“Amanda and her family were amazing with Maya. She became one of the family from taking piano lessons, enjoying story time and walks with the family. Maya loves children and Amanda has 2 of the sweetest. Her time with them has left her sleeping for a couple of days and a little sad missing them. They gave her all the attention she loves. Amanda kept me updated daily and followed Maya’s daily routine. I was nervous in the beginning leaving Maya with someone new but was immediately calmed by the love shown to her. Thank you Amanda”

“Rachel was great with our dog, Henry! She and her husband are clearly experienced dog owners who knew how to be extremely loving with Henry while also keeping to the boundaries we outlined. They had no concerns about taking in a giant wolfhound whose head is at kitchen counter height. Henry is often anxious when left in a new place for the first time, and Rachel worked with us to get him to feel comfortable--we all hung out together for a while until Henry could tell this was a good place with people we trusted, and flopped down on their couch to bask in their skritches. Their little dog Chip also helped him feel welcome--once he got used to Henry's great size, he was happy to share his couch and his people and even offered to share his frisbee toy. Rachel updated us on how he was doing and sent great photos. We'll be very happy to have Henry stay there again.”

About: 20 years of experience, looking after animals, including working with and helping run rescues, working at pet food stores, volunteering at veterinary clinics, as well as years of fostering, and looking after my own pets. I’m a stay at home mom so I have plenty of time. I spend a lot of my time looking after my animals and making sure that they have everything that they need. I have a very friendly and social dog, several cats that are accustomed to having children and dogs around them- and three children who are very sweet and gentle. I live on a quiet country road that makes for great walks. I tend to let our dog on our furniture but are fine to keep to your rules for furniture. In your home, I'll follow your set routine for your pets.

About: I grew up taking care of animals, inclusive of dogs, cats and goats. I have an affinity with animals and truly enjoy spending time with them. In particular, dogs mean a great deal to me and because I do not have children, dogs have become the object of my love and care and have given that back to me. I have rescued a great deal of domestic and wild animals (raccoons, opossums and a number of birds). I regularly volunteer at the Quinte Humane Society as well. My most recent sits have included large properties in Prince Edward County and Marysville and surrounding areas, with both small dogs, large dogs and multiple pets. I have also taken care of an 80 acre goat farm in Owen Sound for three weeks, taking care of the house and grounds as well. I can also take care of your plants inside and out, garbage and recycling, and am open to other duties that can be discussed at the time of a meet and greet. I always have a meet and greet at least 2 weeks (whenever possible) before my sit, so you can feel comfortable with me, my two little dogs that come with me, and your pets can feel comfortable too! I am a traveler as well and know how important it is to leave one's pet in exceptional care when one is away. I will not only show love and affection to your pet; but as a teacher I value the safety, care and protection of other people's cherished possessions. I have two years experience dog walking, including rescue dogs, as well. Your dogs will be cared for and loved in your own home or in mine, if that is something you choose. I do have two small, (under 6 pounds) female Morkies who will be in my home or coming with me, so your pet will need to be okay in the company of two well behaved, but fun loving dogs. RATE BREAKDOWN: HOUSE/PET SITTING (in your home): $75/24 HOURS for 1st pet $25/24 HOURS for any additional pet PET BOARDING: $65/24 HOURS for 1st pet $35/24 HOURS for any additional pet PET DAYCARE: $50/8 HOURS (Times are flexible - Mon - Fri Only) I am retired I am very flexible in terms of hours/length of time that I can spend with your pet(s) and in your home. I am home often during the evenings and weekends, working on my latest novel and will, like your pet, need breaks to walk, exercise and play with them. I have had dogs all of my life and as a teacher, I am someone who prepares and proactively thinks about the safety and protection of my pets, and this would be the case with yours as well.
