About: We have a quiet, orderly home with regular routines. Our last dog lived to be 16 years old and needed quite intensive care in the last year. We live in a quiet neighbourhood and are happy to take your pet to the dog park nearby or the Lemoine Point walking trail. About: It all started with rabbits when I was a 4 year old. My dad bred them and we had well over 60 at one point. I had a pair of baby ducks when I was 8 years old. Then along came my budgie when I was 10. I have a lifelong experience of caring for many different types of pets. In the past I have had rabbits, ducks, a budgie, cockatiels, finches, rats, and aquariums. I took riding lessons as a teen and worked on the horse farm to pay for my lessons. I also have experience with exotic animals as I worked for a short time in a zoo. I have owned 5 dogs. A Husky (who lived to 15), an Australian Shepherd (who passed at age 12 from cancer), a sports mix - Border Collie/Staff/Russel (who passed at 14.5 from CHF), another Australian Shepherd (who passed at 11 from cancer), and I currently have a male Australian Shepherd. I work part time throughout the winter and have a tourism business during the summer. My work schedule is generally 4-6 hour days with a few off during the week. I’ve worked with dogs of all sizes and personalities, including anxious pups who need extra patience and love. I’ve run my own dog walking business and have worked at two dog kennels (one of which I’m currently at) and I truly treat every animal like they’re my own. 🐾 I currently work part-time on weekends, which gives me plenty of availability during the week to focus on pet care. My schedule is flexible, so I can adjust visits and walks to fit your pet’s needs, and I always make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. When caring for pets in your home, I focus on keeping their routine consistent and comfortable. I carefully follow all instructions and give plenty of love and patience (especially to anxious or shy pets) while always respecting your home so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.
About: I am Pet First Aid certified and certified through Fear Free’s Shelter Program and Boarding & Daycare Program, which trained me to recognize fear, anxiety, stress signals, arousal levels, body language, and environmental triggers. I grew up in a dog friendly family and spent 12 years caring for my family dog, including her current senior stage care. My Life Sciences and Biomedical Science background also makes me detail-oriented and observant with changes in behaviour, comfort, and well-being. During walks, I focus on secure handling, safe routes, calm interactions, and adapting the walk to each dog’s temperament, age, and energy level. My goal is to provide reliable, low-stress dog walking that owners can trust. I am currently in my summer break (May-Sept). while writing up my research paper draft, I will be flexible with my schedule 7 days a week 6:00am-10:00pm for dog walking. I have full G license with my own vehicle. For dog walking, I focus on safety, consistency, and calm handling. Before each walk, I confirm the dog’s routine, leash or harness setup, energy level, triggers, and any special instructions. I also apply what I learned from Fear Free shelter and boarding/daycare training by paying close attention to body language, fear-anxiety-stress signals, arousal level, thresholds, and environmental triggers. I check that equipment is secure, choose safe routes, avoid unnecessary dog to dog interactions, and adjust the pace to the dog’s comfort level. My goal is to provide a safe, reliable, and low-stress walk while giving owners peace of mind.

About: I grew up with a small family dog as a young child in our family home, and took the leap into adulthood and dog ownership on my own! Porter is a 5.5 year old male neutered bernedoodle. He's super spoiled and rules the house :-) He loves having a playmate around so we thought we'd check out the Rover scene! We have experience looking after our neighbours dogs (Golden retrievers and a yellow lab). I have used Rover as a pet parent for help during vacations, etc. I know how hard it is to find someone trustworthy that will follow instructions. We go on 4 walks a day - sometimes more with yard play thrown in. I work from home and have a flexible schedule to allow all the dog care! I'm familiar with medicating dogs, including allergy injections so I can assist with care like that if required. I'm guilty of taking so many pictures of my dog, especially when he has friends visit so please be comforted knowing you will get lots of updates! We live on a lake so if your dog loves to swim and loves pontoon boat rides, they will have one heck of a vacation :-) If you have multi dog family - I'm happy to host them all! Please - no cats. I currently work from home and have lots of time with my flexible schedule to accommodate walks, playtime, enrichment, etc. Porter can adjust to anyone else's schedule to make it easier, or we can do solo walks if that would be your preference. I do not have a fenced yard, but we go on leashed walked at least 4x a day - plus more playtime. Porter is allowed on furniture, so your dog is as well! There are no separate rooms for dogs in my house. He used to be crate trained and so i am familiar with it and can crate your dog if you require it.
