Gabrielle was responsive and caring from the start. Understood we hadn’t left our puppy behind before and were anxious. She made us feel comfortable and shared daily photos and updates. We are grateful for her opening her home and heart to our Benny . Thanks so much!

We received regular updates throughout their stay, including photos, which gave us great peace of mind. It was clear our dogs were in good, trustworthy care. Highly recommend & will certainly book again.

Kasi was amazing! My family and I took a 10 day trip down to Florida. Kasi made sure that both myself and my pup felt comfortable before we went away. We did a meet and greet with my boy and her golden, and then we did a full day of doggy daycare. Kasi gave me daily updates and pictures. It was so great to see my boy having such a good time with her golden. I’m so happy we went with Kasi! I will definitely contact her again in the future!

About: We’ve spent most of our lives around dogs and cats, and caring for animals has always been a big part of our home. We’ve raised one of our dogs since he was just 6 weeks old, and he’s now over 13 years old. We’ve also cared for a blind, diabetic dog for many years, giving us hands-on experience with senior and special-needs care, including daily insulin injections, eye drops, medication routines, and the extra patience and attention older pets often need. Between us, we have experience with a wide range of breeds and personalities, including Huskies and Great Pyrenees. We also shared our home for two years with a Treeing Walker Coonhound and a Beagle alongside our own dogs and cats, giving us experience with energetic hounds and managing a busy multi-pet household. We’ve raised our two cats since they were kittens, and we both have years of experience living with and caring for cats. We’re comfortable with pets of different ages, sizes, energy levels, temperaments, and care needs. We tend to connect naturally with animals and pay close attention to their behaviour, routines, and comfort. We understand that every pet is different, and we’re happy to adapt our care to what helps them feel safe, relaxed, and at home. Pet care fits naturally into our daily routine because we’re both home-based. One of us is a stay-at-home parent, homeschooler, and homemaker, while the other has worked from home for the past 10 years. That means our household already has a consistent presence throughout the day. With two dogs and two cats of our own, including a senior dog with special medical needs, feeding, medications, bathroom breaks, playtime, attention, and general pet care are already built into our everyday schedule. Because we’re home so much of the day, we can provide regular attention and supervision rather than trying to squeeze pet care in around long periods away from the house. We’ll still only accept bookings when we know we can comfortably meet each pet’s individual routine and needs. Our home sits on five mostly forested acres at the end of a quiet street, with a very large front and backyard and plenty of space to enjoy the outdoors. Our property is not fenced, so visiting dogs are always managed according to their individual needs, using leashes or supervised long lines/tethers when appropriate. Inside, we have a lot of flexibility to make visiting pets comfortable. Our large walkout basement is a quiet, low-traffic area with direct outdoor access and can be separated from the main floor with a baby gate. This gives us the option to keep a visiting dog with us downstairs while our children or resident pets remain upstairs if extra separation is needed. We also have a rarely used guest room that can provide a quiet, private space for a visiting pet. Our cats are used to dogs and are very good at finding their own quiet spaces when they want them. They can retreat to areas such as our bedroom, which visiting pets are not allowed to access. Our resident dogs can also be separated when necessary, including the use of a secure crate for our blind senior dog, who typically spends most of his day quietly sleeping nearby anyway. We spend a lot of nice-weather weekends outside on our property, so dogs who enjoy being outdoors can join us while remaining safely supervised. We know that every pet has a different personality, comfort level, and routine. Before accepting a stay, we want to understand those needs so we can decide how best to arrange our home and make the experience safe, calm, and comfortable for everyone.

About: Hey there! I’m Deanna — animal lover, treat‑giver, walk‑enthusiast, and certified “yes I talk to pets like they’re tiny hairy humans” person. 😄 I’ve had animals my whole life and have looked after pets with all sorts of medical needs. Giving meds? No problem. Special routines? I’m on it. Noticing when your pet is acting a little off? It’s basically my superpower. I’ve raised two puppies from 9 weeks old, so I know all about zoomies, chaos, snuggles, and the “why are you chewing that??” moments. I also adore senior pets — slow walks, soft voices, and gentle care are my jam. I’m pretty active, so if your dog wants adventures, I’m ready. If they prefer couch hangs and snacks… honestly, same. I work part‑time, which means I’ve got flexible availability on weekdays + weekends. I’m also open to overnight stays and weekend pet‑sitting if you need a little getaway. At home I’ve got two cats who are very chill with dogs as long as the dogs aren’t plotting to chase them. For everyone’s safety, I do ask that visiting pets are up to date on flea and tick prevention — gotta keep my furry roommates itch‑free. Your pet will be loved, spoiled, and treated like family. Can’t wait to meet your furry sidekick! 🐶🐱💛 I am currently working part time and have open hours to support your pet(s) weekdays and weekends. I am open to over night stays and weekend work. I have 2 cats who are okay with dogs as long as they don't have a prey drive and chase. I would require the pets coming in to have updated flea and tick to protect my babies.

About: Hi, I’m Jess! I have 9.5 years of professional dog care experience, including daycares, structured on-leash group walks, off-leash park play, boarding, and housesitting. Raised on a farm, I’ve been surrounded by animals my whole life and share my home with two resident cats. I am incredibly comfortable with all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments, from puppies and seniors to special needs. I'm trained in dog reactivity, certified in Pet First Aid, and experienced in administering medications, shots, and flea treatments. I live in a large apartment and typically host a single dog, but I’m open to caring for multiples from the same family if they get along well (complete with a complimentary trial). I always prefer a meet-and-greet first to ensure a perfect fit! I am just a 5 minute walk from a beautiful, very large off-leash dog park that features both an enclosed area and an additional section for pups who need a bit more focused attention. As well as, Delhi Park, Macaulay Mountain or Millenium Trail for hikes. I would love to meet you and your furry friend. I'm available via text or email anytime, so please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions! I am in transition as I just moved back home from Toronto, to Picton. I have full availability, and very capable of meeting your needs to provide the best care. I live with cats, and only take a client at a time, unless further analysis has been done to see compatability. This is for the safety of your pets, and to be leaning on a cautious side.

This is the first time I have boarded my dog and I was a wee bit nervous. However, as soon as I met and spoke with Gabrielle, I realized that she would be in good hands. I would highly recommend her to those looking for stellar dog care while they are away.

Nelaida took wonderful care of my senior Bichon, Pico. He settled right in with little of the usual anxiety he can suffer when left with a sitter. Nelaida was very responsive and kept me updated on his wellbeing. She is a very calm, warm, capable sitter, who dealt very well with his special needs. I would highly recommend her, and would take Pico back to her without hesitation.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
