“Nancy was so conscientious and has a warmth that both people and animals relate to. I was 100% confident that Pepper would be well taken care of in her capable hands.”

“Erin is amazing ….professional, on time and so kind to my pet! I have used Erin’s services more than once and will continue to call her first when I need to be away from my pet!”

About: I currently work as a caretaker at a dog daycare center, where I care for dogs with a wide range of personalities, temperaments, and play styles every day. Whether your dog is super energetic, anxious, older, or just needs a little extra patience and attention, I’m more than comfortable adapting to their needs. I’ve also worked as a farmhand, helping feed and care for animals like chickens and other livestock. I’ve also been around animals my whole life and currently care for a cat, an elderly black lab, and a young hound puppy. I’m a college student hoping to earn extra cash doing something I genuinely love! I treat every animal like one of my best friends and always aim to make them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Weekdays: Available after 1:30 PM for walks, drop-ins, and pet care. Weekends: Usually fully available for walks, house sitting, overnight stays, and extended care. I’m a Dog Daycare worker during the weekdays, so my services may be limited to the afternoon + evenings from Monday-Friday. With dogs, I’m very patient and comfortable with all personalities, including high-energy, excitable, or anxious dogs. I focus on calm and respectful handling and try to help very anxious dogs feel safe by giving them space, approaching slowly, and using gentle reassurance like calm voice and light petting on their side when appropriate. I pay attention to body language and always aim to build trust rather than pressure them into an interaction. If a dog is acting out, I redirect their attention and follow any training or behavior instructions provided by the owner. With cats, I’m used to reading their behavior and giving them the space or attention they want. I understand that many cats are super independent and are protective about their space, but I also enjoy working with affectionate, social cats. I have experience caring for kittens, including feeding and basic hands-on care, as well as senior cats who may need routine medication or any extra attention.
About: I've owned and watched dogs since I was 10 years old. From small puppies, elderly dogs, to dogs huge as a mastiff and small as a chihuahua. Whether they be my own, friends, or families I held dear, being around and caring for dogs have always been a huge part of my life! I've fed them, bathed them, given them medicine, and have always been relable. Currently, I am mostly self-employed & studying for a Real Estate license. I do work mornings at a horse barn, and have a contract gig working occasional weekends with a D&D-styled Bed & Breakfast. Thankfully those shifts are scheduled months in advance and, for barn work, typically wrap up around 11-Noon. :) I'm always willing to give dogs the ample affections and pets they need! I'm super attentive to when they need to go outside/take a walk, have their food right on schedule, have some playtime, or whenever they just geniunely need attention and love. I honestly do it everyday for my own dogs. So I'll have no trouble giving them the same needs I give my precious wee babies.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I can remember. I’ve always had a dog in my life, taking care of them was my main priority in my house! Making sure they ate, went on walks & bathed. I am currently unemployed since I just had my baby. So I have all the time in the world to make sure your furry loved one is taken care of! I have a very friendly dog who loves to play & a big back yard where they can run & play. At your house I will let them also get out & enjoy their time outside as well as inside. Will make sure they are bathed & fed & taken out when needed to.

“Sydney is so good with our Enzo! She’s attentive to how he’s feeling on the walk (which is key with the heat and his puppy age), what training we’re working on (she reinforces what we’re focusing on), and making sure he has a great time. She’s our go to!”

“Alexandra was so loving and patient with Scuba. I can totally see why she’s so well reviewed. She was great with Scuba on their walk, accommodate my late changes due to my health issues and helped me take care of Scuba today. I’d definitely opt for her again and if possible, would also try leaving Scuba in her care when we travel!”

About: My mom has owned a local pet sitting business for 27 years so I have lived and breathed pet sitting for my entire life. I am extremely passionate about animals and the care they receive. I have done over 800 pet sitting visits for my mom’s business and each one is done with the same love and care I give to my own pets. I am pet CPR and first aid certified. I work from home so I will have all the time in the world to give your pets all the love, care, and attention they deserve! I appreciate lots of details about your pets schedule, what they do and don’t like, how you like to spend time with them in order to make sure they are as happy and comfortable as possible while they are away from you!
About: I’ve been taking care of animals since I was 5. I’ve always believed that they should be shown so much love and compassion. I currently have 3 dogs and 2 cats of varying ages. I have looked after animals of all sizes and ages so I am well prepared. I have experience with feeding, walking, bathing, bathing, nail trimming, and medication giving. I currently am putting my full attention into pet care so I will have plenty of time available to take care of your furry family members. I am available all week days and most weekends. I have no problem staying nights if needed. I treat my fur babies like they are family and I give them lots of love. I will treat your pets with the same love I show mine. I have no problem following whatever routine and habits that will make your pets feel comfortable.
About: I have a wide variety of sitting experience as I have cared for dogs, snakes, chickens, goats and even emus! There is no challenge too big and as long as you’re willing to show me how to care for your pet, I’ll be quick to learn! I generally have a very open schedule. I like to keep busy by spending my time in valuable ways and am always down for an afternoon of play! I am a detail oriented individual and, unless otherwise requested, I keep a detailed log of what I do when so that families know as much as possible about how their pets have spent their time. This also gives assurance that in the case of emergency, you’ll be able to see if anything happened that may have caused an adverse reaction in your pet. More of a precaution than anything as you can never be to careful when it comes to your precious animals!
“Alexia was very accommodating and gave our Riley lots of attention and a good walk! Photo sent was added bonus. We highly recommend her to anyone staying in Harpers Ferry . 5 star service!”
“Ximena is an excellent dog walker! She is incredibly reliable, always on time, and my dog absolutely adores her. I always come home to a happy and tired pup, which is exactly what I'm looking for. Highly recommend!”

About: Have only had 9 months total of my life without a dog or a pack of them by my side. Your fur baby will be fostered as one of my own; their walk, run, or potty break is all about them! With guidance from you, we will move at their pace. If they want to go for a run... then we run! If they prefer to walk tree to tree and smell every flower, that's fine too! I am available early mornings and mid-days during the week. I also have availability nightly to check on the pups and make sure they're ready for bed. I look forward to meeting the needs of your family, if it be walking or running the dogs, or making sure they are comfortable in your home, just let me know. I am fortunate enough to have a remote role, so my schedule is usually set to my own dog's needs. I am by no means a gym rat or a marathon runner. Yet that doesn't stop me from getting in usually 2-6 miles a day, both walking and running. While my dog is crate trained, it would be great if yours is as well, for those few errands that may take me away for up to 4 hours at a time (a busy week would be 3 half days in the office)
“Jessica has been absolutely wonderful with my dogs! She is loving, attentive, and truly treats them like her own. I always feel comfortable knowing they are in such caring hands. She communicates very well, keeps me updated, and is incredibly flexible whenever I have schedule changes. My dogs adore her, and I highly recommend Jessica to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog walker!”

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.
Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Britain. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.
For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Britain.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Britain. On Rover:
- 91% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
