“Rose is very easy to communicate with, and was thoughtful to check about any particular things she needed to know before looking after Rudy. Rudy loved hanging out and their long walk, and I would absolutely recommend Rose to care for your pet...”

About: I have lots of experience babysitting my auntie’s 3 dogs (Corgi, Newfoundland doodle mix, Golden Retriever) and my uncle’s Husky mix. I’ve always been very passionate about dogs and really wanted one, but have been unable to because of my mom’s allergy. I’m a responsible student at Queen’s university who will make sure to treat your dog with lots of love. As a university student, I have classes during the day but am usually available from the afternoon onwards on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. My weekends are also usually free, so I will have lots of time to ensure the pups have a good experience. I live in an apartment on the fourth floor (we have an elevator), which is a little difficult for keeping large dogs in for extended periods of time, but I will make sure that your pup spends lots of time exercising outside.
About: Hi! My name is Ashleigh, I’m a second-year politics student at Queen’s University. I’m responsible, easy to reach, and I take looking after other people’s pets seriously. I’ve grown up around both big and small dogs, so I’m very comfortable with different breeds and temperaments. I’ve also had my own cat for almost two years, and I’ve lived with and helped take care of a kitten as well, so I’m used to the different needs cats have. I’m confident with feeding, walking, medication, and just making sure pets are comfortable and well cared for while you’re away. I am currently living in Kingston full-time over the summer, and only occasionally go away to visit family, so I'm typically available whenever you need! When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I try to keep everything as close to their normal routine as possible so they feel comfortable. For drop-ins or overnight stays, I make sure they’re fed on time, have fresh water, get enough exercise, and get attention and playtime. For walks, I adjust to the dog’s energy level and make sure they’re safe and getting a good outing. If I’m staying overnight, I keep things calm and consistent so they’re not stressed while you’re away. I’m also happy to follow any specific instructions, and I can send updates if you’d like, so you know everything’s going well.
About: I grew up always in the country and always had family cats and dogs, and was involved in pet care and training from a young age. I adopted my cat three years ago and enjoy pet sitting both cats and dogs! I have experience with walking and caring for reactive dogs as well. I am a master’s student and Queen’s and I work part time hours. I have availability everyday depending on time frame for walks and drop-ins! For house sitting, I am available for overnight stays if required. Gentle but firm approach, always on leash unless in a known, enclosed area. Exercise and enrichment are a priority for me, as well as outdoor time for dogs.
About: I have loved and worked with animals for over 10 years and am passionate about helping animals find safe, loving homes. As a foster parent with the Kingston Humane Society, I have helped care for and place many cats into their forever homes. I have experience working with cats with specific medical and behavioural needs, including overweight cats, senior cats, and cats recovering from dental procedures and surgeries. I have also worked with local humane societies to help raise funds for spay and neuter programs and have worked to support adoption efforts within the community! I have all a cat would need at my place! All you need to do is bring your kitty. Feel free to message me if you have any questions at all. I work from home, so I’m able to give your pet plenty of attention, companionship, or quiet alone time depending on their needs and personality. I always try to make pets feel as safe and comfortable as possible. With cats especially, I usually let them come to me first instead of forcing interaction since every cat is different. If they want attention and cuddles, I’m happy to give them lots of love, but if they’d rather have their own space, that’s totally okay too. I try to stick to their normal routine as much as possible and make sure they have a calm, clean, and low-stress environment. Through fostering, I’ve worked with a lot of shy, senior, and special-needs cats, so I’ve learned how important patience and trust are when caring for animals.
About: Hi! I’m a third year Queen’s University student who seriously misses having dogs around while I’m at school! Back home, I have six dogs of my own (yes, six lol! chaos, love, and fur everywhere), and I’ve fostered over 100 dogs throughout my lifetime with many different dog rescues. Basically, my life resume is just… dogs. I love pups of all ages, from high-energy puppies to sweet senior dogs who just want a slower stroll and some extra love. A few of my dogs have been through puppy school, where we both learned tricks, so I’m comfortable reinforcing basic training, routines, and good walking manners. I truly believe dogs are better than humans (no offence), and I treat every dog like they’re my own. Whether your pup needs a long adventure walk, a potty break, or just someone who genuinely loves being around dogs, I’ve got them covered. Your dog’s safety, happiness, and tail wags are always my top priority 🐾 Since I am a university student with a mix of in-person and online classes, that leaves me with lots of consistent free time between classes. My schedule doesn’t change week to week, and I’m free most weekends for walks, drop-ins, and quality pup time! When caring for pets in a client’s home, I always follow their routines closely so they feel safe, comfortable, and happy. I have experience with dogs of all ages and temperaments, from playful puppies to gentle seniors, and I treat every dog like they’re my own. I prioritize safety on walks, keep spaces tidy, and provide regular updates and photos so owners can relax knowing their pup is in great hands:)
“i hired mary to check in & walk my rescue girl rayon on a full day i would be away. i wanted rayon to be comfortable with someone coming (hello separation anxiety) so i requested a couple walks beforehand. as soon as i met mary i immediately felt at ease leaving my girl with her. she is incredibly patient, grounding, and so loving! (with some great training tips up her sleeve) mary kept me in the loop with each visit which allowed me to enjoy my day. thank you so much - ray & i are grateful to have found you! we both look forward to seeing you again!”

