“Thank you to Linda and Bob for taking such good care of Chester for the week. Chester enjoys his time there and comes home happy, we really appreciate how they make him a part of their family.”

“Another successful stay at Holly’s. You know your dog is well taken care of when they get all excited when going to the babysitters. As usual, Holly provided daily updates and a pic to keep me updated. It’s nice to be able to go away, knowing your dog is in good hands.”

“Our doggy had an absolute blast. We were sent photos regularly and you can tell they have a lot of dog experience. We felt very comfortable leaving our Doberman with them, all his needs were met. It was a pleasure meeting Brigit and Rob, our doggy can’t wait to see you both again very soon.”

“Ricci was great with my dog Macduff. She was kind enough to text me as to how he was doing while I was away. Macduff was extremely happy with his stay. I couldn't recommend her more highly!”

“Excellent. So easy to work with this lovely young couple who watched over my senior cat for a few nights. They made sure she was comfortable and sent me many photos throughout. My cat arrived home in good spirits and in good health. Pamesha communicated very well with me the entire time, from drop off to pick up, which made me feel comfortable knowing my old cat was in good hands. :)”

“Indy was well looked after at Kristiina’s home. She was in very good spirits when I picked her up. Kristiina adapted (enjoyed!) to her little quirks easing any stress that Indy might have had with her first stay. I will not hesitate to leave Indy in her care in the future.”

“Robyn was great, she looked after my Great Dane for a weekend, she sent me frequent updates on his activities and let me know he was settling in well, which calmed my fears as an anxious dog mom. I’d highly recommend Robyn for anyone looking for a calm and caring pet sitter.”

“I had a wonderful experience with Dhanesha! She took excellent care of my dog, Rose, while I was away. From the daily updates with photos to the thoughtful attention to Rose's needs, everything was perfect. Dhanesha is reliable and trustworthy. I came home to a happy and well-cared-for pet. I highly recommend Dhanesha to anyone looking for top-notch pet care.”

“Heather is an excellent sitter! Penny enjoyed her longer stay with her. Heather sent photos every day which I appreciated. I will be using her again in the near future.”

“Was worried leaving Charlie alone with strangers for the first time but Brynn made him feel right at home. He received lots of cuddles and play time with the children. So happy with Brynn and her family that already ask if she would take him again when we go away next time. Highly recommend Brynn”

“Caitlin was wonderful! She gave lots of updates and comforted Nikki through a thunderstorm. Her dog is absolutely lovely and Nikki became fast friends. Would absolutely rebook!”

“Words can not justly express how grateful I am to Stephen and Holly. The care they provided Saul during my extended time away was beyond extraordinary. It was not an easy time with harsh winter conditions but they ensured Saul was provided several walks a day as well as regular visits to dog parks for him to run and play. Saul is full of energy and very playful for being 13 months old so I’m sure it wasn’t always easy to meet his demands yet Stephen and Holly did. They treated him like a member of their family. They always send pictures of Saul keeping me posted of his activities. I especially enjoyed the pictures of Saul and family members when he would be resting near and in the arms of their family. I have to say I believe Saul is missing them and their dog George his new adopted family. I would not think of ever leaving Saul with anybody other than Stephen and Holly. You will not be disappointed.”

“We couldn’t have asked for better care for Hunter! This was his very first time away from our family, so we were naturally a little nervous. Vanessa and Paige went above and beyond to make sure he was happy, comfortable, and loved. They kept us updated with photos throughout his stay, took him swimming, and gave him so much attention and care. When we picked him up, he honestly looked even better than when we dropped him off! It gave us such peace of mind knowing he was in such kind, caring hands while we were away. Thank you so much, Paige and Vanessa, for treating Hunter like one of your own. We will absolutely be booking with you again, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for exceptional pet care!”

“We had a great experience with Ella looking after our dog. She sent regular updates throughout the day, which was really reassuring, and it was clear Ella was kind and loving. Our dog seemed happy and well cared for, and it looked like he had a great day. We’d definitely feel comfortable leaving him with Ella again!”

