“Alison was so amazing with my 2 cats especially my shy boy who never comes out for anyone but made a few special appearances with her. You can tell she has a gentle loving soul”

“Kourtney was excellent! She followed my cat care directions and was great at communicating about our cats on a daily basis. She was friendly, receptive and generally great with our fur babies.”
“Kelly is the absolute best. This was our first time on Rover, and her communications were clear and quick, and she did great work reassuring us that our pup was in good hands. Loved the photographs, and really appreciated the time she took to communicate with us by phone and by text. We’re only slightly concerned that our pup now likes her more than us! 😀 Hugely impressed with Kelly - she’ll take fab care of your pups.”

“Caitlin was so great!! She was super quick to respond and attentive to all of my cat’s needs. My cat is timid, but Caitlin was so patient and caring. Caitlin also made sure to send lots of photos and detailed reports. Would definitely recommend!”

About: I have owned dogs since I was 6 and have experience with caring for four dogs at one time. I currently own two dogs and have owned five in my lifetime. I have been responsible for their care and training, and I am comfortable with both large and small dogs, puppies and seniors, as well as multiple at a time. I have experience caring for pets of friends and neighbors, and I am good at following instructions, as I know how particular pets can be! I am in college and have the ability to work whatever hours fit your needs- early mornings, late nights, weekends. It can be hard to be with your pet 24/7, and I understand that and am willing to work with whatever you may need. I am in college with an irregular schedule, so I can fit your needs at times others cannot. I am willing to work early mornings, late nights, and weekends, and I am experienced in balancing school and work. I see taking care of dogs as more of a passion, so I will work hard to make sure you get the care you deserve. I have experience caring for pets in others' homes, and I am a quick learner. I love detailed instructions; tell me everything I could ever need to know about your pets, and I will work to accommodate them and respect your space.
“Emily was amazing. She looked after my dog Godfrey so well. She was very communicative, gave Godfrey so much care & attention and did everything I asked. I would 100% recommended & will definitely be using her again”

“Angie did a great job of taking care of our cats while my fiancé and I were on vacation. She followed our more in depth instructions with the food to a tee and did a great job making sure all the litter boxes were cleaned daily. Would definitely recommend.”

About: I have been an animal lover my entire life and have grown up surrounded by pets! My first pet was our family cat, Sadie, who lived to be 21 years old. After she passed, my parents welcomed two more cats into the family, whom I still love visiting and babysitting whenever I can. I am also a proud cat mom to my two fur babies, Stella and Sophia, who are both 2 years old and full of energy! In addition to my cat experience, I am an experienced dog walker and spent three years living with my roommates' dogs. During that time, I regularly walked and babysat them while their owners were at work. I truly love animals and understand that every pet has their own unique personality, needs, and routines. I can't wait to meet your furry family members, give them lots of love and attention, and care for them as if they were my own! I am a substitute teacher and typically have afternoons and evenings available for drops in visits and walks. Because I have cats of my own, I cannot offer overnight care in my own home, but I would be happy to care for a pet overnight in their home! I look forward to creating a schedule that works for you! I live in an apartment with my two girl cats. I feed them wet food in the morning and evening, and keep a small bowl of dry food out for them to free feed throughout the day. My girls are brushed regularly and I clip their nails every two weeks. You might find some cardboard boxes from packages strewn about my apartment because those are their favorite toys! I have experience dog walking with a local company and loved meeting all of the dogs and getting to know their personalities and favorite places to go potty 😂 I treat every animal as if they were my own and look forward to caring for your babies!

About: Some of the happiest memories of my life are connected to dogs. It started with the big German Shepherds at my grandparents’ home, where I helped look after them, followed by Great Danes, Collies, Newfoundlands, and Spaniels belonging to friends, whose responsibility I often shared on trips and hikes. And then came the greatest joy of all: over the years, first a mixed-breed and later a Chinese Crested Powderpuff became part of my family. Since I can’t have a dog right now, every chance to spend time with one makes me genuinely happy. I love their endearing little tricks and mischief, the ability to train humans and to communicate so clearly without a word. I pay close attention to each dog’s personality and routine, carefully follow the owner’s instructions, and want them to feel comfortable and secure with me. Long walks, playing, and simply spending time together are another source of joy. I look forward to meeting your four-legged family members and caring for them. I work remotely, so your four-legged baby will have company most of the time. I usually leave for personal errands only once every couple of days and for no more than 3–4 hours. My schedule is quite flexible, so I’m happy to arrange walks, drop-in visits, or longer stays, with plenty of time for walks and play throughout the day. I carefully follow your instructions and your pet’s usual routine so they feel safe, comfortable, and secure with me. I never let a dog off leash in my yard because the fence is not fully enclosed. If you’re comfortable with it, I’m happy to visit a dog park where your furry friend can run and play off leash.

