“Peter was amazing! He was prompt and communicative about how my cat was doing while I was away, and I felt so much relief knowing my boy was in good hands! Absolutely recommen!”

“Melina was a consummate professional, it was great getting regular updates on our little girl while we were on vacation. She was very kind and attentive, offered to look after our house plants while we were gone as well, even kept an eye on the house while we were away and gave us lots of assurance that we would come home to everything sorted. Would recommend her, and book her again without hesitation.”
“Lori has taken excellent care of our senior cat Pinkie over multiple different occasions when we have been out of town! She adapted to Pinkie’s many different quirks and sent us regular (adorable) updates with photos. She is always making sure to give Pinkie lots of love and attention during her visits. I know my sweet little lady is in good hands with Lori.”

“Treena was a pleasure to have taking care of my cats. This was my first time using Rover and I was nervous about the process, but Treena was helpful with answering questions, providing insight, and clearly communicating. Treena was on time, took great pictures, and charted feedback appropriately (which was helpful for someone anxious like me, who always wonders how my much-loved pets are when I'm away). She offered to go above and beyond what was asked of her and kept the place neat. Treena was an excellent cat-sitter, and we will indeed book with her again!”

“Myriam was absolutely wonderful with our elderly dachshund. She was conscientious, prompt and kind. I received updates and photos. Our sweet pup was happy and clam when we returned, a sign she had a great day. I am looking forward to having Myriam back to care for our sweet pup in the future!”

“Shelley is so awesome! I could tell that she genuinely cared about my cat, and she took great care of him (she even learned how to give him his inhaler!) Henry loved hanging out with her, and I would absolutely ask her to care for him again :)”

“Being new to the area, I was having some serious angst about leaving my dog when I have to work. My dog is my world; I initially struggled with entrusting her care to a stranger. A neighbour had suggested Rover and I decided to try it out. Susan is absolutely lovely! She really made me (and my pooch) feel comfortable. Her love of animals is quite clear (my pooch really took to her!) and her reassurance was just what I needed. While I was at work I did not worry about my fur baby at all! I had every confidence she was in great hands:) The pictures Susan sent were evidence of the great time that was had! I recommend Susan for your pet sitting needs 100%.”

About: Growing up with our family dog I’ve gained lots of experience. I am very patient and loving! With my years caring for different dogs, I learned to be strict (any rules you may want your fur babies to follow), this helps me keeping them safe! I enjoy spending time with animals and pick up their personalities and traits. If you would like, I’d love to get to know your pets and have a great time together with them:) I am a university student. I am mature and dependable! I only have few classes at the moment so I spend most time at home and available for walks and play time. I have a good sized apartment for your fur baby to hang out. My cat Ellie can be super friendly when we take the introduction slow. I live close to city park and I would be honoured to walk your dog:)
About: Hi! I’m a third year Queen’s University student who seriously misses having dogs around while I’m at school! Back home, I have six dogs of my own (yes, six lol! chaos, love, and fur everywhere), and I’ve fostered over 100 dogs throughout my lifetime with many different dog rescues. Basically, my life resume is just… dogs. I love pups of all ages, from high-energy puppies to sweet senior dogs who just want a slower stroll and some extra love. A few of my dogs have been through puppy school, where we both learned tricks, so I’m comfortable reinforcing basic training, routines, and good walking manners. I truly believe dogs are better than humans (no offence), and I treat every dog like they’re my own. Whether your pup needs a long adventure walk, a potty break, or just someone who genuinely loves being around dogs, I’ve got them covered. Your dog’s safety, happiness, and tail wags are always my top priority 🐾 Since I am a university student with a mix of in-person and online classes, that leaves me with lots of consistent free time between classes. My schedule doesn’t change week to week, and I’m free most weekends for walks, drop-ins, and quality pup time! When caring for pets in a client’s home, I always follow their routines closely so they feel safe, comfortable, and happy. I have experience with dogs of all ages and temperaments, from playful puppies to gentle seniors, and I treat every dog like they’re my own. I prioritize safety on walks, keep spaces tidy, and provide regular updates and photos so owners can relax knowing their pup is in great hands:)
About: Hello! I'm Thalia, and I live in downtown Kingston neighbourhood close to many parks. I am a graduate student with a flexible schedule. I grew up with and cared for a Wheaton Terrier for 14 years, and have been a dog lover my whole life. With such a flexible work schedule, I have a lot of free time that I'd love to spend hanging with a doggo! I am comfortable with dogs of all ages. I can give outdoor breaks whenever needed, and at least a 30-60 minute walk each day. I'm happy to follow special care instructions and can help with medication if needed. I will make sure that your dog has a very fun, safe and comfortable time with lots of love and attention! As I work from home full time, I am very flexible and can include pet care into my daily routine to fit the needs of your pets 😊 I live close to many parks for lots of outdoor play time, and in a safe neighbourhood for long walks. I do not yet have a dog of my own, so can devote all my attention to taking care of yours!
About: I have been pet sitting since I was in elementary school for my friends and family and have loved them ever since. I enjoy every moment I spend with animals and love to hike so it’s perfect for me! I am a part-time soccer coach for elementary age children, and work evenings on the weekdays and mornings on the weekends, but other than that my schedule is pretty free! I have a fairly spacious house and yard! We are a smoke-free and caring home filled with animal lovers! We have a few pets but they are all calm and inviting! (A 2 year old cat and a 30 year old turtle)
“Luke was punctual and my pup, who is cautious with people, warmed up to him almost instantly. He took the time to get to know our feeding/walk routine and asked all the right questions to ensure pups safety moving forward. Thank you Luke!!”

