Tata was great ! She sat my 8 lb puppy ( Chihuahua) and he was only 5 months old. Tata was extremely intuitive to Rico's needs and training. I was away for 7 days and she welcomed him into her home and made him feel comfortable. She kept in touch daily with video's and texts. I highly recommend her and would book her to watch Rico for any future extended trips I may take.

About: I’ve cared for animals of all sizes, temperaments, and care needs through both personal and professional experience. I have experience with dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, small animals, and more. I’m comfortable working with a wide range of personalities and energy levels, including high energy dogs, shy or anxious pets, and animals requiring patience and detailed care. I also have experience with puppy care and basic training reinforcement, including maintaining consistency with routines, potty schedules, and commands. In addition, I have clinical animal experience, which has helped me become confident working with many different temperaments and behaviours. I hold a Bachelor of Medical Science. During my studies, I developed a strong foundation in biology, physiology, health sciences, and overall wellness. This background has strengthened my understanding of health and behaviour. What sets me apart is my focus on individualized care and safety. I take the time to learn about each pet so they can feel comfortable and secure while in my care. I understand that pets are family, and I treat every animal with the same level of care and respect I would expect for my own. Working with animals has always been a long-term career goal of mine. It’s something I deeply care about and take pride in. I have flexible availability, and am willing to drop-in multiple times a day if needed. Contact me so that we can make arrangements that work for everyone. I focus on private dog walks and drop-in visits. I believe many pets are most comfortable and least stressed when they’re able to remain in their familiar environment and routine. My approach to pet care is calm, attentive, and safety-focused. I take the time to learn each pet’s personality, comfort level, routines, and any behavioural or medical considerations before services begin. During walks and visits, I focus on: -Secure leash and harness handling -Private, one-on-one care -Monitoring pets for stress, overheating, fatigue, or discomfort -Maintaining routines as closely as possible -Keeping homes secure upon arrival and departure -Providing updates for peace of mind I understand that trust is extremely important when allowing someone to care for your pets and access your home. I approach every visit with professionalism, respect, and attention to detail to help both pets and owners feel safe and comfortable.

About: I really love dogs and cats. And every pet has their own personality. I love exploring their personalities and communicating with them. Building trust first and enjoy spending time together. I love cuddling and always attached with them. I am currently working part time and studying English . I am available for pet sit sitting 3 days in week which is Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Maybe some Monday’s. First of all I have to know about the pet which is I have to take care. What I have to be careful and avoid to do. I have to know home rules that I have to follow.

About: First of all - I empathize with your tough decision; leaving your fur baby in the hands of another is always a stressful experience. I want to make sure this is a pawsitive experience for you - to answer any questions, send regular updates and photos of your fur baby being spoiled, feeling safe and comfortable in your absence - which would be stressful for them as well. I will not derail your training or nutrition routines as I know it takes a lot of work and dedication to raise a healthy, happy pet. I work full time M to F, 8 to 3. If by chance your fur baby needed to spend any weekdays with me, I’m happy to crate or provide a space free of dangers - garbages up, stairs downstairs gated off and peaceful music in the background. I can also ask my folks (retired) to stop by for a pet and a pee. Mainly - I am looking to sit during weekends (when I am fully off) and holidays (I get all school holidays off) - where it will be me and your fur baby from morning till night! Also - if your pet is more comfortable at his/her own home, I don’t mind having the discussion of me staying over with you. I think it would be really beautiful to get to know your pet like an auntie so that you all can rely on a familiar face as you travel and your pets grow older! I live on an acre of land, with a creek in my backyard. I do not live on a busy street, however, I do not have a fenced in property. I would never let your dog or cat outside to roam without myself at the end of their leash. I will gladly exercise your fur baby with toys, lick pads and long-tether leash walks, in the backyard, on the trails (depending on heartworm/tick medications up to date), but I would never let them out of my sight (I wouldn’t even be able to do that with my own fur baby as I don’t want them to get into anything and frankly I don’t trust people out there!!)

About: I grew up with a golden doodle my whole life and took care of her. Majority of my family and friends have dogs so I am very used to being around them and taking care of dogs. I have experience walking various dogs, checking in on them, feeding, and hanging out with them! My availability is very open right now and I should be able to commit to anytime offered. Feel free to reach out any day and anytime of the week If I am coming to your house I will ensure to keep your fur baby safe by putting them on a leash when going outside unless there is a enclosed space with a fence. If they are coming to my house I will do the same thing to ensure their safety.

Her daily messsages and pictures made is feel so relieved that our dog was being loved and cared for so that we could really relax and enjoy our holiday. She played with her, slept with her, groomed her and loved her while we were gone. We came home to a clean home and a happy pet. Recommend her highly!!

Amber and Justin took such good care of my pup while I was away. They were able to help me out last minute after my other sitter plans fell through! They were so patient and accommodating with her as she can be a little scared at the beginning, and sent me regular updates to ease my dog momma mind. They also left my place super clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend and book them again.

