Availability

I generally am up early about 5:30am ready to get in a few drop in visits /walks before breakfast. I also am a certified positive reinforcement dog trainer and sometimes have a training client in morning. I took on pet sitting/walking as my full time career about 3 years ago, though I have been doing this part time for nearly a decade. I am available at designated times or at a general consistent section of the day. If you find out your working late or are invited to a happy hour, reach out. If I have access to your pets, I will probably be able to cover, and provide the care they want! I also know how busy life gets and am available to do yard poop patrol or clean your litter box and refill it (this is a great gift service for families with expectant mothers or new babies and busy schedules ask me about booking) I have chicken and bird experience, can feed and mist reptiles but must have secured cage so no one escapes (seen this on every TV show, lol)

Safety, trust & environment

This will depend on the needs of the pet and instructions of owner. Typically I approach the house/ condo, gather any mail or packages, take in concierge trash containers, paper, unlock house and greet animal. If they aren't around I will slowly go looking to be sure they are safe/healthy, then snap a photo of the shy ones and leave them be or sing, talk and sit near them for companionship. If pet is friendly we we either go outside so dogs can relieve themselves or I give kitty scratches and pets and play. I try to observe anything that may be wrong. Recently I stopped by a kitties place and her ears were bothering her, I checked in with mom and cleaned them up for her. We play or do the kitty chores(clean water, litter) dogs I usually feed about 5 minutes before I leave and then another trip for potty. It really varies depending on needs. I may massage an older dog, give meds to cat, I sometimes leave a clock radio playing, rotate lights, adjust shades, water plants /garden during longer trips. I double check locks on all doors(or make sure garage door doesn't go back up) when I leave.

Information Amy-Marie R. would like to know about your pet

Whatever you think I need to know, any specific needs or concerns. Meds at 8am, bad back, bunny chasing, food aggressive, hides in kitchen cabinets, not allowed on counter, climbs legs. I think you know what I mean.I appreciate when owners take a little time thinking about that and write me a note or include a message that could be helpful for your pet. We both want to get them the best care!

A typical day

KITTIES:it depends on the cat, some love to have laptime for 20 minutes then I rush around for chores, others want to give you a tour pointing out sights along the way while they dart in front of you, of course in the very special case of shy pets, they need a little extra treats or a quiet tone and distance. Dogs: I started out pet sitting with dogs, all types of care there. Since then, I started specialized care, I got my training certification through Catch Academy, a rewards based approach school. They do a lot for service dog training too. I currently do drop in visits for dogs, a little walking, but mostly drop in visits while dogs stay at home. I love giving them snuggle pets and playing in the yard. I will provide clean water, food and even some vacuum if hair gets the better of the house, lol. I love just hanging out with the dogs in the yard, or loving on that couch potato who may miss their humans. I believe many dogs benefit from being at home in their routine and they may be fine sleeping overnight there if I check on them first thing and in evenings, with mid day break or the dog door, for some where appropriate. Dogs who come from a rescue, may not thrive in a kennel daycare or may have trouble with the boarding away from home due to nerves. I started my career boarding in my home and realized soon after that even though I was giving great care, it was stressful for dogs to be away from their home smells and sounds specifically. I decided to drop that service and focus on in home care. It was a noticeable difference on their stress and I knew I made the best choice. I am a certified trainer like I said. Sometimes that is helping with litter boxes and feuding siblings or it can be introducing a new pet into a flowing thriving home or helping out with a behavior challenge. I focus my work on the life we have and getting a balance with our pets in that world. I can do basic foundations and trick training, enrichment, reactivity and leash walking skills and find greatest rewards with the relationship and confidence training protocols. Living happiest and with little stress!

Caring Pet sitting as it should be!

Pet care experience

I am a full-time pet sitter/ walker certified trainer with many repeat clients and highest ratings. I am available for your bookings currently. Maybe a walk is what your dog(s) needs (or what you need to not be doing after a long day) I don't even mind picking up the #2,lol. We can play and train a little as we visit. Purrhaps ....you need someone you can depend on to feed/water your cat, maybe brush or play with them while you are away. I can find your shy kitty under the couch and lie there singing or talking to her to keep her company. I have 2 active cats of my own. I hope to be the favorite new sitter for your pets on your next holiday or get away. Cats and friendly dogs may bypass meet and greet if you want, use a hideakey or give me the code if you like. I love taking care of kitties. I enjoy reading to them and giving them the best care while you are away and can't be waving their wand toy or scratching their ears yourself. I really love dogs too, last summer we adopted a medium mix of 14 breeds and she is showing us some new challenges so I decided to give up my pharmacy technician job and went to Catch academy and became a certified dog trainer. We then rescued a smaller dog who is working on his reactivity, healing that challenge. If it is a drop in at your home perhaps, we go for a nice long walk or play some in your yard. I follow your wishes if you don't want me to walk them we can stay in the yard. I love animals so they will get full attention and my vast knowledge. I took a behavior seminar with Dr Nicholas Dodman. I have read extensively about animal behavior and training and listen to 3 pet podcasts. I really enjoy what I do. Since I love animals, you can trust I will put them first keep them safe and happy. I took a massage course and know about toxins and first aid as well as nutrition and have relaxation cds. I have a deaf client, seizure client and a blind client, all are welcome, young, old and in-between! I have bearded dragon clients, chicken clients, parrot and bunnies. What I am looking for is someone who travels for work, and or travels for fun with long weekends and maybe a week or two. I can handle bunny chasers, squirrel barkers or food aggression, ball obsessed, toy destroyers and other minor behaviors ( everyone has a problem or 3). I can handle shy, friendly, herding cats, latching on cats or hiding cats, kitten cats yes please! I have so many great clients now but would love to add more. Please do consider drop ins or walks if you want. I hope to be your pets new favorite sitter/walker!!!!

Amy-Marie has watched over and cared for my 2 fur babies numerous times. This most recent occasion was very last minute and Amy-Marie was quick to respond (as always) and agreed to watch them. I have complete confidence in her. Her love of all animals is very apparent. I couldn't ask for a better partner to help take care of my two kitties.
