Leah was a wonderful pet sitter for Maple! She and her husband were very accommodating and attentive, making Maple's stay comfortable and fun! We were met outside with big smiles at a very early hour in the morning and our dog was happy and tired at the end of her stay with them. Thank you so much to you both!

About: I've been caring for small dogs for over 2 years and absolutely love giving them attention they deserve. I have experience with different small breeds and understand their unique needs and personalities. Friends, neighbors and family gave trusted me to walk, feed, play with and bathe their little pups, My goal is to make every dog feels safe, happy, and loved while their owners away. I'm a stay-at-home mom with one toddler and a small Maltipoo, so I'm home most of the day with plenty of time to give your pup attention and care. My days are filled with playtime, walks, and cuddles, and I'd love to include your dog in our fun, loving routine. I'm also available for boarding on weekends and most weekdays. I have a safe, clean home and a friendly Maltipoo who loves other small dogs. Your pup will be part of a calm and loving family environment, getting plenty of playtime and attention throughout the day. I always make sure each dog feels comfortable, secure, and loved - just like they're at home.

Ricci has been great with Tony. She's taken care of him a few times now, and he comes back nice and pooped – the sign of a good stay! She has been sensitive to Tony's needs and my training methods, and he's been happy to go back each time.

About: We have a quiet, orderly home with regular routines. Our last dog lived to be 16 years old and needed quite intensive care in the last year. We live in a quiet neighbourhood and are happy to take your pet to the dog park nearby or the Lemoine Point walking trail. I have few daily commitments outside of the home and am seldom gone for more than an hour or two. An anxious or timid dog would do well in my care. I believe in plenty of walks and playtime with favourite toys. I’m also happy to let them cuddle with me as much as they want.

About: I’ve had dogs and cats my whole life, and caring for animals has always been a huge part of who I am. I also fostered a court-rescue dog through the SPCA for over a year, giving me valuable experience with anxious and nervous pets. I’m experienced with rescue dogs, puppies, senior pets, and multi-pet households. I have a calm, pet-friendly cat at home and a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor play. Since I work from home, pets in my care receive plenty of attention, regular walks, playtime, and a consistent routine. Friends and neighbours regularly trust me with their pets because I’m reliable, attentive, and genuinely love what I do. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness will always be my top priority. 🐾❤️ I work from home, so your pet will enjoy plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship throughout the day. I’m available for boarding, dog walks, and drop-in visits. In my home, your dog will enjoy a secure environment with a fully fenced grass yard for safe outdoor play and fresh air. Since I have a resident cat who is very laid back, I primarily welcome guest dogs who are already comfortable and friendly with feline companions. Because I am currently based at home, I can offer constant supervision and a consistent routine that mirrors your pet's life at home. Whether I am boarding a dog or visiting a cat for a drop-in, I focus on personalized care, ensuring they are well-exercised, fed on schedule, and given plenty of attention. My background with rescue animals means I am highly observant of body language, so I’m always making sure every pet feels relaxed and at ease, whether we’re relaxing in the garden or out for a walk.

About: Hi, I’m Elsa! 🐾 Animals have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve been caring for pets for family, friends, and people in my community since I was 16 years old, and it’s truly one of my greatest passions. I live in Kingston in a spacious home with a fully fenced backyard that’s perfect for pets of all sizes. I happily welcome both small and large dogs, as well as cats and other small animals. 👩🏻‍💻 I work from home full-time, so your pets will rarely be left alone. They’ll receive plenty of love, attention, playtime, walks, and cuddles throughout the day. 💕 I grew up with dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, fish, and turtles, so I’m comfortable caring for a wide variety of animals. Every pet has its own personality, and I always take the time to follow their routine and make them feel safe and loved. When your pet stays with me, I care for them as if they were my own. You’ll also receive regular photo updates and messages, so you can relax knowing they’re in good hands. I can’t wait to meet your furry (or not-so-furry!) family member and give them all the love and care they deserve. ❤️ MY SERVICES • Boarding in my home (all sizes welcome) • Drop-in visits at your home • Daily walks • Available days, evenings, and overnight • Short- and long-term stays • Medication administration if needed • Full-time work-from-home supervision Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I work from home full-time. I’m home throughout the day, so your pet will receive plenty of attention, companionship, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and cuddles (not just before and after work). I enjoy keeping pets on their usual routine and making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Caring for animals is something I genuinely love, and I make sure every pet gets the time and attention they deserve. I believe the best pet care starts with getting to know each animal. Before every booking, I take the time to learn about their habits, favourite activities, energy level, and anything that helps them feel comfortable. For dogs, that might mean walks, outdoor play, games, or simply relaxing together. For cats, it could be quiet company, playtime when they feel like it, or respecting their space. I always follow your instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, medication, and any special needs. When pets stay in my home, they also have access to a fully fenced backyard for safe outdoor time and fresh air. Whether I’m caring for your pet in my home or yours, my goal is simple: to make them feel happy, safe, and loved while you’re away, so you can enjoy complete peace of mind.

