wedding. This was the first time we had left our animals with someone other than family, and it was a big step for us. Lauren came over for a meet and greet and we also booked her for a 1 night stay a few weeks before leaving. The level of care Lauren provided while we were away for our wedding was outstanding. She was so great with communications, sending us regular updates and a ton of adorable photos everyday! We felt totally at ease on this trip knowing that Lauren was with our animals, and we could tell from the photos that they had absolutely fallen in love with her (even our VERY shy cat!) I highly recommend Lauren’s services. Not only did she take incredible care of our pets, but also of our home which she left spotless. We can’t thank Lauren enough! I know our animals will be looking forward to seeing her again! <3”

“I feel so lucky to have found Mercedez on Rover! She went above and beyond in every way while looking after my cat. Not only did she handle all the basics perfectly, but she truly took the time to love, play, and bond with my cat as if he were her own. The frequent updates (with pictures and notes) gave me so much peace of mind, and it was clear from the very beginning that she’s a natural with animals. My usually shy cat warmed up to her so quickly, which says it all! Mercedez is responsible, trustworthy, and most importantly, a genuine animal lover. I came home to a happy, relaxed cat and a spotless home. I can’t imagine a better sitter, and I will definitely be booking her again. If you’re looking for someone you can trust completely with your pets, Mercedez is the one!”
“We are glad to have had Jess come to be with Sully. She is a warm hearted dog lover with a gentle kindness. Jess did some practical training with Sully and tuckered him out. We appreciated the pictures as well. It was a great experience and we look forward to seeing her again. Thank you!”

“Sam was amazing - she was constantly updating up with pictures and messages. Mila is a rescue but really warmed up to Sam, bringing out her confidence. We are so grateful for her and will absolutely be using her services again!”

“Charlene was absolutely amazing with our crazy trio of pups! Moose, Lucy and Frankie took a liking to her instantly and really enjoyed their time with her. She kept the house so tidy and was sure to send us many updates over the course of a few days. Lots of play time and relaxing too. She made us feel so comfortable being away from home and we are already looking forward to using her again ! The best!”

About: I've taken care of dogs for as long as I can remember. Both big and small dogs. I've always loved dogs and look forward to meeting and supporting more. I work full-time Monday through Friday. I am off at 4pm. And if I can be of any assistance to anyone who works weekday afternoons/evenings/weekends or just needs some extra help with pet care, that's awesome. I know what it's like to feel guilty leaving the house for work/going out or having an emergency that leaves your pets home for extended hours. Pets are not just pets. They are family! And if I can bring owners some peace of mind knowing their dog was let outside to go to the bathroom and checked in on, that's amazing. I will strive to accomplish what needs to be accomplished efficiently, whether that's letting your pet out to use the bathroom, make sure their food and water dishes replenished and get some pets and a little bit of play in. If it's a walk your dog needs, I'm your girl. I love going for walks in general and have experience walking dogs of all sizes. I'm also on a weight loss journey so talking your pet out for a stroll is great for both of us!

“I could tell Alfie really liked Chanel from the way he was cuddling with her. Appreciated her updates she shared when caring for Alfie and she was receptive to any feedback I gave. Thanks a bunch Chanel, looking forward to seeing you again!”

“Heaven was wonderful with our Dog Jagger! We came home to a clean house, a happy dog and smiles on our faces. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for in-home pet sitting at their home! She sent multiple updates with photos which reassured us that Everything was going well. Thanks again Heaven ♥️”

“Melina was amazing with all my babies. They love her, which does not happen with everyone (hehe). With 4 dogs and 1 cat in our household, it was a lot of work to care for them so lovingly. Our family truly appreciates the care from Melina and will definitely want to re-book her for our future needs!”

About: I've been surrounded by animals my entire life and have owned a variety of pets, including dogs, cats, and bunnies. Growing up, my parents bred dogs, which gave me hands-on experience caring for puppies from an early age. I helped with their daily care, socialization, and basic training, learning the importance of patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. I genuinely love spending time with animals and understand that every pet has its own unique personality and needs. Whether it's playtime, walks, cuddles, or sticking to their routine, I'll make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and well cared for while you're away. As a nurse, I have large 5 days periods of time off, during which I would be available to provide care at any time. Following this, I work 4 days in a row and as a result, my schedule is not super consistent in that my days off vary. Despite this, I am super flexible and willing to coordinate with people’s schedule during the 5 day window. My entire home is currently pet-proofed for my bunny, who would go in her x-pen during home visits. All baseboards are tapped and all cord and wires are protected with coverings to ensure the rabbit’s safety. I am also very careful about the plants and flowers I bring in the environment due to potential toxicities. As a nurse, I also have medical knowledge which may be applicable at times. I will always doing everything within my power to ensure the safety and comfort of all animals in my care.

