“Siobhan did a wonderful job taking care of our 7 year old Beagle. I think he really enjoyed playing with Siobhan's dog Millie. They were a very good match by size and temperament. I'm sure our Beagle enjoyed having access to a fenced yard. Lots of new things to sniff! Thank you Siobhan :)”

“Stephanie did an amazing job taking care of our dog Apollo! This was our first time leaving him with anyone other than family and he loved it, but most importantly we were reassured that he was safe and doing well during the whole day. Stephanie sent us many videos and pictures of Apollo’s stay, which was amazing because we could see how much fun he was having! I will and already have booked multiple more doggy day care for Apollo with Stephanie and recommend anyone to do so too!”

“My Fuji absolutely loves Ibifuro and is always excited when we get her street. She communicates with me throughout the day with updates on Fuji and how he is doing which I really appreciate. I would definitely book her again.”

“I’m so very pleased to have made a connection with Tammy. First, she was willing to meet and test herself for any allergic reaction to our Lexi. Thankfully there was none!! From the first moment we met Tammy and later her hsbd, I could see Lexi was super relaxed and at ease. Getting to know Tammy prior to arranging daycare was a pleasure. I appreciated all the questions, her eagerness to interact with Lexi, her manner of joy, gentleness and natural confident leadership while handling our girl. Our first dog-sitting went smoothly for everyone. There was excellent communication between us, I had 100% peace of mind while away and from photos Tammy shared, I could see Lexi was a very happy girl. I’m grateful to know that Tammy and Gord are people with whom we can trust and count on for future dog sitting and perhaps (hopefully!), overnight stays too ?? ?”

“Meagan, you and your family did such an amazing job caring for my pup, Alfie! Meagan followed all of my requests and kept me updated throughout the whole entire visit according to my request. Their home is intentionally set up to accommodate caring for a dog, with areas gated for safety. Her daughter's are also extremely sweet and I appreciate that they spent time and playing with Alfie. They are clearly dog savvy kids and were very respectful of him and his needs. I don't even think Alfie knew I was gone 🙄😂 Thank you very much Meagan & family!!”

“Frankie always has a great time at Naomi and Sam’s place and they go above and beyond to ensure she’s well cared for. They’re so down to earth. Frankie can’t wait for her next stay 🥰”

“Connor did a fantastic job looking after our dog, Roux! From the moment they met, it was clear that Roux liked him and was eager to go with him. Connor made sure she was walked, exercised and felt loved + comfortable throughout her time with him. We really appreciated his attentiveness and care, and we’ll definitely be contacting him again to have him look after Roux in the future!”

About: “The world would be a nicer place if everyone had the ability to love as unconditionally as a dog.”- M.K.Clinton As far as I can remember, I don’t think I have spent a day without a dog in my life. Dogs have been an essential part of my being since I was a child. I’m an avid dog lover who just needs an excuse to be with a dog anytime of the day! :-) I have first hand experience in caring for dogs for the past 9 years. I love them with all my heart & I am willing to go the extra mile to make sure that your soulful furry pal is comfortable & cherished in my home. Their presence is a blessing in any life. I work from home which gives me full flexibility & freedom to be with my fur ball ( a super friendly Pomeranian) 24/7. Hence, your fur baby will have my constant attention & love all the time. My husband is my partner in care & we will make sure your paw some little one gets all the attention he needs and even more! I have all sorts of toys (for small dogs) to activate their little smart mind & give them ample amount of exercise for a healthy lifestyle. Kindly schedule a meet & greet before your pet's stay so he/she can sniffle around the new surroundings & give his/hers warm approval :-) I look forward to meet your fur companion! Unfortunately no home boarding available at this time. Sorry for any inconvenience. Your fur babies are like my own! Always treated with love & care. “Clare was amazing with our dogs! She has the best bubbly, positive personality. We were on vacation in her area and needed some dog-free time. Her doggy daycare service saved us. Her home and yard are lovely, comfortable, and dog friendly. Clare was very diligent and kept us updated the entire time with pictures and concerns. I highly recommend her services, and will book her again when we return! Thank you so much, Clare!”

“Thank you Jade for giving us a worry-free day in leaving Sully with you and your family. I'm glad he had his first time meeting a larger dog and 4 week old baby. We are happy he behaved well for you with exception of ' the feet focus' he has as a Sheltie. Thank your mom for helping out.”

