About one acre has a inground electric fence that I have trained my dog on. If I have guest dogs I suggest a long lead if they are a flight risk or I have a spare collar for dog parents that agree to training with the fence ( I have flags and the collar beeps in warning to the perimeter). I give lots of affection throughout the day to pets and if I have a snack usually means my furry friend will as well.

About: It all started with rabbits when I was a 4 year old. My dad bred them and we had well over 60 at one point. I had a pair of baby ducks when I was 8 years old. Then along came my budgie when I was 10. I have a lifelong experience of caring for many different types of pets. In the past I have had rabbits, ducks, a budgie, cockatiels, finches, rats, and aquariums. I took riding lessons as a teen and worked on the horse farm to pay for my lessons. I also have experience with exotic animals as I worked for a short time in a zoo. I have owned 5 dogs. A Husky (who lived to 15), an Australian Shepherd (who passed at age 12 from cancer), a sports mix - Border Collie/Staff/Russel (who passed at 14.5 from CHF), another Australian Shepherd (who passed at 11 from cancer), and I currently have a male Australian Shepherd. I work part time throughout the winter and have a tourism business during the summer. My work schedule is generally 4-6 hour days with a few off during the week. Your pet's care would fit in with my own pet's care. My dog is young and energetic and loves to play with other dogs. We hike most days in the woods surrounding the house. I have a pup who loves other dogs (he would have to come with me for overnight visits). He is playful and affectionate. I have 20 acres of woods to walk in (plus access to my neighbour's trails) and live on a small lake if your dog enjoys swimming. I am very knowledgeable in the care and training of animals, especially dogs and will be taking a first aide course when one comes available. I am very diligent about keeping dogs away from the road and they are always on a leash or longline.

We live in a quiet neighbourhood and are happy to take your pet to the dog park nearby or the Lemoine Point walking trail. I am currently in my summer break (May-Sept). while writing up my research paper draft, I will be flexible with my schedule 7 days a week 6:00am-10:00pm for dog walking. I have full G license with my own vehicle. For dog walking, I focus on safety, consistency, and calm handling. Before each walk, I confirm the dog’s routine, leash or harness setup, energy level, triggers, and any special instructions. I also apply what I learned from Fear Free shelter and boarding/daycare training by paying close attention to body language, fear-anxiety-stress signals, arousal level, thresholds, and environmental triggers. I check that equipment is secure, choose safe routes, avoid unnecessary dog to dog interactions, and adjust the pace to the dog’s comfort level. My goal is to provide a safe, reliable, and low-stress walk while giving owners peace of mind.

“Words can not justly express how grateful I am to Stephen and Holly. The care they provided Saul during my extended time away was beyond extraordinary. It was not an easy time with harsh winter conditions but they ensured Saul was provided several walks a day as well as regular visits to dog parks for him to run and play. Saul is full of energy and very playful for being 13 months old so I’m sure it wasn’t always easy to meet his demands yet Stephen and Holly did. They treated him like a member of their family. They always send pictures of Saul keeping me posted of his activities. I especially enjoyed the pictures of Saul and family members when he would be resting near and in the arms of their family. I have to say I believe Saul is missing them and their dog George his new adopted family. I would not think of ever leaving Saul with anybody other than Stephen and Holly.
