Your Dog's Next Favourite People!
My fiancée Jake and I lost our beautiful Greyhound, Witty, in October 2024. While we took some time to grieve, we missed having a dog around so much. Although we didn’t quite feel ready to adopt just yet, we started offering boarding services on Rover. I also began volunteering with ElderDog, and we fostered a dog in between boarding stays. Our ElderDog foster ended up needing a forever home, and that’s how our beautiful Old English Sheepdog, Milo, came into our lives. He is now permanently part of our family, and we are so grateful for this journey and for our new boy! We also continue to offer boarding services and love having other dogs in our home alongside Milo. We were very committed dog owners, with regular walks, cuddles, and lots of words of affirmation! Krista is an active walker, and Jake and myself are very used to lots of outdoor time even in the winter months. We live in a one story house but we do not have a yard, and we had a familiar routine that we would be committed to with your dog, too - an early morning walk with Jake, afternoon walks/bathroom breaks with Krista, and a nighttime walk with Krista and/or Jake. If your dog doesn't love a lot of regular walks or has mobility issues, no problem! We live in Portsmouth Village with plenty of parks within a minute or two of our home for a quick bathroom break instead. We currently have no children or other animals besides Milo in the home, and I work at home most days, so your dog wouldn't be home alone much or likely at all. We are familiar with keeping dogs leashed while outside, sensitive tummies, risks of bloat and feeding/exercise schedules, needing to use coats/boots in cold weather, nervousness/anxiety, administering medication, etc. and are happy to accommodate the needs of your pup. Looking forward to meeting you and your dog!

Ratings and reviews
Krista and Jacob took very good care of Penny for the two weeks I was away. They kept me informed every few days with photos, videos and updates on how Penny was doing. I fully appreciated their commitment to keeping me informed. I would highly recommend them to others.

Krista and Jake took amazing care of my boy! He can be nervous and they were very patient and welcoming. They sent frequent updates and were very responsive. They did anything they could do help him feel comfortable. Because of that, I was also able to feel comfortable and relax while away from him. Overall awesome people! :)

A big thank you to Krista and Jacob for looking after our Roxie for a month. They treated Roxie like she was their own dog. We got regular updates with video and pictures. Roxie had a bit of a health issue during her stay with them. But Krista and Jacob looked after her like we would monitoring her and making her special food. I don't think we can thank them enough for that. We would definitely recommend them with no hesitation.

Krista and Jacob were super accommodating and they sent lots of photos and updates of our boy. We have a high energy puppy and they were able to both physically and mentally stimulate him. Thanks so much guys!

Krista and Jacob were excellent! I could tell Zoey was comfortable with them during our meet and greet. They sent regular updates throughout Zoey’s stay. She looked like she was having a fun time with them! Would be happy to use their services again for Zoey in the future.

We felt completely safe and comfortable leaving our dog with Krista and Jacob. They offer meet and greets prior to boarding which really helped put us at ease. They are such a kind and welcoming couple and their home is extremely nice and inviting. They have a small fenced area that was just enough for our gal to do her business but also enjoys walking around their neighbourhood. Throughout our dogs stay, they sent frequent updates and lots of pictures, which we truly appreciated. We would not hesitate to leave our dog with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and loving home! Thank you again K&J

Calendar and availability
Schedule
I work at home most days, and am available for mid-day walks and bathroom breaks. We are both home most evenings as well. Your dog would likely not be alone at our house at all during their stay.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
We are very regular walkers: first thing in the morning, once or twice during the day, and once at night. This can be accommodated to meet the needs of your pup and their activity levels and needs. We are familiar with keeping dogs leashed while outside, sensitive tummies, risks of bloat and feeding/exercise schedules, needing to use coats/boots in cold weather, nervousness/anxiety, administering medication, etc. and are happy to accommodate any medical needs.

A typical day
Lots of walks, playing, and snuggling! If your dog likes the car, we could take a car ride over to Lake Ontario Park for a stroll or dip in the water.

- Let me know the fun activities your dog loves, like walking, playing with toys, the water, or anything else! If your dog has any aggression towards people and/or other dogs, that would be helpful to know beforehand so I can be sure to keep a tighter lead if we are around people and/or dogs, or avoid them when possible. Also, if your dog has any specific fears, requirements like 1-2 hours of rest before eating (to avoid bloat), or allergies/sensitivities, please let me know!