I even work overnight and have very flexible schedule so if you need me for in the weekdays or in the weekend I’m always available. I live in an apartment however I live close to the park so I will take care of them at home and at the park
About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover with a genuine passion for caring for pets of all kinds. I absolutely adore both cats and dogs, and I’m equally comfortable caring for more unique or exotic animals as well. No matter the species, I treat every animal with patience, respect, and lots of love. I grew up on a farm, so being around animals has always been a huge part of my life. From feeding routines to recognizing animal behaviour and needs, I’ve had hands-on experience with just about everything you can imagine. I’m also an elementary teacher, which may provide some insight as to why who I am as a person. I’m calm, attentive, and incredibly patient, and I take the time to build trust, whether that’s with a nervous rescue pet, a high-energy puppy, or a more independent cat. I understand that every animal has its own personality, and I adapt my approach to make them feel safe, comfortable, and happy. When your pet is in my care, you can expect reliability, strong communication, and lots of affection. I’ll make sure they’re not just looked after, but genuinely cared for and engaged with. Whether it’s long walks, playtime, or simply keeping them company. Whatever suits them. I would love the opportunity to meet you and your pet! 🐾 Currently, I am finishing up my degree in some summer classes at Queens University in a post graduate program. My schedule is extremely light, allowing for lots of extra time in my mornings and afternoons. When caring for pets in a client’s home, my priority is keeping their routine as consistent and stress-free as possible. I know how important familiarity is (especially for cats and more sensitive animals), so I take the time to follow your instructions closely.
About: Having grown up with no pets, I always jumped at the chance to do drop ins for friends & family for their pets. Now I have my own little pup and we enjoy taking walks out around town or the occasional hike. I have completed the certification of First Aid for dogs & Cats from the Canadian Red Cross. I have experience with all ages and breeds and welcome everyone! I typically work from home and choose my own hours so I’m pretty flexible on days and times, whether it be mid week or weekends. I walk with my pup daily and have space to do drop ins/potty breaks or walking every day. I have a fenced yard at my home, and my entire home is dog friendly. If your pup needs a crate there is one available (my pup is crate trained) I’ll take your dog’s lead on what kind of day they want, whether it’s calm snuggle time or more focused on enrichment or play outdoors. I have also completed the certification of First Aid for dogs & Cats from the Canadian Red Cross.
About: I would love to take care of your pets, I’m responsible and I’m obsessed with taking care of them, so they are in good hands. Im available full time since I quit my job 3 months ago and I would like to do this as a full time job. The best job! The pets would be inside unless they have to pee or poo (for dogs haha) for cats I clean the litter of my cats daily and I’m very careful with what they eat or if they need something.

