“Lenny had a great time with Kirti and her husband. He had a bout of diarrhea just before we dropped him off. But they had probotics and were able to solve the issue! He came back tired and hungry, all good signs he had lots of exercise and love!”

“We just picked Kaydee up from her first overnight boarding at Charles and Lori home with their dog Fiona Kaydee is tired but happy, she is 7 months old so we are very happy that Kaydee and Fiona got along so well Charles is very responsive, he sent us pics and videos of Kaydee and Fiona playing We look forward to kaydees upcoming stay with Charles Thank you again”

“Iltze is absolutely lovely! She was so kind and gentle with my cat, and he bonded with her immediately. While he boarded with her, she sent me photos & videos everyday, and it was such a relief to see him so safe, comfortable, and happy. At the end of his stay, he actually refused to go back into his cage to come home with me!!! This has never happened before haha. I’m so glad we found Iltze; I’ve already booked more stays with her ❤️”

“Laura was great! She communicated throughout the whole process and sent tons of photos which was much appreciated. Plenty of engaging activities, exercise and playtime were provided throughout the weekend. It is clear that Laura genuinely cares and is knowledgeable about dogs. Looking forward to taking my pup back to stay with Laura and Daisy soon!”

About: I'm an experienced and hard-working sitter in the Kingston area, offering peace of mind that your home and little ones are well taken care of in your absence. I have lived with animals my entire life. Naturally, I understand you're seeking the best possible care for your little ones, and that's exactly what I strive to provide. I've been a Pawshake sitter since February 2019 and have been loving every moment of making so many new four-legged friends! About my services: HOME VISITS consist of one afternoon or evening visit that lasts up to 45 minutes, depending on your pet's needs. During this visit, I would feed your pet(s), refresh their water dish, play & socialize with them, clean their litter box, and so on. I'm also happy to water your plants, bring your mail inside and take out garbage/recycling when needed. HOME BOARDING at my spacious, ground-level apartment means that your cat or dog would stay with me and my pets for overnights over an extended period of time. You can rest assured that your feline friends will get tons of pats and cuddles, and that dogs will be walked twice a day with plenty of opportunities to run around the yard in between. All you need to bring is their food, treats, and leash! I also offer HOUSE SITTING. The house sitting option means Birdie, Bowie and I would stay at your residence round the clock, provided I don’t have any bookings for home boarding at the requested time. This service would be ideal for households with both cats and dogs, or for animals who have a harder time adjusting to new environments. My apartment is puppy-proofed, equipped with puppy pads if needed, two litter boxes (scooped daily), and lots of toys, beds, and treats for cats and dogs alike. It's clean and spacious, with big windows for bird-watching. I have a very large, fenced-in yard for tons of extra play time, rain or shine. I have installed pet gates with built-in cat doors throughout the apartment, so cats and small dogs can have their privacy away from the larger guests when I am unable to supervise. About my pets: I have two pets of my own: An easygoing, playful, and extremely dog-savvy black cat named Gigi Luigi (4 years, male, neutered) who loves making new kitty friends, and a flat coat retriever/labradoodle named Bowie (3 years, female, spayed). Both would relish the extra company and have been socialized to respect animals of all shapes and sizes. Both are also up to date on their vaccines. I think that covers it! Thanks for giving my page a gander. I hope to meet you and your little ones soon! ☺️ I do work full-time as a community mental health nurse, but working in the community means I can drop by my home for short visits as many times per day as needed, and spend my lunch break at home every day as well. I take Bowie for 1-2 off leash adventures every day, whether or not I am working. I have a large, fenced yard and a friendly pup of my own to keep yours occupied, and would be taking them on and off leash adventure at least once a day, regardless of whether I work. I also have the flexibility to pop into my home throughout the day on days I do work, so the pups get frequent potty breaks and are never left alone for long stretches.
“Josephine recently took care of my 2 standard poodles - 12 years old and 4 years old. The 4 year old was rehomed to me a year ago and is a challenging dog. Josephine was just fantastic with both of them - taking care of the 12 year old's mobility issues and making sure the 4 year old was exercised and entertained. It was so clear from the photos Josephine sent that both pups were having a grand time and we have already booked their next stay!”