About: Our family included a sweet cat who lived to the age of 19. We also have a dog who is 5 years old and we understand the joys of puppy training. We enjoyed Puppy school and agility training and understand what is required to keep dogs happy and well exercised. I recently retired and I am looking for ways to stay active and dog walking is an activity that I enjoy. We currently have our own dog and he loves companions when appropriate. If your pet is not social- no problem! I have a fully fenced yard and a 5 year old mini golden doodle who loves furry friends. I enjoy long walks and am well prepared with treats and water. Rain or snow don't deter me from a walk- its always enjoyable with the right outerwear! I have attended puppy school with my dog and understand the concepts of dog behavior and how to keep dogs in control, engaged and happy.

About: Dear pawrents, I have taken care of dogs since I have memory. When I was born, a beautiful German shepherd was brought home and we grew up together, since then, my love for dogs (and all animals) is inexplicable. I have taken care of my own dogs (Belgian and German shepherd, lab, schnauzer, dachshund, mixed, etc.). I have taken care of senior dogs with different needs (medication, carrying them to walk, etc.) and some dogs with diseases such as chronic seizures, cancer and arthritis. As a pet owner myself, I totally get it! Our pets aren't just pets, they're family. And that's why I'm on a mission to give them the VIP treatment they deserve. I'm currently working in a remote (work from home) position, so I have availability to take care of your puppy/ies during the day. I’m available for boarding during the weekends with some breaks in between so I can take care of my own dogs. I prioritize the comfort and well-being of the pets while respecting the routines and preferences set by the owners. Here's how I typically approach it: - Initial Consultation: I start by scheduling an initial consultation with the owners to discuss their dog's needs, routines, feeding schedules, medical history, and any specific instructions or preferences they may have. - Visits: During my visits, I ensure that the dogs have access to food, water, and a clean environment. I follow their feeding schedule and provide any necessary medications or supplements as instructed by the owners. - Exercise and Playtime: I engage the dogs in regular exercise and playtime sessions to keep them mentally and physically stimulated. This could include walks, play sessions in the backyard, or games indoors (depending on the weather). - Potty Breaks: I take the dogs out for regular potty breaks according to their usual schedule, ensuring that they are comfortable and their living space remains clean. - Updates and Communication: Throughout my time with the dog(s), I maintain open communication with the owners, providing updates and photos to reassure them that their pets are in good hands. - Security and Safety: I take measures to ensure the security and safety of the home, such as checking that doors and windows are securely locked and being mindful of any potential hazards in the environment. Overall, my goal is to provide personalized and attentive care to dogs in their own familiar surroundings, minimizing stress and ensuring a positive experience for both the pets and their owners.

About: It all started with rabbits when I was a 4 year old. My dad bred them and we had well over 60 at one point. I had a pair of baby ducks when I was 8 years old. Then along came my budgie when I was 10. I have a lifelong experience of caring for many different types of pets. In the past I have had rabbits, ducks, a budgie, cockatiels, finches, rats, and aquariums. I took riding lessons as a teen and worked on the horse farm to pay for my lessons. I also have experience with exotic animals as I worked for a short time in a zoo. I have owned 5 dogs. A Husky (who lived to 15), an Australian Shepherd (who passed at age 12 from cancer), a sports mix - Border Collie/Staff/Russel (who passed at 14.5 from CHF), another Australian Shepherd (who passed at 11 from cancer), and I currently have a male Australian Shepherd. I work part time throughout the winter and have a tourism business during the summer. My work schedule is generally 4-6 hour days with a few off during the week. Your pet's care would fit in with my own pet's care. My dog is young and energetic and loves to play with other dogs. We hike most days in the woods surrounding the house. I have a pup who loves other dogs (he would have to come with me for overnight visits). He is playful and affectionate. I have 20 acres of woods to walk in (plus access to my neighbour's trails) and live on a small lake if your dog enjoys swimming. I am very knowledgeable in the care and training of animals, especially dogs and will be taking a first aide course when one comes available. I am very diligent about keeping dogs away from the road and they are always on a leash or longline.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

There are 80 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in Skatepark. About 91% of Skatepark sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's leash and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalized care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Skatepark commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in ON ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