About: I grew up always in the country and always had family cats and dogs, and was involved in pet care and training from a young age. I adopted my cat three years ago and enjoy pet sitting both cats and dogs! I have experience with walking and caring for reactive dogs as well. I am a master’s student and Queen’s and I work part time hours. I have availability everyday depending on time frame for walks and drop-ins! For house sitting, I am available for overnight stays if required. Gentle but firm approach, always on leash unless in a known, enclosed area. Exercise and enrichment are a priority for me, as well as outdoor time for dogs.
“Alyce took great care of my two cats while we were away for a few days, and developed skills related to drawing up and administering insulin to our diabetic cat. She was enthusiastic, willing to learn, reliable and friendly and we could not be more pleased with her service! She was also very prompt with her responses and we would be happy to have her care for them again :)”

About: Hi! My name is Ashleigh, I’m a second-year politics student at Queen’s University. I’m responsible, easy to reach, and I take looking after other people’s pets seriously. I’ve grown up around both big and small dogs, so I’m very comfortable with different breeds and temperaments. I’ve also had my own cat for almost two years, and I’ve lived with and helped take care of a kitten as well, so I’m used to the different needs cats have. I’m confident with feeding, walking, medication, and just making sure pets are comfortable and well cared for while you’re away. I am currently living in Kingston full-time over the summer, and only occasionally go away to visit family, so I'm typically available whenever you need! When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I try to keep everything as close to their normal routine as possible so they feel comfortable. For drop-ins or overnight stays, I make sure they’re fed on time, have fresh water, get enough exercise, and get attention and playtime. For walks, I adjust to the dog’s energy level and make sure they’re safe and getting a good outing. If I’m staying overnight, I keep things calm and consistent so they’re not stressed while you’re away. I’m also happy to follow any specific instructions, and I can send updates if you’d like, so you know everything’s going well.
About: With nearly a decade of pet-sitting experience, I have helped with training cats and dogs in skills such as "sit", "down", and "high-five". I have a six-year-old Australian Labradoodle, whom I regularly care for. I'm a student in Kingston and work as a lifeguard/swim instructor, so my schedule varies by season. I like to plan my Rover commitments monthly and prioritize dog walking services. I enjoy providing pet care while I'm away from my hometown (Ottawa), as I have a dog of my own whom I miss dearly. When providing house sitting services, I am dedicated to maintaining open communication with clients via daily texts, photos, and/or emails. Please let me know of your pet's favourite activities, including walks, playing fetch, arranging play-dates, and visiting dog parks.
“Shirley was great with our cat, Maisie! She was responsive, prompt, and provided updates while we were away. I felt comfortable leaving Maisie in her care while we were gone for the holidays”

About: I have lots of experience babysitting my auntie’s 3 dogs (Corgi, Newfoundland doodle mix, Golden Retriever) and my uncle’s Husky mix. I’ve always been very passionate about dogs and really wanted one, but have been unable to because of my mom’s allergy. I’m a responsible student at Queen’s university who will make sure to treat your dog with lots of love. As a university student, I have classes during the day but am usually available from the afternoon onwards on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. My weekends are also usually free, so I will have lots of time to ensure the pups have a good experience. I live in an apartment on the fourth floor (we have an elevator), which is a little difficult for keeping large dogs in for extended periods of time, but I will make sure that your pup spends lots of time exercising outside.
“i hired mary to check in & walk my rescue girl rayon on a full day i would be away. i wanted rayon to be comfortable with someone coming (hello separation anxiety) so i requested a couple walks beforehand. as soon as i met mary i immediately felt at ease leaving my girl with her. she is incredibly patient, grounding, and so loving! (with some great training tips up her sleeve) mary kept me in the loop with each visit which allowed me to enjoy my day. thank you so much - ray & i are grateful to have found you! we both look forward to seeing you again!”

Britney took wonderful care of my cat during a long period when I was away. Haru is a very shy cat, but Britney was patient, thoughtful, and gentle with her, and I could tell Haru was in very good hands. I would definitely recommend Britney to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.

Treena did a great job of caring for my two cats while I was away. She was very easy to communicate and organize a meet & greet with and was great with my animals. She was punctual and sent meaningful updates that made me feel reassured that I wasn't just being sent stock responses. She also sent pictures with each check-in which I always appreciate. She followed the instructions well and I had no issues at all over the weekend, would definitely book again!

Alyce took such good care of my two cats while I was traveling for a week. She sent lovely photos during each visit and shared thoughtful updates, which gave me great peace of mind while I was away. My cats were happy and well cared for when I came back. Alyce is reliable, caring, and easy to communicate with. I would definitely recommend her!

Myriam did an excellent job on all levels with the feeding, litter cleaning, entertaining Polly and especially keeping me posted both with pics and messages so I was always confident and happy that all was well. Myriam was also very professional in her approach to the assignment making sure visits were timely, and really went all out to leave things clean and tidy I will highly recommend Myriam to others an my own future use. Thanks Myriam

Anna and Aleksei were amazing! They took great care of Joe, sent thoughtful updates and photos after every visit, and were incredibly attentive. During one visit they noticed something wasn't right, found that Joe had accidentally gotten himself stuck in the bathroom, stayed longer to make sure he was okay, and even offered to come back later that day at no extra charge to make sure he was okay. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was in such caring hands. I would absolutely book with them again and highly recommend them!

Tess was amazing with my cat Toby! She was reliable, kind, and kept me updated throughout her visits, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I really appreciated how attentive she was and how well she cared for him. I came home knowing Toby had been safe and looked after, and I would absolutely book with her again. Highly recommend!

Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
