We’ll still only accept bookings when we know we can comfortably meet each pet’s individual routine and needs. Our home sits on five mostly forested acres at the end of a quiet street, with a very large front and backyard and plenty of space to enjoy the outdoors. Our property is not fenced, so visiting dogs are always managed according to their individual needs, using leashes or supervised long lines/tethers when appropriate. Inside, we have a lot of flexibility to make visiting pets comfortable. Our large walkout basement is a quiet, low-traffic area with direct outdoor access and can be separated from the main floor with a baby gate. This gives us the option to keep a visiting dog with us downstairs while our children or resident pets remain upstairs if extra separation is needed. We also have a rarely used guest room that can provide a quiet, private space for a visiting pet. Our cats are used to dogs and are very good at finding their own quiet spaces when they want them. They can retreat to areas such as our bedroom, which visiting pets are not allowed to access. Our resident dogs can also be separated when necessary, including the use of a secure crate for our blind senior dog, who typically spends most of his day quietly sleeping nearby anyway. We spend a lot of nice-weather weekends outside on our property, so dogs who enjoy being outdoors can join us while remaining safely supervised. We know that every pet has a different personality, comfort level, and routine. About: It all started with rabbits when I was a 4 year old. My dad bred them and we had well over 60 at one point. I had a pair of baby ducks when I was 8 years old. Then along came my budgie when I was 10. I have a lifelong experience of caring for many different types of pets. In the past I have had rabbits, ducks, a budgie, cockatiels, finches, rats, and aquariums. I took riding lessons as a teen and worked on the horse farm to pay for my lessons. I also have experience with exotic animals as I worked for a short time in a zoo. I have owned 5 dogs. A Husky (who lived to 15), an Australian Shepherd (who passed at age 12 from cancer), a sports mix - Border Collie/Staff/Russel (who passed at 14.5 from CHF), another Australian Shepherd (who passed at 11 from cancer), and I currently have a male Australian Shepherd. I work part time throughout the winter and have a tourism business during the summer. My work schedule is generally 4-6 hour days with a few off during the week. Your pet's care would fit in with my own pet's care. My dog is young and energetic and loves to play with other dogs. We hike most days in the woods surrounding the house. I have a pup who loves other dogs (he would have to come with me for overnight visits). He is playful and affectionate. I have 20 acres of woods to walk in (plus access to my neighbour's trails) and live on a small lake if your dog enjoys swimming. I am very knowledgeable in the care and training of animals, especially dogs and will be taking a first aide course when one comes available. I am very diligent about keeping dogs away from the road and they are always on a leash or longline.

About: Well versed with dog walks and ideally a walk is for about 1/2 hour and depends as well on the fitness goals of your pet. Area taken for walk will be discussed with the owner first and then finalised ( prefer taking the pet walking in known places in beginning and incorporate new places gradually). A lot of times when we become busy with work, we tend to forget that all our pets have is us. This is my brainchild wherein i take your pets to a place other than his daily place (I.e. a dog park, a pet cafe). Aim is to help him/her socialise, step out of his comfort zone as well as spend solo time with him . I adore pets and prefer being around dogs rather than humans. My motivation is my pet dog back in the home country. For me dog sitting fills the part of me that misses my dog back in my home country and will genuinely make me feel happy if my spend my time walking dogs or any job related to dogs. I am incredibly comfortable with all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments, from puppies and seniors to special needs. I'm trained in dog reactivity, certified in Pet First Aid, and experienced in administering medications, shots, and flea treatments. I live in a large apartment and typically host a single dog, but I’m open to caring for multiples from the same family if they get along well (complete with a complimentary trial). I always prefer a meet-and-greet first to ensure a perfect fit! I am just a 5 minute walk from a beautiful, very large off-leash dog park that features both an enclosed area and an additional section for pups who need a bit more focused attention.As well as, Delhi Park, Macaulay Mountain or Millenium Trail for hikes.