About: First of all - I empathize with your tough decision; leaving your fur baby in the hands of another is always a stressful experience. I want to make sure this is a pawsitive experience for you - to answer any questions, send regular updates and photos of your fur baby being spoiled, feeling safe and comfortable in your absence - which would be stressful for them as well. I will not derail your training or nutrition routines as I know it takes a lot of work and dedication to raise a healthy, happy pet. I work full time M to F, 8 to 3. If by chance your fur baby needed to spend any weekdays with me, I’m happy to crate or provide a space free of dangers - garbages up, stairs downstairs gated off and peaceful music in the background. I can also ask my folks (retired) to stop by for a pet and a pee. Mainly - I am looking to sit during weekends (when I am fully off) and holidays (I get all school holidays off) - where it will be me and your fur baby from morning till night! Also - if your pet is more comfortable at his/her own home, I don’t mind having the discussion of me staying over with you. I think it would be really beautiful to get to know your pet like an auntie so that you all can rely on a familiar face as you travel and your pets grow older! I live on an acre of land, with a creek in my backyard. I do not live on a busy street, however, I do not have a fenced in property. I would never let your dog or cat outside to roam without myself at the end of their leash. I will gladly exercise your fur baby with toys, lick pads and long-tether leash walks, in the backyard, on the trails (depending on heartworm/tick medications up to date), but I would never let them out of my sight (I wouldn’t even be able to do that with my own fur baby as I don’t want them to get into anything and frankly I don’t trust people out there!!)
About: I've raised 4 cats and understand that every cat is unique. I'm experienced with multi-cat dynamics, special diets, and recognizing signs of stress or illness. I'm patient, observant, and truly enjoy spending quality time with cats. Plus, I'm great at taking photos of them and sending updates with you! Working from home is perfect for cat sitting - I'm here all day! Your cat will never be alone for long periods. Feeding schedules are easy to maintain, and I can monitor your cat's behavior and well-being constantly. Plus, I genuinely enjoy the company - it's like having my own cats back! Since I work from home, I'm always nearby to monitor their well-being. I send daily photo/video updates so you can see your cat is happy and settled. I live alone in a spacious 2-bedroom apartment, so it's a quiet, calm environment with plenty of room to explore or nap.
“Absolutely recommended Remy 100%. I was so happy to come home and the house was clean, the dogs were happy. I sincerely appreciate this so much. I am so glad I found someone for helping me and I will definitely reach out to Remy as a first contract in the future.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Niagara Falls
Very grateful that Luisa could care for Alfie while I was at work. He absolutely loved her as seen by the cuddles he was giving her in the pictures I received. Luisa sent me lots of pictures and was prompt to reply to my messages. She even cleaned up the accident my landlord's dog had even though he wasn't her responsibility. I appreciated her overall care and thoughtfulness towards Alfie and his needs.

We left our Golden doodle Sadie with Camille for two week while we went on a cruise. Her daily messsages and pictures made is feel so relieved that our dog was being loved and cared for so that we could really relax and enjoy our holiday. She played with her, slept with her, groomed her and loved her while we were gone. We came home to a clean home and a happy pet. Recommend her highly!!
Shae did a fantastic job looking after our three cats - Herman, Eddie, and Ella. We have specific feeding requirements (separate food for each), and Shae followed all the instructions without issue. Communication throughout was great; we always knew how things were going. When we got home, the cats were calm and happy, which says everything. We would absolutely book Shae again without hesitation.

Remy was amazing with my rescue dog, Bowie! He has separation anxiety and can be fearful of new people and Remy was incredible. They understood his quirks and was accommodating and patient and created a calming and supportive environment for him while we were out. We got tons of pictures and updates too which I loved. Highly recommend!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Niagara Falls on Rover is $71.04 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 236 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Niagara Falls. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Niagara Falls maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Niagara Falls walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Niagara Falls choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 90% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 90% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
