“Alyssa was very responsive and attentive! She even reached out to change drop-in dates to make sure she could see my cat before a big storm while I was traveling. Would highly recommend to any pet parents!”

“Anya was amazing with our 14 week puppy. She knew exactly how to help us stay consistent with potty training and teething. She was communicative and always on time. We will miss having her when she goes back to school!”

“Natalee did a fantastic job with our nervous cat. Some pets take patience and understanding and she has both in spades. She provided great feedback and is who I will contact any time I need a pet sitter.”

“Gabbie is great! My pup is pretty shy and going through some health concerns. Gabbie was attentive to what my dog needs, has been consistently on-time and has built up trust with her in the span of a week. Sadie seems really excited when Gabbie comes by and seems to enjoy their mid-day play sessions!”

“Excellent and very gentle with my ailing elderly dog with KD and dementia. After numerous cancellations on another site, rover.com came through in a big way with Haley the day before my family trip and I am very grateful I could enjoy my family vacation feeling good that Haley was sitting for my Bella and Prudence. We have our go to sitter from now on!!!”

“My cats were in good hands with Katie checking in on them and spending some time with them as well! She even left some cute treats and toys for them. Katie went above and beyond and also collected my mail while I was out of town. I’ll definitely Italy be reaching back out next time I need a sitter.”
“Alicia took great care of my cats when I was out of town! She was punctual, respectful, and communicated well from the moment I sent the booking request. I came home to happy cats, highly recommended!”

About: My pet care experience includes not only caretaking for my own dog and family friend's dogs over the years, but I also worked for a pet boarding and daycare facility for 2 years. This exposed me to knowledge about dog behavior, caretaking, playtime, and important details like specific needs of medicine and feeding methods for each dog in the facility of roughly 130 dogs. Additionally, my pup Bella has had a lifelong experience of many diagnoses such as mega-esophagus, acid reflux, and environmental allergies which have all required very specific feedings and medicines for her. Safe to say after all of these formative experiences, I'm very attentive to all specifics that your pup needs while you are away and happy to do it!! I'm a lifelong animal lover and I love to treat my pup like royalty (as shown in my pictures), because she is one of the most important things in my life. I will treat your pup with the same love and care as my own because they deserve it <3 I'm currently job searching for an additional part-time role to do with Rover, so my availability is pretty open right now for dog walking, dog sitting, etc. Before I do any caretaking for your dog, I do require meeting the dog(s) with the owner present on a separate day to make sure the dog is familiar and comfortable with me before I come over to take care of the dog(s). When I come over to your house to either walk or dog sit, I will first make sure I read all instructions carefully for what the pet owner wants & needs for their pup. Then, I will walk/dog-sit with them and send you some pictures of your pet to give you updates on how they are doing. I love it when people send me pictures/updates while I'm away from my dog, because it makes me feel secure knowing they are living well. Please let me know if you would like this or prefer not. Lastly, I will give them some pets and cuddles as desired and some play time so they have some enrichment time while I'm over. And of course, will make sure to lock up the house as instructed by the pet owner.
“Many thanks to Michael and Beth for helping to take care of my medically complicated cat while I was on vacation. He was fat and happy when I returned. He also looked super happy to see Michael on the cat camera.”

“Thanks so much for taking such great care of the girls! I’ll definitely be reaching back out as we continue to move forward with transferring down to NC. Thanks!”

“Ellie was great with our dog! It seems to reduce our little guy’s anxiety to have her come by & spend time with him. Ellie us very reliable & conscientious m. I highly recommend her!”

“Hope is absolutely fantastic! My buddies love her. She is responsive, sent pictures and notes, and left my house as clean as she found it. We are using her again soon!”

About: I have had pets and taken care of other's pets for most of my life! I absolutely adore animals of all kinds. I have been house/pet sitting for the last few years on my own but I'm trying to expand my client base and meet new furry friends! I also have lots of experience with cats! A large portion of my clients prefer overnight stays but I am willing to do drop ins as well. I'd love to hear from you soon. I currently work part time and my schedule is pretty flexible. With notice I can make sure I am able to spend plenty of time with your babies! I have done some house sitting before and never had any complaints! I am also very responsive and I will take good care of your pets and your home. No worries!
“Kiffin always goes above and beyond for our girl. She will clean up any messes that our pup made while she was alone, always gives her what she needs, and had even been known to stay a few extra minutes for our girl sometimes! It’s Kiffin or no one for our household!”

“Brooke did a fabulous job caring for my pup Baxter in our home over the weekend. He’s very attached to his Mama and worries when a suitcase appears. Well, the photos Brooke sent me at each visit showed a very happy, playful pup who seemed to love her! I had a worry-free trip and Baxter made a lovely new buddy! My first time using Rover, and I’m hooked! I will 💯 hire Brooke next time I travel - she’s amazing.”

“Mel was great with my kitten, Shadow! She kept his feeding and litter station super tidy, communicated frequently, and was a joy to work with. For our first time on Rover, she made this super simple for us.”

About: Do you live near University City or the surrounding areas of St Louis, MO and need a trustworthy, puppy loving person to drop in on your pups or take them out for potty and a walk while you are away at work or on vacation? Let me help. I have many years of experience with various breeds of dogs. I’ve also done basic training with all of my dogs and often care for my disabled grand-Frenchie. I am currently working part time, typically working from 11am-3pm weekdays. My availability would usually be between 6am-10:30am then 3:30pm-7:30pm on weekdays with much more flexible times on the weekends. Feedings and or meds would be administered upon arrival on drop-ins. I can leave town without worry because I know my cats will be taken care of by Samantha and Christopher. They always go above and beyond to take care of our cats. They also watch my family members senior dogs and do a great job. Also they send lots of pictures of the animals and give detailed updates which I really appreciate. 10/10, will absolutely book again

Janina was so good with our 3 cats. She followed instructions perfectly, and took the best pictures of them. I could enjoy my trip without worrying if they were being taken care of. She even got our shy boy to come around by the end. Definitely recommend her and will book her again!

Kristyn did a phenomenal job watching our boys while we were out of town. Her daily drop-ins came with excellent communication and great photos, giving us total peace of mind. She is thorough, professional, and completely reliable. We will absolutely hire her again and highly recommend her to anyone.

Emma was wonderful with both of our dogs while we were away. She communicated clearly throughout and sent multiple photos, which gave us peace of mind knowing our 6 month old puppy and 10 year old dog were happy and well cared for. We would highly recommend her to anyone!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