About: I have been pet sitting since I was in elementary school for my friends and family and have loved them ever since. I enjoy every moment I spend with animals and love to hike so it’s perfect for me! I am a part-time soccer coach for elementary age children, and work evenings on the weekdays and mornings on the weekends, but other than that my schedule is pretty free! I have a fairly spacious house and yard! We are a smoke-free and caring home filled with animal lovers! We have a few pets but they are all calm and inviting! (A 2 year old cat and a 30 year old turtle)
“Carli is an amazing pet sitter and a real gem for both pets and their owners. What sets Carli apart is not just her fantastic pet care, but also the added joy her two dogs and caring kids bring to the mix. They all turned out to be fantastic playmates for Delilah, making her stay not just comfortable but a home away from home. Carli's flexibility, easy communication, and the cozy environment of her home make the whole experience worry-free. I highly recommend Carli for her outstanding pet care services.”

About: I will take care of your pet as if it's mine, and I'm doing it just because i love then but can't have mine at this time. I have had my own cats and dog and I know them well. Thank you for trusting me, i will do my best to make you and your pet happy. I am a graduate student and my schedule is completely flexible during the summer. I just need to know 1 day in advance so i can plan my day. I am living in a relatively big apartment with an unfenced yard. Pets allowed everywhere and on bed. I don't have other pets, and I will be here until October.
“Karli was very accommodating to Miss Sallie. Her warm welcoming dog friendly home and fenced yard allowed us to be stress free leaving are fur family there. She will top of my list next time we require overnight care for Sallie 💕😊”

“Charlee and Max stayed with Arshpreet and her family for 2 days, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. We received regular updates throughout their stay, including photos, which gave us great peace of mind. It was clear our dogs were in good, trustworthy care. Highly recommend & will certainly book again.”

“We were very relaxed (out of country) knowing our babies were with Christine, very kind lady. My fur babies also enjoyed being with her 2 fur babies, good play dates. They were content in the regular pictures she sent us. I would certainly recommend her.”

“We left our dog Happy with Deb and James for four days and he had a wonderful time. Lots of walks and cuddles. We were sent photos regularly showing Happy out and about exploring Gananoque. On pickup he was glad to see us but also very relaxed and not in a rush to leave! Thanks Deb and James. I can highly recommend these dog sitters!”

“Alana was absolutely amazing! She was able to take my dog on short notice and took great care of him! She sent me lots of updates and photos throughout his stay with her and she really exceeded expectations in caring for my giant ball of energy doggo.”

“We are so grateful for the amazing care you gave my dog while we were away for the hockey tournament. You were very accommodating (especially short notice) and went above and beyond to make sure Aurora felt comfortable (pictures speak for themselves). The many pictures you shared gave our family peace of mind, so thank you! We couldn't have asked for better caregivers! See you soon for the next tournament :)”

Anna & Aleksei are the best pet sitters you could ask for! Our puppy, Ernie, had an amazing week with them. They provided us with daily updates which gave us such peace of mind since we were so nervous to leave him with a sitter for the first time. They made sure he kept up with training, got lots of love and had so much fun. We wouldn’t want to leave Ernie with anyone else 😊

Krista and Jake took amazing care of my boy! He can be nervous and they were very patient and welcoming. They sent frequent updates and were very responsive. They did anything they could do help him feel comfortable. Because of that, I was also able to feel comfortable and relax while away from him. Overall awesome people! :)

Stephen, Holly, and their family were wonderful hosts for our puppy, Cedar! This was Cedar’s first overnight stay away from us, and we came home to a happy, healthy, and tired pup. We really appreciated the photo updates, prompt communication, reliability, and their willingness to care for a high energy 6.5 month old puppy. It gave us great peace of mind while we were away. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again in the future!