About: I’ve had family pets since birth, growing up with 3 dogs, and caring for family + friend’s animals on the side. I’m a cat owner with an ex stray and senior cat who knows a lot about reactive pets, and can provide compassionate care for animals of all emotional experiences. I worked with EASEL animal rescue in Ewing, NJ with their dog walking and cat adoption events. I have experience working with dogs and cats of all ages, and have a car. I’m a college student with a car, *****and a flexible schedule. I have breaks in between classes I can drop in for walks, and on most days I can spend extended time with your fur baby!! I approach all animals with a genuine curiosity. W/ your help I get to know your animal well and will learn quickly what treats, food + handling style they love. I carry extra treats on me and make sure to win your pet over, and keep them company while you’re away. ** I’m an extremely neat person as well, I will leave your home cleaner than I found it!

“Janice was absolutely amazing! It was my first time needing a pet sitter and I was a bit nervous but thanks to Janice I was actually able to enjoy my vacation. She is very kind and you can tell she loves animals, she treated my babies as her own and went above and beyond!! I will definitely be using her again in the future. I cannot stress enough how amazing she is.”

“Amanda took very good care of our Russian Blue cat Thor for several days while we were out of town. Amanda connected very well with Thor at the meet and greet. Also, Amanda was available all the times we had requested her to do check in. Amanda did a very good job! I recommend Amanda to take care of your cat or dog so you can leave with peace of mind.”

“Lisa's visit went very well. She was very punctual, kept us abreast of how things were going and my ? really liked her, which is so important! Lisa Made being away from home more pleasurable for us knowing that she was checking on r ?/?! ”

About: Pets have always been part of my life. I've had dogs, cats, goldfish, betta fish, hamsters, bunnies, and chinchillas. Currently in my care are the adorable bunny brother-and-sister duo I call the Wonder Twins, a senior Staffie mix who doesn’t like going down the shore so we’re weekend buddies, and Sassafrass, the “fraidy" cat. Each of these animals has its own rhythm and needs, and I've learned to pay close attention to what makes each one comfortable, whether that's a quiet room, a clean habitat, or a gentle, familiar routine. Since I'm retired, my days have a lot of natural flexibility built in. I can offer morning, midday, and evening visits throughout the week, not just squeezed-in slots around a nine-to-five. Pet care isn't something I fit around my life. It's become one of the things I structure my life around, alongside my own dog, Mojo. All of my care happens in your home, not mine. I come to you for dog walks and feeding visits, so your pet stays in their own familiar space with their own food, bed, and routine. For dogs, that means a walk at their pace around your neighborhood. For cats and smaller pets, it means fresh food and water, litter box or habitat cleaning, and some quiet one-on-one attention. At this time, I don't board pets in my own home. Keeping care in your space is part of what keeps things low-stress for your pet and simple for you.

Olga took great care of Mango while we were away for the weekend. She followed our instructions and kept everything on schedule, sending updates and photos at every visit - which we really appreciated. Mango seemed comfortable and well cared for. We’d happily book Olga again!

We’ve had the pleasure of Thomas looking after our three cats on multiple occasions over the past few months, and every single time he has been absolutely fantastic. Super friendly, super responsible, super accommodating, and absolutely amazing in every way. Our cats also really vibe with him, which is probably the most important part.

Morgan is awesome! She accepted my request last minute and was so sweet and attentive to my baby. I got a lot of updates and photos. She’s very communicative and gentle. I recommend 100% and I will definitely contact her again for future services. Thank you again for everything Morgan! 🫶🏼

Sabrina was absolutely wonderful! Finding her was a true blessing, especially after a bad experience with a previous pet sitter. She was so caring and paid extraordinary attention to detail during every drop-in visit. We will definitely be rebooking with her for all of our future trips!

Janice was absolutely amazing! It was my first time needing a pet sitter and I was a bit nervous but thanks to Janice I was actually able to enjoy my vacation. She is very kind and you can tell she loves animals, she treated my babies as her own and went above and beyond!! I will definitely be using her again in the future. I cannot stress enough how amazing she is.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ She went above and beyond caring for my two cats! She came to my home twice a day and was incredibly attentive, reliable, and thoughtful. She sent me pictures and updates during every visit, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. My cats seemed very comfortable and happy with her, and she even cleaned up after them and left everything nice and tidy. I truly appreciated how much care and attention she gave them. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring cat sitter. I will definitely be booking her again! 🐾💕

Hi Michael! Sorry for the late response - after the 2am time back from VEG Saturday morning then the move-in on Sunday, I’m tired!! Thanks again for helping out and for the update. Moose (with his medicine) slept through the night without a coughing fit last night so he seems to be recovering. Now we just have a high energy dog who can’t go to day care at all this week! 😂 I hope you have a great week! Also, we’re seeing A Few Good Men at Lincoln Center on Sunday November 8, so we’ll request a drop-in if you’re around!

Michelle was great with my corgi. Communication while arranging the meet and greet could have been better but overall I’m very happy with the care she gave him for the drop-in visits. She listened exactly to what he needed and gave him lots of outside time. I would not hesitate to book with Michelle again.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