About: For my whole life, we have had a family dog or two in our home. Since moving to Kingston from the west, I have sincerely missed the companionship and unconditional love dogs provide. I'm hoping to extend my love for dogs by caring for yours! Since I am a student, I have flexibility during the day while working a remote job for the summer. I am able to check on your pups or take them for a lovely walk until 4:00PM. I am fully comfortable walking and caring for dogs of all sizes as long as leashes and harnesses are provided. Additionally, I can spend time with your pup and administer food and medication, if needed.
About: I love cuddles and spending time with the dogs in my company. When looking after friend's dogs, I have helped with training good behaviour on walks, and I'm happy to enforce the norms and rules your dog is used to. I have the benefit of having a flexible day so I can pay attention to your pet when they need it. My home is fairly low energy and I hope to provide a calm and loving refuge for your pet while you are away. Unfortunately I do not board cats to keep my home allergy friendly, but I will happily take care of and give love and affection to cats on drop in visits. :) I owned a free roam rabbit for 3 years, and I have a thorough understanding of their unique needs and body language. I also love taking videos to send along for your reassurance. Let's have a conversation so I can be the best sitter for your needs! I'm a freelance artist who is currently home the majority of the time! I can happily plan my days around your pet's schedule and needs, and I love the ability to fit more walks in my day and get outside. Boarding: I do not own any other pets, and I do not currently allow sitting pets from multiple homes at once. For boarding - your dog will for the most part have free roam of my apartment, and good potty training is expected. I would not recommend very plant-curious dogs to board at my home. Coming to your home: I always maintain a base line of respect and privacy when coming to your home. My focus is your pet and their well-being and nothing else. I ensure to abide by your norms such as removing shoes, and keeping away from private areas of your home unless required. I can check on other things in your home to ensure there's no upturned trash, water leaks, or other issues while you're away. If there are any messes in your home, I am more than happy to take care of them with your direction and using your cleaning products.
About: I have taken care of cats and dogs since I was a young child. Growing up in an environment full of animals has taught me great responsibility and the importance of following owner instructions and ensuring animal safety. I grew up with an Australian Shepherd and three cats until their old age. Then I grew up with a Bernese Mountain Dog, three more cats, and a German Shepherd. Cash, our German Shepherd, is 11 years old and thriving, and he lives a privileged life with his sister, a calico cat named Krissy, who is 16. As someone who leaves detailed instructions on how to care for Cash and Krissy, I understand and respect the rules that owners have for their fur babies, as they are not suggestions but rules to keep their pets safe. And I intend to do just that, while making sure they are happy. I am a student in Kingston near Portsmouth Village and available most mornings, evenings, and on weekends when I do not have classes (excluding Thursdays). In Client Home: I follow the pet's existing schedule, including walks and feeding. I make sure that all hazards are removed and appropriate doors are locked/closed to ensure the pet is safe. I also make sure that the environment is clean, including litter boxes and waste bags, for the pet's safety and to respect the owner's home.
“Shirley was great with our cat, Maisie! She was responsive, prompt, and provided updates while we were away. I felt comfortable leaving Maisie in her care while we were gone for the holidays”

About: During University, I pet-sat and went on walks with many dogs in the community before getting Rover - with a track record of happy wags and happy owners! What makes me stand out is my ability to accommodate your pet's energy levels while we are out for a walk - I am very adaptable to speed. I pride myself in professionalism, care, and love. I am happy to go the distance, focus on exploratory walks, or even reinforce behaviour training. Just ask. 😊 I am happy to host activity any evenings and occasional weekends. I am motivated by long walks, and happy to do up to 3 hours at a time. I will provide my own treats (or specific treats, if needed for a special diet or preference!). I am aware of street safety and etiquette. I can discuss client's needs in thorough detail before booking time.
Kingston dog parents share their Rover experiences
Myriam was absolutely wonderful with our elderly dachshund. She was conscientious, prompt and kind. I received updates and photos. Our sweet pup was happy and clam when we returned, a sign she had a great day. I am looking forward to having Myriam back to care for our sweet pup in the future!

Peter was fantastic! Milo and Norman liked him immediately. We are so happy for having him to see our doggies during this winter. It was such a relief to have someone kind and friendly like him. We highly recommend his services. Thank you so much for everything, Peter!

I would highly recommend Britney and will most certainly be using her again. She was truly amazing with our high anxious high maintenance dogs. Our one has huge trust issues and he warmed up to Britney sooner than I’ve ever seen❤️ she made our first rover experience less stressful!