About: I grew up with a small family dog as a young child in our family home, and took the leap into adulthood and dog ownership on my own! Porter is a 5.5 year old male neutered bernedoodle. He's super spoiled and rules the house :-) He loves having a playmate around so we thought we'd check out the Rover scene! We have experience looking after our neighbours dogs (Golden retrievers and a yellow lab). I have used Rover as a pet parent for help during vacations, etc. I know how hard it is to find someone trustworthy that will follow instructions. We go on 4 walks a day - sometimes more with yard play thrown in. I work from home and have a flexible schedule to allow all the dog care! I'm familiar with medicating dogs, including allergy injections so I can assist with care like that if required. I'm guilty of taking so many pictures of my dog, especially when he has friends visit so please be comforted knowing you will get lots of updates! We live on a lake so if your dog loves to swim and loves pontoon boat rides, they will have one heck of a vacation :-) If you have multi dog family - I'm happy to host them all! Please - no cats. I currently work from home and have lots of time with my flexible schedule to accommodate walks, playtime, enrichment, etc. Porter can adjust to anyone else's schedule to make it easier, or we can do solo walks if that would be your preference. I do not have a fenced yard, but we go on leashed walked at least 4x a day - plus more playtime. Porter is allowed on furniture, so your dog is as well! There are no separate rooms for dogs in my house. He used to be crate trained and so i am familiar with it and can crate your dog if you require it.

Krista and Jacob took very good care of Penny for the two weeks I was away. They kept me informed every few days with photos, videos and updates on how Penny was doing. I fully appreciated their commitment to keeping me informed. I would highly recommend them to others.

Thanks so much for providing Seamus with such a friendly, safe 'home away from home' environment. We appreciated the time you took asking questions to better understand his personality traits and schedule, and the photos you provided of his activities. He enjoyed his many walks and looks forward to visiting again!

Stephen, Holly, and their family were wonderful hosts for our puppy, Cedar! This was Cedar’s first overnight stay away from us, and we came home to a happy, healthy, and tired pup. We really appreciated the photo updates, prompt communication, reliability, and their willingness to care for a high energy 6.5 month old puppy. It gave us great peace of mind while we were away. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again in the future!

Kate was great!! We agreed to a meet and greet so Kate could meet Tucker before we made any final decisions on boarding ( so luck would have it, in the rain 😀 ) Drop off was quick and easy, and within a short period of time we were receiving pictures and updates of how things were going. Kate was very communicative and was constantly giving us updates on how Tucker was doing. This definitely put my mind at ease as this was the first time in 7 years that we needed to leave our fur baby with someone other than immediate family. Tucker got to enjoy lots of long walks, play time and of course lots of snuggles. We would be more than happy to hire Kate again to watch Tucker ❤️

We left our dog with Owen for the weekend and they seemed to really enjoy the time theh had with our dog. He was very attentive to her needs and took real good care of her. Blue heelers have a lot of energy, but Owen seemed to match her. If ever we're passing through Kingston again we would feel good leaving her with Owen.

We had the most incredible experience with Catharine. Our family had booked a vacation months ago and arranged dog boarding back in January for our pup, Clover. Just a few days before we were supposed to fly out of the country, our original boarder suddenly cancelled due to an unexpected personal situation. With our luggage packed and our departure coming up fast, we were in full panic mode trying to figure out who could take care of him last-minute (for 11 nights!). We started messaging every boarder in Kingston, and everyone was either booked, unavailable, or didn’t respond. Catharine was the only person who got back to us with a 'yes' right away. We had never met her before, so we were understandably anxious. She offered to meet us the very next day, just a few hours before she was scheduled to catch a train to Toronto. From the moment we met her, she was warm, friendly, and instantly put us at ease. While we were away with the kids, she sent us daily photos, videos, and updates. Those updates meant the world to us. Clover bonded with her so quickly, and it was clear he was having a wonderful time. She even went out of her way to give him fruit and veggie treats like strawberries and cucumbers, took him on lots of walks, let him sunbathe outside, practiced the tricks our kids taught him, and gave him all the cuddles he could ever want. Catharine turned one of the most stressful moments of our dog‑ownership lives into something genuinely positive. Clover was loved, cared for, and happy the entire time. We are so grateful for her kindness and the way she stepped in when we needed help the most. We would give her 6 stars if we could! Thank you, Catharine!

Peter has been very easy to work with and conscientious about updating me on our dogs activities including photos every day. Our Dexter loved being with him and his Golden retriever Sia who he played with. It was like sending Dexter to camp. Would not hesitate to recommend Peter.

Caitlin is a natural with animals and really cares. She was wonderful for me and my dog Harry. Used her for overnight boarding but I was really nervous as Harry was going to an unknown sitter. We had a great meet and Harry had a great time. He is fast asleep now after a busy 24hrs of walking, playing fetch in the back garden, dog Park visits and a waterfront walk today! I will be using her again. Great communication, always answering my random Harry questions and always sending reassuring pictures of his activities. Thank you so much. Of note I was concerned about her living in an apartment but, there was no need she has a long garden with direct access from her door - First time Rover user in Canada from a Verified dog mum.

Dhanesha and her partner were great hosts. She sent me constant updates and she didn't hesitate to take our dog who is 150lbs. He almost didn't want to come back :) They have also looked after my parents senior GR and he still looks out the window for her to come along!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
