“Thank you Linda & Bob for taking such good care of Chester once again! We appreciate how you keep him busy with walks (which he loves) to keep him distracted from missing his parents.”

“Ricci was great with my dog Macduff. She was kind enough to text me as to how he was doing while I was away. Macduff was extremely happy with his stay. I couldn't recommend her more highly!”

“Kobi got some much-needed play time and I love that I know he'll be safe with Nelaida and Katie. Pick up and drop off work quick and easy love receiving pictures and updates on what he's doing and how he is. TYSM❤️”

“Brigit was absolutely amazing from the first time I spoke with her to the day I picked up my boy! The love she has for animals (great dane in my case) is unbelievable as my dog walked in and felt right at home during the meet and greet. Brigit loves to find out every small detail about your pet so she can make sure your pet is treated the exact way they are at home! She sends lots of updates which I appreciate. We have a large breed which involved some strict guidelines and Brigit followed everything so carefully. I HIGHLY recommend her and Robert and will most definitely be booking again! What a wonderful experience, and I didn't feel stressed at all while we were gone. Thank You!”

“Fabulous and dependable. I would highly recommend Tammy for her professionalism and her very friendly approach. She took tremendous care of my four-legged son. He was happy and relaxed while staying at Tammy's.”

“Deanna & Scott did a great job caring for my dog while I was away for 10 days. They sent me lots of pictures and were always easy to talk to. I had no worries while I was away which made my trip much more enjoyable.”

“I have a very shy little rescue dog, part chihuahua and part whippet. She was coddled, loved, walked, and loved for the eight days that I was away. The socialization helped greatly with her shyness and I have no hesitation about having Gabrielle look after her again! Lise A. Belleville”

“Our senior dog recently spent a week with Robyn. She is amazing! Our boy was well cared for and the pictures and descriptions of his days were so appreciated. He looked so happy in every picture! Lots of room to play in her yard and she is very attentive to the dog's individual needs. He is looking forward to staying with Robyn again!”

“Caitlin was so good with our big dog. She provided updates and photos. Thank you so much for taking good care of Miles! We will contact Caitlin again when we come back to the Kingston area (or anywhere East Ontario). 😁”

“Indy was well looked after at Kristiina’s home. She was in very good spirits when I picked her up. Kristiina adapted (enjoyed!) to her little quirks easing any stress that Indy might have had with her first stay. I will not hesitate to leave Indy in her care in the future.”

“This was our second time with Heather. The dogs couldn’t wait to get into the house. Heather sends videos and photos of the dogs during the stay. We were delayed on our return and Heather accommodated us. Thank you for your understanding Heather. Heathers sweet little dog is a wonderful hostess. Heather is my first choice for dog care. Thank you Heather for welcoming and caring for our dogs.”

“Brynn and her boys took amazing care of Sophie when we where away. It was like she was home and happy. She loved her time there and i know she will go back in a heart beat. :)”

“Ana took fantastic care of Korra. We especially appreciated the lovely photos we got every day of Korra playing and enjoying her walks! This is not the first time we left Korra with Ana, and we'll happily use Ana's services again.”

About: Hey there! I’m Deanna — animal lover, treat‑giver, walk‑enthusiast, and certified “yes I talk to pets like they’re tiny hairy humans” person. 😄 I’ve had animals my whole life and have looked after pets with all sorts of medical needs. Giving meds? No problem. Special routines? I’m on it. Noticing when your pet is acting a little off? It’s basically my superpower. I’ve raised two puppies from 9 weeks old, so I know all about zoomies, chaos, snuggles, and the “why are you chewing that??” moments. I also adore senior pets — slow walks, soft voices, and gentle care are my jam. I’m pretty active, so if your dog wants adventures, I’m ready. If they prefer couch hangs and snacks… honestly, same. I work part‑time, which means I’ve got flexible availability on weekdays + weekends. I’m also open to overnight stays and weekend pet‑sitting if you need a little getaway. At home I’ve got two cats who are very chill with dogs as long as the dogs aren’t plotting to chase them. For everyone’s safety, I do ask that visiting pets are up to date on flea and tick prevention — gotta keep my furry roommates itch‑free. Your pet will be loved, spoiled, and treated like family. Can’t wait to meet your furry sidekick! 🐶🐱💛 I am currently working part time and have open hours to support your pet(s) weekdays and weekends. I am open to over night stays and weekend work. I have 2 cats who are okay with dogs as long as they don't have a prey drive and chase. I would require the pets coming in to have updated flea and tick to protect my babies.
“Andy and Brandon took fantastic care of our boy Miller. Miller often struggles with separation anxiety, but they made sure he had a great time. We picked up a calm and very happy dog. We will definitely be returning in the future. Thanks so much for taking such good care of our best friend. Jenni & Meeka”

“Molly took such great care of our elderly dachshund. We received updates and adorable photos, our pup was treated like a member of the family and taken out on excursions, and was in good spirits when we arrived home after our 5 day trip. Molly's home was clean, welcoming and with a fenced yard with no escape routes :) We have already booked our next sitting date with Molly, highly recommend!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