We couldn't be any happier with Terra's stay with Brigit and Rob. We knew she was in good hands which made our trip that much better. Terra is an older dog with some issues that make it difficult leaving her with others. Definitely not with them and we will definitely look at leaving Terra with them again.

Kate was great!! We agreed to a meet and greet so Kate could meet Tucker before we made any final decisions on boarding ( so luck would have it, in the rain 😀 ) Drop off was quick and easy, and within a short period of time we were receiving pictures and updates of how things were going. Kate was very communicative and was constantly giving us updates on how Tucker was doing. This definitely put my mind at ease as this was the first time in 7 years that we needed to leave our fur baby with someone other than immediate family. Tucker got to enjoy lots of long walks, play time and of course lots of snuggles. We would be more than happy to hire Kate again to watch Tucker ❤️

We left our dog with Owen for the weekend and they seemed to really enjoy the time theh had with our dog. He was very attentive to her needs and took real good care of her. Blue heelers have a lot of energy, but Owen seemed to match her. If ever we're passing through Kingston again we would feel good leaving her with Owen.

Thomas did an great job with our cat Rosie. I really felt like she was loved while there. The house itself was also spacious so she had lots of space to roam. Rosie has medical issues and so needs meds at very specific times of day and Thomas made sure to let us know that she got them. I would definitely have him cat-sit for is again 😊

We had the most incredible experience with Catharine. Our family had booked a vacation months ago and arranged dog boarding back in January for our pup, Clover. Just a few days before we were supposed to fly out of the country, our original boarder suddenly cancelled due to an unexpected personal situation. With our luggage packed and our departure coming up fast, we were in full panic mode trying to figure out who could take care of him last-minute (for 11 nights!). We started messaging every boarder in Kingston, and everyone was either booked, unavailable, or didn’t respond. Catharine was the only person who got back to us with a 'yes' right away. We had never met her before, so we were understandably anxious. She offered to meet us the very next day, just a few hours before she was scheduled to catch a train to Toronto. From the moment we met her, she was warm, friendly, and instantly put us at ease. While we were away with the kids, she sent us daily photos, videos, and updates. Those updates meant the world to us. Clover bonded with her so quickly, and it was clear he was having a wonderful time. She even went out of her way to give him fruit and veggie treats like strawberries and cucumbers, took him on lots of walks, let him sunbathe outside, practiced the tricks our kids taught him, and gave him all the cuddles he could ever want. Catharine turned one of the most stressful moments of our dog‑ownership lives into something genuinely positive. Clover was loved, cared for, and happy the entire time. We are so grateful for her kindness and the way she stepped in when we needed help the most. We would give her 6 stars if we could! Thank you, Catharine!

Peter has been very easy to work with and conscientious about updating me on our dogs activities including photos every day. Our Dexter loved being with him and his Golden retriever Sia who he played with. It was like sending Dexter to camp. Would not hesitate to recommend Peter.

Caitlin is a natural with animals and really cares. She was wonderful for me and my dog Harry. Used her for overnight boarding but I was really nervous as Harry was going to an unknown sitter. We had a great meet and Harry had a great time. He is fast asleep now after a busy 24hrs of walking, playing fetch in the back garden, dog Park visits and a waterfront walk today! I will be using her again. Great communication, always answering my random Harry questions and always sending reassuring pictures of his activities. Thank you so much. Of note I was concerned about her living in an apartment but, there was no need she has a long garden with direct access from her door - First time Rover user in Canada from a Verified dog mum.

Dhanesha and her partner were great hosts. She sent me constant updates and she didn't hesitate to take our dog who is 150lbs. He almost didn't want to come back :) They have also looked after my parents senior GR and he still looks out the window for her to come along!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
