“Myriam is a very reliable, punctual, kind and caring person who loves our pups and ensures they get some valuable time outside for a break and exercise while we work long hours away from home. We love and appreciate having her help us help our dogs who we care deeply for and it is nice to have someone who feels the same. Thank you Myriam! We look forward to continuing scheduled walks for our dogs with your support!”

“Maya has been such a reliable support for our pup. She shares fun pics and our pup loves when she comes. She adjusts and takes our guy for walks in the shade when needed. She is quick to respond. She has been a great help and we feel lucky to have her support.”

About: I have been pet sitting since I was in elementary school for my friends and family and have loved them ever since. I enjoy every moment I spend with animals and love to hike so it’s perfect for me! I am a part-time soccer coach for elementary age children, and work evenings on the weekdays and mornings on the weekends, but other than that my schedule is pretty free! I have a fairly spacious house and yard! We are a smoke-free and caring home filled with animal lovers! We have a few pets but they are all calm and inviting! (A 2 year old cat and a 30 year old turtle)
“Vanessa was so great! She tracked how many pee’s my little gremlin took (she marks her territory) and she brought in two of my packages for me which is so nice. Thank you so much Vanessa! Will definitely be contacting you again”

“Terra-Lee, is a major life-saver! I recently moved to Kingston and in the middle of moving-in, organizing, and new job orientation. Terra-Lee was able to help me on such short notice with Marco. I sincerely appreciate”

About: I’ve loved animals my whole life and have years of hands-on experience caring for pets of all kinds. I currently have a German Shepherd/Husky mix, and caring for her has taught me the importance of consistency, exercise, enrichment, patience, and understanding that every pet has their own unique personality and needs. I know every pet is different, and I take the time to learn their routine, preferences, and any special instructions so they feel comfortable and safe while you’re away. Whether your pet loves walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply having someone keep them company, I’m happy to provide the care they need. I’m dependable, patient, and treat every pet as if they were my own. My goal is to make sure both you and your pet feel completely at ease while you’re apart. I also love sending plenty of photo updates so you can see how they’re doing. As a Queen’s University student with most of my classes online, I have a flexible schedule and can plan my days around your pet’s needs. Whether it’s walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, or overnight care, I’m committed to providing reliable, attentive care. I’ll always communicate clearly, arrive on time, and keep you updated with photos and messages so you know your pet is happy and well cared for. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn their routine, personality, and any special instructions so they can stay as comfortable and stress-free as possible. I’ll make sure they have plenty of exercise, enrichment, fresh food and water, and lots of love and attention. I treat every pet like family and will always respect both your home and your pet’s routine. If I notice anything unusual, I’ll let you know right away.
“Juno started whimpering when he saw Thomas arrive for his walk. On a cold, windy, rainy day - Juno had no other hope for exercise. He gives 4 stars. He said he’d give 5 but Thomas didn’t have steak in his pocket.”

About: My family has owned a pet sitting business for 20 plus years. I have hands-on experience caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments. I am a university student with a super flexible schedule. I am available 7 days a week! I can also tailor based on clients needs I treat all pets as I would my own. It is my priority to ensure I follow all client preferences and maintain the routine that the pets have with their owners.
About: I've had pets my whole life, I've helped on farms, even helped a new cat momma with birthing a litter. I absolutely love animals and would love to care for your little (or big) furry companion. I work full-time as a Deafblind Intervention Specialist. My work is mobile by nature, meaning I'm on the road driving clients around and I can accomodate pee-breaks or walks during my lunch hour and/or between clients. I'm very flexible on the weekends as well and can also accomodate evenings. I respect the autonomy of the pet as well as trust that their human has their best interest in mind and commit to providing them the standard of care that they expect for their pet.
About: I have loved and worked with animals for over 10 years and am passionate about helping animals find safe, loving homes. As a foster parent with the Kingston Humane Society, I have helped care for and place many cats into their forever homes. I have experience working with cats with specific medical and behavioural needs, including overweight cats, senior cats, and cats recovering from dental procedures and surgeries. I have also worked with local humane societies to help raise funds for spay and neuter programs and have worked to support adoption efforts within the community! I have all a cat would need at my place! All you need to do is bring your kitty. Feel free to message me if you have any questions at all. I work from home, so I’m able to give your pet plenty of attention, companionship, or quiet alone time depending on their needs and personality. I always try to make pets feel as safe and comfortable as possible. With cats especially, I usually let them come to me first instead of forcing interaction since every cat is different. If they want attention and cuddles, I’m happy to give them lots of love, but if they’d rather have their own space, that’s totally okay too. I try to stick to their normal routine as much as possible and make sure they have a calm, clean, and low-stress environment. Through fostering, I’ve worked with a lot of shy, senior, and special-needs cats, so I’ve learned how important patience and trust are when caring for animals.
“Luke is the dog whisperer. He is so great with our two dogs Monty and Loki. With the dogs having different needs, Luke quickly understood them and made the accommodations to make sure both dogs were comfortable and happy. Thanks Luke, you’re awesome!”
About: I have taken care of cats and dogs since I was a young child. Growing up in an environment full of animals has taught me great responsibility and the importance of following owner instructions and ensuring animal safety. I grew up with an Australian Shepherd and three cats until their old age. Then I grew up with a Bernese Mountain Dog, three more cats, and a German Shepherd. Cash, our German Shepherd, is 11 years old and thriving, and he lives a privileged life with his sister, a calico cat named Krissy, who is 16. As someone who leaves detailed instructions on how to care for Cash and Krissy, I understand and respect the rules that owners have for their fur babies, as they are not suggestions but rules to keep their pets safe. And I intend to do just that, while making sure they are happy. I am a student in Kingston near Portsmouth Village and available most mornings, evenings, and on weekends when I do not have classes (excluding Thursdays). In Client Home: I follow the pet's existing schedule, including walks and feeding. I make sure that all hazards are removed and appropriate doors are locked/closed to ensure the pet is safe. I also make sure that the environment is clean, including litter boxes and waste bags, for the pet's safety and to respect the owner's home.

We've hired Tessa multiple times, and our pets LOVE her. She's always so responsive and has always been able to help out with a last minute request. We get so many cute photos and updates, and we know our pets are so well taken care of when we leave them with Tessa. So thankful we have someone we can trust our pets with. :)

Sofia is absolutely amazing!!! Such a kind and wonderful girl. I broke my foot and my partner needed to be away for work, therefore I could not take our dog Aura out for her walks. Sofia was extremely punctual for Aura’s walks and very lovely to talk to, plus accommodating of different schedule times of my partner not being home on different days. Aura would wait at our door for her Sofia walks.

Jordan came to walk my Clara for the first time. She was friendly, punctual and I felt that my pup was in very competent and caring hands. I’m looking forward to having Jordan back again. Clara happily trotted off with Jordan which told me all I needed to know.

Both my pets and I love Mary. My pup is getting older and Mary was more than comfortable carrying her up the stairs during her visit and had zero hesitation with the other animals in my home. She was very responsive and sends the cutest photos of her time caring for my pets. From my little zoo, we thank you again!💗 🐶🐱🐰

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kingston choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
