About: Hello! I'm Thalia, and I live in downtown Kingston neighbourhood close to many parks. I am a graduate student with a flexible schedule. I grew up with and cared for a Wheaton Terrier for 14 years, and have been a dog lover my whole life. With such a flexible work schedule, I have a lot of free time that I'd love to spend hanging with a doggo! I am comfortable with dogs of all ages. I can give outdoor breaks whenever needed, and at least a 30-60 minute walk each day. I'm happy to follow special care instructions and can help with medication if needed. I will make sure that your dog has a very fun, safe and comfortable time with lots of love and attention! As I work from home full time, I am very flexible and can include pet care into my daily routine to fit the needs of your pets 😊 I live close to many parks for lots of outdoor play time, and in a safe neighbourhood for long walks. I do not yet have a dog of my own, so can devote all my attention to taking care of yours!
“Stephanie provided in-home dogsitting services for 2 puppies (4 mo) and an elderly dog (13). She communicated well and was accommodating to last minute changes to schedule. The dogs were all well cared for and happy in my absence.”

“Anna is an amazing sitter and treated my dog like her own - I felt completely comfortable and did not worry about my home or my dog whilst in Anna’s care - would definitely recommend her to look after your pets and home”
About: I run Golden Alley, home of four Golden Retrievers. I know how hard it can be to leave your loved dog. I offer a special home away from home; or can come to you. I work from home so are flexible in our ability to provide care. I can come to your home to check in and provide care as well. I have an acre fenced yard with lots of privacy and space to roam. I also will do dog walks, treats and all kinds of doggie love.
About: It all started with rabbits when I was a 4 year old. My dad bred them and we had well over 60 at one point. I had a pair of baby ducks when I was 8 years old. Then along came my budgie when I was 10. I have a lifelong experience of caring for many different types of pets. In the past I have had rabbits, ducks, a budgie, cockatiels, finches, rats, and aquariums. I took riding lessons as a teen and worked on the horse farm to pay for my lessons. I also have experience with exotic animals as I worked for a short time in a zoo. I have owned 5 dogs. A Husky (who lived to 15), an Australian Shepherd (who passed at age 12 from cancer), a sports mix - Border Collie/Staff/Russel (who passed at 14.5 from CHF), another Australian Shepherd (who passed at 11 from cancer), and I currently have a male Australian Shepherd. I work part time throughout the winter and have a tourism business during the summer. My work schedule is generally 4-6 hour days with a few off during the week. Your pet's care would fit in with my own pet's care. My dog is young and energetic and loves to play with other dogs. We hike most days in the woods surrounding the house. I have a pup who loves other dogs (he would have to come with me for overnight visits). He is playful and affectionate. I have 20 acres of woods to walk in (plus access to my neighbour's trails) and live on a small lake if your dog enjoys swimming. I am very knowledgeable in the care and training of animals, especially dogs and will be taking a first aide course when one comes available. I am very diligent about keeping dogs away from the road and they are always on a leash or longline.

“Christine was super understanding with our needs for Buddy. New puppy never been left alone and readily accepted our request for a meet & greet before the actual booking. Highly recommend her.”

“Megan was amazing with our very energetic puppy for the weekend. She came and did a meet up before hand to ensure it was a good fit and we (and Obi!) immediately felt at ease with her. We felt so confident leaving him in her hands, and having her stay at our house, which she left spotless :) would highly recommend Megan!”

I would confidently recommend Myriam to anyone looking for a reliable, compassionate, and professional pet sitter, and we will absolutely be booking with her again.”

About: Certainly! Here’s an extended version with a few more lines to make your answer more detailed and impressive: --- I have over 8 years of hands-on experience as a dedicated pet sitter, and I also care for two pets of my own — a playful dog and a senior cat — so I understand the daily needs, personalities, and quirks that make each pet unique. What sets me apart from other sitters is not just my experience, but my genuine love for animals and my ability to connect with them on a deeper level. I have worked with pets of all ages, sizes, and temperaments — from energetic puppies needing consistency and training, to older pets who require medication, mobility assistance, and extra TLC. I’m skilled in basic puppy training, crate training, leash manners, and socialization. I also have experience dealing with rescue animals and those with anxiety or behavioral issues, always using a gentle and reassuring approach. Pet safety is my top priority. I stay alert, follow detailed care instructions, and maintain regular communication with pet parents through updates and photos. I treat every animal as if they were my own — with love, patience, and respect. I work from Monday to Friday from 9 to 5.After that and before that I am available and I can sit with your pet at night Here’s a well-rounded answer to the **“Safety, trust & environment”** question, written from your perspective as an experienced cat sitter and pet sitter who may care for pets either in your own home or the client’s home: --- Whether I’m caring for pets in my own home or my client’s, safety and trust are always my top priorities. In a client’s home, I respect their space and follow all care instructions precisely — including feeding schedules, medication, exercise routines, and any household rules their pet is used to. I take the time to learn each pet’s preferences and behaviors so I can provide a familiar, low-stress environment while their family is away. In my own home, I maintain a clean, pet-friendly space that is free from hazards. I ensure secure windows and doors, use pet-safe cleaning products, and have separate, quiet areas available if a pet needs space or time to adjust. My own pets are well-socialized, and I carefully supervise all interactions to ensure everyone feels safe and comfortable. I also provide regular updates, photos, and videos to build trust with pet parents, showing them that their pet is in good hands. Whether in my home or theirs, I aim to create a calm, caring, and secure environment where pets feel loved, safe, and stress-free.
“I can't recommend Josephine enough—she was amazing! Before our 14-day trip, she met with us so Ollie could get comfortable, and he loved her from the start. She kept us updated with photos and messages, which we really appreciated. Josephine went above and beyond, even leaving our home cleaner than when she arrived. We wouldn't hesitate to book her again. Highly recommended!”

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Deseronto maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Deseronto walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Deseronto choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
