“As first time Rover users, Becky did a great job walking us through the process. The daily pet pictures were much appreciated and made us confident that everyone was doing well while we were away.”

“Our cat is a shy girl, so we were so happy to see her come out of her shell and play with Grant! He even brought a laser pointer for one of his drop-in visits just for her. We felt so much better knowing our girl was well cared for while we were away. We’ll definitely be booking again!”

“Our second booking with Amy-Marie was just as great as the first. She’s a great communicator and my skittish cats seem genuinely comfortable with her. We will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Krista was so great! She was very communicative and definitely gave my cat all the lovins. I felt super comfortable having her there to take care of my fur baby. She went above and beyond keeping everything neat and tidy. I will definitely be using Krista more often when I need someone to watch my cat!”

“Sarah was wonderful with our dog, Olive! We were abroad for 2 weeks and Olive was very well taken care of while we were away. Sarah is very responsive and gives plenty of updates, is also very professional and polite. We loved having Sarah as our sitter and we will certainly be working with her when needed in the future!”

“Whitney took care of our 2 kitties whilst we were away for a week, she kept us up to date everyday with photographs and giving them lots of pets and attention, they were very happy boys! Would absolutely recommend Whitney, such a smooth experience and incredibly reassuring throughout. Thank you so much again!”

“Sasha was amazing. We needed somebody "on call" for when I went into labor. She was super flexible, patient, and responsive. And our dog is a scared rescue dog who isn't great with strangers. Sasha stayed calm and knew exactly how to treat our Lilly. Thank you Sasha! For making a stressful situation more at ease.”

“Danielle was fabulous with our cat Nala!! Took care of her so well and provided so many lovely photos while we were away! She answered so quickly and got there at the provided hours :) I can’t recommend her enough! She’s so friendly and excellent with communication. Had some last minute maintenance issues and she helped us move some things in our apartment with no sweat! 10/10 would book again!”

“Megan went way above and beyond this last visit! She offered to check in on our cat an extra time during the bitterly cold weekend and she shoveled our front steps and sidewalk without me even asking. Thank you again Megan!”

“After a disappointing first experience with Rover, I was so relieved to meet Christy. She was a total lifesaver—checking on my dog twice a day with genuine care and attention. She sent updates and treated my dog like her own. I felt at ease knowing my dog was in the best hands. Can’t recommend enough!”

“Cole helped make our first Rover experience a positive one! While traveling it helps keep us at ease knowing our pets are cared for so well. Thanks for the photos and extra long walk.”

“Jen does a great job of including lots of pictures and communicating details about how each visit goes, we never have to wonder and that provides great peace of mind!”

About: Over the years, friends and family have entrusted me with the care of their beloved pets. I spent my college years working as a dog trainer, so I have experience with a wide range of breeds and behaviors. My last dog passed away several years ago, but during the decades I was a pet owner, I learned the tricks of the trade. Senior care, administering medications, potty training--I've done it all! Pick me to watch your dog, and my children and I will take them in as honorary family members for the duration of their stay and treat them with all the love and dedication we give our own! My kids are in school now, so my days are active — school runs, a few hours as a lunch aide, and dog walks in between. I'm in and out rather than home all day, but your dog gets regular walks, attention, and a predictable routine. Happy to coordinate timing around your dog's needs. I have a 6 foot fully fenced backyard and space for crates if you use them. If you have any particular concerns, I'm always happy to discuss them during a Meet and Greet!
“Martyna was wonderful with our cat! She spent plenty of quality time with him during each visit, made sure he was well-fed, and kept him stimulated with play. We felt very comfortable knowing he was in great hands. Highly recommend!”

“Margie was so great with Rocky. She was communicative and clearly loves dogs. She is attentive to details too. She is a dog lover. Highly recommend her. Will use her again for sure. Already booked her for this coming week.”

“Charlie was on time twice a day for the entire booking to ensure my cat's routinewas not broken (as any cat ownerknows they can be dramatic). I was concerned about leaving my cats, but both cays were doing fine upon my return.”

“I am so grateful for Michael! He is very punctual and asks all the right questions to get to know your pup! I have an older dog and he was very patient with her for all drop ins. Very communicative!”

“Juan was a pleasure to work with for my short 2 day trip. Punctual, communicative, respectful and all around a nice man. I believe my dog Max enjoyed his care. Definitely will call on him again; I highly recommend him. I am happy to have met him through Rover!”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
