“Ricci is the only person we will leave Westley with when we go out of town. She loves him like her own and always sends lots of great pictures and videos. She is incredibly kind and he adores staying with her! Thank you again Ricci ❤️”

“Thank you so much, Holly, for taking such good care of Hannie. I loved receiving a photo and message every morning and I didn't feel like I had to worry about her at all. We really appreciate how patient you were with our pup as she warmed up to a new space and new people. We hope your cats will agree that she can return in the future.”

About: Hey there! I’m Deanna — animal lover, treat‑giver, walk‑enthusiast, and certified “yes I talk to pets like they’re tiny hairy humans” person. 😄 I’ve had animals my whole life and have looked after pets with all sorts of medical needs. Giving meds? No problem. Special routines? I’m on it. Noticing when your pet is acting a little off? It’s basically my superpower. I’ve raised two puppies from 9 weeks old, so I know all about zoomies, chaos, snuggles, and the “why are you chewing that??” moments. I also adore senior pets — slow walks, soft voices, and gentle care are my jam. I’m pretty active, so if your dog wants adventures, I’m ready. If they prefer couch hangs and snacks… honestly, same. I work part‑time, which means I’ve got flexible availability on weekdays + weekends. I’m also open to overnight stays and weekend pet‑sitting if you need a little getaway. At home I’ve got two cats who are very chill with dogs as long as the dogs aren’t plotting to chase them. For everyone’s safety, I do ask that visiting pets are up to date on flea and tick prevention — gotta keep my furry roommates itch‑free. Your pet will be loved, spoiled, and treated like family. Can’t wait to meet your furry sidekick! 🐶🐱💛 I am currently working part time and have open hours to support your pet(s) weekdays and weekends. I am open to over night stays and weekend work. I have 2 cats who are okay with dogs as long as they don't have a prey drive and chase. I would require the pets coming in to have updated flea and tick to protect my babies.
“Charlee and Max stayed with Arshpreet and her family for 2 days, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. We received regular updates throughout their stay, including photos, which gave us great peace of mind. It was clear our dogs were in good, trustworthy care. Highly recommend & will certainly book again.”

“Kobi got some much-needed play time and I love that I know he'll be safe with Nelaida and Katie. Pick up and drop off work quick and easy love receiving pictures and updates on what he's doing and how he is. TYSM❤️”

“I had never boarded my dogs, an old, scared Golden Retriever and an energetic Border Collie-X so I was worried. When I met Robyn and saw her setup, I was confident that she was a good choice. Both dogs took to her right away. While I was away, Robyn sent me updates and photos every day. My Golden, Dakota didn't want to do much...I expected that. Genie, the border collie-x had a great time. She even found a playmate in one of the day borders. Robyn says my girls are always welcome back. I highly recommend her.”

“Dhanesha and her partner did a fabulous job boarding my dog Jax. He was given lots of cuddles and playtime. Lots of pictures were sent during his visit. I highly recommend!”

“Heather is the most wonderful dog sitter! She is warm and understanding of our pet’s needs and I cannot say enough about the quality of care that our Willow received from Heather while we were away at a wedding. Willow was well fed, walked, played with and snuggled! We really felt at ease knowing that she was in good hands. Heather sent us updates, photos and even a little video of how Willow was doing and having so much fun playing with her dog Alfie. We are so totally impressed with Heather!”

“Indy was well looked after at Kristiina’s home. She was in very good spirits when I picked her up. Kristiina adapted (enjoyed!) to her little quirks easing any stress that Indy might have had with her first stay. I will not hesitate to leave Indy in her care in the future.”

“Brigit and Robert were fabulous with Henry on his first over-nighter, including indulging his early breakfast. Their home is safe, cozy and beautiful, and they kept in great touch during his stay ... also sending pics along with the 'pup'-dates. Henry arrived home with that "I've just been to a spa" look on his face. He can't wait for another sleep over and his long stay in the fall. Thanks to both of you!!”
“Gabrielle was excellent. She took the time to meet ahead and explain her approach to dog care and answered all my questions. Very professional and timely communication as well. Thank-you!!”

“Amanda and her family were amazing with Maya. She became one of the family from taking piano lessons, enjoying story time and walks with the family. Maya loves children and Amanda has 2 of the sweetest. Her time with them has left her sleeping for a couple of days and a little sad missing them. They gave her all the attention she loves. Amanda kept me updated daily and followed Maya’s daily routine. I was nervous in the beginning leaving Maya with someone new but was immediately calmed by the love shown to her. Thank you Amanda”

“Caitlin was so good with our big dog. She provided updates and photos. Thank you so much for taking good care of Miles! We will contact Caitlin again when we come back to the Kingston area (or anywhere East Ontario). 😁”

“Pamesha and her partner have been absolutely amazing with Delilah! From the very beginning, they were incredibly responsive, making communication smooth and stress-free. They treated Delilah like one of their own—with so much love, attention, and care. It's clear they’re both true dog lovers who go above and beyond. We felt completely at ease knowing Delilah was in such kind and capable hands. Whether it was updates, photos, or quick responses to our messages, they kept us informed and reassured the entire time. Delilah came home happy, well-exercised, and clearly adored. We’re so grateful for the peace of mind they provided and wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again. Highly recommend!”

“Carli took really great care of my 10 year old standard poodle Buddy. She kept me up-to-date with photos and text messages and took him walking with her dog Tulip. She took good care of a (minor) medical condition; he was clearly pampered by both her and her kids - she clearly loves dogs. I will definately use her services again.”

“A big relief knowing my dog was in good hands while I was away. From all the pics it looks like he had a great time! Next time I need a dog sitter, Tammy will be my first choice!”

“Amazing service! Brynn was so accommodating with last minute changes in schedule and was very responsive. She took great care of our girls and sent the sweetest photos of them swimming with her kiddos! She was able to administer our dog’s antibiotic with no issues. We loved that she had a fenced-in yard for the dogs to hang out in. We definitely felt confident that our girls were in good hands!”

“Our dog had a lovely time staying with Stephen and his family. Stephen was very responsive and flexible. He sent much appreciated photos during the stay. Would be happy to leave our dog with him anytime!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