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats for about 10 years from having 2 cats at home and one dog, I am all taking care of a few dogs in Canada where I study and take them for walks and house sit when the owners are out of town. it helps me take a break from doing whatever to care for the pet and walk it and spend time with an animal for a few hours in a day to get my mindset different. On a daily basis I wake up and feed the dog and then take him/ her for a walk and play with the pet for a while and then take him/ her for an other walk and then at night I feed him/ her again and take him for an other walk and then one more before bed so I’m taking the pet for a walk around 4-5 times a day depends.

About: I am a lover of all animals! I know everyone says that, but animals are my passion. I am energetic, outgoing, and fun and LOVE spending time with any kind of animal! I have had pets my entire life and hope to one day open a sanctuary for rescued animals. My dream job would consist of being able to spend time with your dogs and give them love, affection, and of course, the exercise they need. I have recently graduated from the Social Service Worker program at Mohawk College and hope to use my education to offer pet therapy in the future. I am more than happy to offer my services to your dogs (or cats). I can walk them, play with them, feed them, bathe them, house sit for you, clean up after them, brush them, administer medications, just to name a few. If you are looking for someone who truly loves animals and who will treat your dogs (or cats) like family, then I hope you give me a chance! I am available for walks, drop ins, or just hanging out with your pet! I have availability every day, through the day, just let me know what you need! In my home, pets will be treated like family — they’ll have a safe, comfortable space, regular walks, playtime, and lots of love and attention. I follow their normal feeding and potty routines to help them feel at ease. In a client’s home, I make sure to keep their pets’ environment familiar and stress-free by sticking to their usual schedule. I provide fresh food and water, walks or playtime, and plenty of companionship, while also respecting the home and leaving everything tidy. My goal is to make sure pets feel secure, happy, and cared for no matter where they are.

About: Dogs have always been a part of my life. The dogs I watch, walk, and visit, become my family. I have experience with reactive dogs, dogs that have anxiety about thunder and fireworks, and dogs that have medical regimes. I am attuned to the need for dogs to be engaged through walks, play, and games, while also enjoying their rest. I am Pet First Aid Certified through St. John's Ambulance, with hands on training in dog CPR and other treatments. I look forward to introducing myself and meeting you and your dog(s) during a free meet and greet. My work allows for a flexible schedule throughout the week and weekends. I can be available for all of your pet care needs, regardless of timing. My elderly puppies need a predictable environment, so I prefer to stay at your home when caring for your pet(s). I will review your expectations regarding your home, the yard, and the immediate neighbourhood during our free meet and greet. I also offer additional services inside or outside of your home, if you are interested.

About: I’ve been around animals my whole life, and truly believe they are part of the family, and should be treated as such. Growing up, I spent most of the time at the barn with horses, and in the home I had cats, dogs, hamsters, fish, chickens, a turtle, tortoise, lizard, and even a tarantula! I started pet sitting during university, and when I moved into my own place I started fostering dogs with a local rescue. Through my fostering journey I have gained experience with training, giving medicine, and working with reactive dogs - just let me know in your booking request if any of this is required. I do not always show myself as available, but I am open to house sitting occasionally. Especially if I can bring my dog!… if you think I’d be a great fit for your fur family please message me so we can set up a FREE phone call or in-person meet & greet! Other animals? I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes, and open to caring for pets with behavioural issues. I am also very experienced with horses & comfortable with farm animals. As a teacher, I can be flexible with my work in the summer months. I do work in food & beverage, but shifts are not very long. I am an active person, so I can guarantee some good long walks and hikes for your dog! Or, a good snuggle and play time for your cat! In my home, I have one large crate with a divider to fit most sized dogs if needed. My yard is not fenced, but it is big! Perfect for a quiet walk and playing or lounging on a secure long line. I have a baby gate to keep dogs out of the foyer, so there is no risk of escaping. For walks, I live on a quiet street and have access to trails. I am observant and very attentive to dogs and cats. So happy to play or cuddle depending on their personality. I do have a male dog and cat (occasionally multiple cats, as I foster) in my home who both love other dogs. If your dog doesn't love the cats, they can easily be separated. My dog can read the room well and matches the vibe of his friends - he is happy to chill or play all day. If I am in your home, I will abide by all of your rules. Let me know if you need me to water plants, bring in the mail, or bring the garbage bins to/from the curb. And to keep your mind at ease - I'll provide lots of pictures and videos!

We are so glad to know and work with Jess. Sully is so pleased to have her come in. With some training, she had him learn 'circle ' which he performed for us perfectly. She also took time to groom him and taught me a lesson as well. I believe her calm and gentle spirit has a great influence on his behavior. Thanks Jess. See you soon.

FAQs for House Sitting - Fort Erie

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Fort Erie on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 199 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Fort Erie. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fort Erie maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fort Erie walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fort Erie choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.

If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
