“Leah was a wonderful pet sitter for Maple! She and her husband were very accommodating and attentive, making Maple's stay comfortable and fun! We were met outside with big smiles at a very early hour in the morning and our dog was happy and tired at the end of her stay with them. Thank you so much to you both!”

About: I've been caring for small dogs for over 2 years and absolutely love giving them attention they deserve. I have experience with different small breeds and understand their unique needs and personalities. Friends, neighbors and family gave trusted me to walk, feed, play with and bathe their little pups, My goal is to make every dog feels safe, happy, and loved while their owners away. I'm a stay-at-home mom with one toddler and a small Maltipoo, so I'm home most of the day with plenty of time to give your pup attention and care. My days are filled with playtime, walks, and cuddles, and I'd love to include your dog in our fun, loving routine. I'm also available for boarding on weekends and most weekdays. I have a safe, clean home and a friendly Maltipoo who loves other small dogs. Your pup will be part of a calm and loving family environment, getting plenty of playtime and attention throughout the day. I always make sure each dog feels comfortable, secure, and loved - just like they're at home.
“Gabrielle is so sweet. My husband and I had a JW convention to attend in Belleville and we needed somewhere safe for our fur baby to stay. Gabrielle was just what we needed! She fully prepares you for what’s involved and how she and her daughter take care of your pup during the doggy daycare. My little guy is a mini Cockapoo, and they did well with introducing them and monitoring the situation so that they all were able to play together and get along. Thank you so much for your honesty and care! You guys rock. Highly recommend. I’d leave my dog with Gabrielle again anytime.”

“Tammy is amazing! We recently booked day care services while visiting PEC and had an excellent experience. Tammy was super quick to respond and communicative. During the stay we received adorable photo updates throughout the day and my dog had a blast. I highly recommend Tammy. We'll definitely book again when visiting PEC!”

About: It all started with rabbits when I was a 4 year old. My dad bred them and we had well over 60 at one point. I had a pair of baby ducks when I was 8 years old. Then along came my budgie when I was 10. I have a lifelong experience of caring for many different types of pets. In the past I have had rabbits, ducks, a budgie, cockatiels, finches, rats, and aquariums. I took riding lessons as a teen and worked on the horse farm to pay for my lessons. I also have experience with exotic animals as I worked for a short time in a zoo. I have owned 5 dogs. A Husky (who lived to 15), an Australian Shepherd (who passed at age 12 from cancer), a sports mix - Border Collie/Staff/Russel (who passed at 14.5 from CHF), another Australian Shepherd (who passed at 11 from cancer), and I currently have a male Australian Shepherd. I work part time throughout the winter and have a tourism business during the summer. My work schedule is generally 4-6 hour days with a few off during the week. Your pet's care would fit in with my own pet's care. My dog is young and energetic and loves to play with other dogs. We hike most days in the woods surrounding the house. I have a pup who loves other dogs (he would have to come with me for overnight visits). He is playful and affectionate. I have 20 acres of woods to walk in (plus access to my neighbour's trails) and live on a small lake if your dog enjoys swimming. I am very knowledgeable in the care and training of animals, especially dogs and will be taking a first aide course when one comes available. I am very diligent about keeping dogs away from the road and they are always on a leash or longline.
“Ricci has been great with Tony. She's taken care of him a few times now, and he comes back nice and pooped – the sign of a good stay! She has been sensitive to Tony's needs and my training methods, and he's been happy to go back each time.”

“Elsa was wonderful with my dog, Mocha! She has high anxiety and Elsa made sure that she felt comfortable with her right from the start. She was also very accommodating with the hours as we had to move and we didn’t want to stress Mocha out. Would recommend!”

About: We have a quiet, orderly home with regular routines. Our last dog lived to be 16 years old and needed quite intensive care in the last year. We live in a quiet neighbourhood and are happy to take your pet to the dog park nearby or the Lemoine Point walking trail. I have few daily commitments outside of the home and am seldom gone for more than an hour or two. An anxious or timid dog would do well in my care. I believe in plenty of walks and playtime with favourite toys. I’m also happy to let them cuddle with me as much as they want.
“Had a wonderful experience with Heather!! She kept me in the loop about my puppy and was very warm and kind. My dog came home happy and calm. Will definitely take her back :)”

“Harvey had the best time with Daniel! He was so attentive, kind and he definitely tuckered him out with all the adventures they had! I also appreciated all the updates and photos, I could tell my little guy was having the best time!”

“Pamesha et son conjoint ont été extraordinaires avec notre Léo durant notre croisière dans les 1000 Islands. Ils ont été patients et attentionnés. De plus, j’ai reçu beaucoup de très belles photos, plus belles que celles que j’arrive à prendre de Léo moi-même! Encore un grand merci d’avoir pris soin de notre Léo, nous étions en complète confiance 🤩”

“We had a great experience and Tyrion had a fantastic day. He was tuckered out and happy when we picked him up. We really appreciated the updates and photos during the day and Tyrion seemed to really enjoy playing with the golden retrievers. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a dog-sitter. We will definitely rebook in the future.”

About: Our family included a sweet cat who lived to the age of 19. We also have a dog who is 5 years old and we understand the joys of puppy training. We enjoyed Puppy school and agility training and understand what is required to keep dogs happy and well exercised. I recently retired and I am looking for ways to stay active and dog walking is an activity that I enjoy. We currently have our own dog and he loves companions when appropriate. If your pet is not social- no problem! I have a fully fenced yard and a 5 year old mini golden doodle who loves furry friends. I enjoy long walks and am well prepared with treats and water. Rain or snow don't deter me from a walk- its always enjoyable with the right outerwear! I have attended puppy school with my dog and understand the concepts of dog behavior and how to keep dogs in control, engaged and happy.
About: I’ve always been surrounded by all kinds of animals, including Katy, my childhood family dog that was an English setter-black lab mix, all kinds of cats and farm animals 🐈⬛ 🖤🐕 In 2019, I decided I wanted to contribute to the community more as my love for animals kept growing. I began volunteering as a foster for rescue puppies with CC Rez Q’s in Regina, SK. As a rescue foster, my role included training, feeding, bathing, walking, and giving my full attention and love to each pup that was in my care! I have my own 3 year old pup, Murphie who is a golden retriever X wheaten terrier mix that’s great with other dogs and is always by my side!🖤 I am a full time nurse, therefore I will only approve days that I’m not working to make sure your pet gets all the attention it needs! I have my own dog, Murphie, that I take for walks frequently and to the beach for swims. This is already apart of my daily/weekly routine therefore I can incorporate any requests for your dog into my routine😊 I live with my fiancé in an apartment, so we go for lots of walks throughout the day. Let me know how I can best care for your pup, and I can most definitely plan accordingly.

“I booked Rose for my dog Luna and the experience overall was smooth and easy. Communication was friendly, scheduling was simple, and I appreciated the updates during the day. Luna came home happy and tired, which is always a good sign! Thank you for taking good care of her.”

“Ana was very friendly, polite and knew exactly how to take care of my Chico. Definitely recommend her to anyone who need to leave their furbabies either for a few hours or a few days.”

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Deseronto commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ON ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