“Monica and her children have been fantastic with our puppy Ace! Pick up and drop off are very easy and enjoyable. Monica always sends photos and updates so I can see how Ace’s day is going. Ace loves going to daycare at Monica’s and always wags his tail when we pull up to her home. My fiancée and I are very thankful that Monica took a chance on our pup and would highly recommend her to our family and friends.”

“Dhizzy is honestly amazing!! She was very accommodating with your late pickup and is super understanding. Hazel feels so comfortable with her and I couldn’t ask for anything more.”

Great size family home with lots of room and comfy furniture for them to feel right at home. I have a fully fenced in back yard, offering lots of play time outside. About: Hi! I’m Anna, I’ve always loved animals, I had three chihuahuas and a golden retriever growing up. I currently have a Pomeranian bichon mix named Dr. Pepper who is treated like royalty (he’s a pampered prince). My friends have relied on me to take care of their furry family members while they have been away and it warms my heart to see the unconditional love that pets bring us. I work from home and I live in the north end of St. Catharines. My home backs onto sunset beach (Lake Ontario) and there are endless pathways to explore! I am available for extended stays in my home and welcome to short term, drop ins and doggy walking - I’m flexible with scheduling and also willing to travel a reasonable distance! I have experience caring for both small and large dogs, I currently have a little Pomeranian mix floof puppy. I understand that your pets are family and I promise to love them dearly and make them feel safe in your absence :)
About: What sets me apart is the individualized, stress-free environment I provide. Since I don’t have pets or children of my own, your dog will enjoy my 100% undivided attention in a clean, quiet, and smoke-free home. Growing up with family pets and helping on my grandfather’s farm gave me a natural, calm, and patient approach to animal care. I am highly organized and communicative, so you will always receive regular photo updates and total peace of mind while you are away. I am also comfortable with puppy care and senior care, as well as administering oral medications. Whether your pet needs the extra patience and frequent breaks of a puppy or the quiet, gentle routine of a senior, I am committed to ensuring their schedule and care stay exactly as it is at home. As a freelance professional working from home, my schedule is incredibly flexible, allowing me to make pet care my top priority throughout the day. Your dog will never be left alone for long periods; instead, they will enjoy constant companionship and a consistent routine. Safety and trust are my top priorities. My home is a very clean, organized, and peaceful environment, which I believe is essential for a pet to feel secure. I live in a pet-free and smoke-free household with my husband, meaning there are no other animals or children to cause stress or unpredictable situations. Since I work from home, I provide constant supervision. Your pet will never be left unattended in open areas. Although I have an open shared space outdoors, I strictly follow a 'leash-only' policy for outside time to ensure your pet is always safe and by my side. We are also lucky to live very close to a local park, where I take pets for secure, on-leash walks to get fresh air and exercise. I understand how important it is to know your pet is doing well. I commit to sending daily photo and video updates so you can see how happy and relaxed they are. My home is a 'home away from home' where I follow your specific instructions—from feeding schedules to medical needs—to the letter. I treat every guest as if they were my own family pet.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - St. Catharines
Jade was amazing!! We had a sitter booked 3 weeks prior and had a last minute cancellation… Jade took Teddy on with only one day notice and he had an absolute blast! This was the longest we’ve been away from him and it was so wonderful to receive pic updates throughout the day and see his happy face having so much fun!! (she also had another puppy that was teddys age and I’m so thankful she was so willing to take on both pups). When we came to pick up teddy the other pup was crying because teddy had to leave. I would highly recommend jade and we will absolutely be using her again in the future! She is our new top pic for a sitter on rover and we’re so thankful for her!! Thank you from the bottom to the top of our hearts Jade! ❤️❤️

Could ask for a better dog sitter situation 🥰 Clare is the sweetest and clearly loves animals & my pup loves her back! He is so spoiled and gets to live his best life hanging out with Clare and Geddy while I have to work. She sends adorable photos and makes she he is well cared for throughout the day. 10/10 highly recommended!

Monica provided excellent care to Sully and was extremely professional in assuring me that he would be watched carefully. I appreciated the meet and greet and her effort to drive to Welland to do so. She is a lovely person and takes great pride in offering the best care possible. We will see you again!

Bo had an amazing fun time with Connor! We definitely recommend Connor to care for you fur baby. We'll be back for sure! Connor was quick to respond to messages and actually did things with Bo rather than keep him in the backyard all day. Bo was happy to be included in Connor's activities and hang out with Connor when Bo was ready to rest. Thanks Connor for taking great care of our pup!

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your St. Catharines commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ON ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 84% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 91% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
