“Dianne, is a true professional and took excellent care for our dog and home during her stay. I would highly recommend her, and will definitely be utilizing her services again in the future.”

“Stephanie did a wonderful job pet sitting for the day for our bulldog and 2 elderly cats. We were headed out of town and needed to leave on time and she arrived right on time. Our bulldog seemed happy and well taken care of. She stuck to the schedule that I asked her to stick to so that our bulldog stayed on routine. She kept our home clean and brought in our packages. We would definitely use Stephanie again. Thanks Stephanie!”

“Kiara has taken care of our dog twice, and we couldn't be happier. She keeps our dog busy, walks her, plays with her, and cuddles her. Kiara leaves our house in great shape, cleaning up before she leaves. I highly recommend her!”

“Lauren was amazing! From the start, she was very communicative, friendly and made me feel comfortable with an in-person meeting to meet my dog before I left town. She truly saved me over the holidays and kept me updated with texts and photos of my pup while I was away. Took excellent care of my dog and apartment. 10/10 recommend to anyone and would hire her again! Thanks so much, Lauren! ✨”
“Ada house sat my dog who was both diabetic and recovering from bronchitis which required shots and other medications twice a day. She not only cared for MMO’s medical needs but provided emotional support for him in my absence. She sent pictures and conducted a River video chat with me to ensure not only Momo’s emotional support but for mine as well. I felt confident my beloved pet was in good hands.”

About: I personally own 8 pets, including chinchillas, lizards, cats, and multiple dogs, three Great Danes and two French Bulldogs, so I’m very comfortable handling everything from giant breeds to smaller, more sensitive dogs! I’m also experienced in managing different personalities, energy levels, and routines, and I always follow your pet’s specific care instructions closely. I prioritize making sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. I work a consistent weekday schedule, with a later start on Tuesdays, which gives me some extra daytime flexibility. I’m available for pet care before 9 AM, after 5 PM, and fully on weekends, and I can also use my lunch breaks for quick check-ins or walks. I care for pets based on their individual routines to keep them happy and stress-free. During drop-ins and house sitting, I follow your pet’s normal schedule for feeding, walks, and playtime. I usually walk my own dogs 0.5–1 mile morning and evening, but I always adjust based on what your pet is used to and comfortable with! I always make sure your pet gets plenty of attention and care while keeping your home clean and respected. I can also send regular updates as well as pictures so you can feel at ease while you’re away!

“Our first ever pet sitter experience was great. Fran took care of our puppy /baby as if it’s her. She is amazing with dogs and understand their needs. I would highly recommend her.”

About: Growing up my family always had at least one or more pets of various breeds so I have 20+ years of experience around animals. I have cared for dogs, cats, fish, lizards, rabbits, goats, and hedgehogs. Personally, my husband & I have 2 dogs currently, 9 & 10 years old, one having epilepsy & is dependent on medication. I have helped raise/care for/train puppies, kittens, baby rabbits, & baby goats. The only pet I'm not comfortable with is snakes, my little sister has one but I only look at it from 3ft away in its enclosure, haha. I work part time Tu/W/Th 8A - 5P, I do not mind caring for pets those days, however I will be gone all day. Otherwise, I'm available for your pets needs! My personal routine with my pets: My husband helps me care for our pets daily but his schedule is a bit different than mine, so our dogs are let out at least within 4-6 hours those days. Otherwise, we let them out every 2-4 depending on their needs (which they have been trained to lets us know if they need to go sooner). Our medical dog is on a 12 hr medication schedule. I'd prefer to care in my clients home due to one of my dogs having a reactive past, it was quite a transition when we inherited our other dog. If you have a specific routine, I'm ready to follow it to the T! I'm comfortable walking dogs on leash, hanging out/playing with them in a fenced yard, or just chilling inside. As mentioned, I have experience with medically dependent pets. I have an escape artist, so I'm always vigilant of their proximity to me and prepared to run/chase in the event something happens. I can stay at the home with the pets or I can visit throughout the day!
About: Hi there! I’m Fabrizio, proud dog parent to Bruno, my 5-year-old buddy who taught me that every pup has their own personality and needs. Over the years I’ve also cared for the pets of friends and family — from playful puppies to older dogs that just need extra love and attention. I’m flexible, reliable, and love keeping owners updated with pics and messages. With me, every walk is an adventure and every cuddle feels like home. 🐾🐶 I work as an independent sports agent, which means most of my job is done from my phone and laptop. Because of this, I have a very flexible schedule and can easily adjust my day around walks, drop-in visits, or pet sitting. Whether it’s mornings, afternoons, evenings, or even weekends, I can usually make it work. I’m happy to discuss your pet’s routine and find the perfect times to keep them happy and cared for. Your pet’s safety is always my top priority. When I’m in your home, I respect your space and follow all instructions carefully to make sure your pets feel comfortable and secure. I treat every house as if it were my own, with responsibility and care. On walks, I’m always alert to surroundings, traffic, and other animals. I keep dogs safely leashed, avoid risky situations, and make sure they get exercise in a fun but safe way. You can trust that your pets will always be in good hands with me.
“Jacqueline was AMAZING!!! She was so sweet and kind when we met and my dogs loved her! This was the first time I have allowed anyone to stay in my home while in vacation and I didn’t have a worry in the world. My house was just like I left it, clean and orderly! I highly recommend Jacqueline and Rover to take care of my dogs!!! Thank you Jacqueline!! ❤️”

About: I’ve taken care of friends’, family’s, and neighbor’s pets since 2018. I love getting to know other pets and see what makes them special. Above all else, I prioritize their safety and happiness like they’re my own pet! I am available at any time to give your pet a potty break, a walk, whatever they need! I am available for boardings as well. I go back to school in August so if you have any summer vacations lined up, I will gladly take care of your furry friend. I have a chocolate lab puppy who is 5 months old. I walk her multiple times every day and play with her extensively. I never get tired of being her playmate and I would to provide the same service to your pup! I have had another dog and cat before her as well. With at least one pet around the house I’ve been caring for my own pets since I can remember.
“Casey was great! She stayed with Penny and loved her like her own. The updates and pictures she sent really set out minds at ease. I highly recommend Casey to Cate for your fur babies.”

About: Growing up, I have always found it easy and rewarding to take care of animals I have learned to be very attentive and receptive to the needs of furry friends and just find them to be such nice listeners in return 😂 We used to have a house full of dogs and cats and it was more a pleasure, than a chore, to get to interact and take care of them. All that to say, I am completely confident and comfortable in my ability to assist in any way when it comes to our four (or 1,2, and 3) legged pals! I just moved to the Richmond/Midlothian area so I’m looking for some good chances to earn some savings doing what I love!! I have pretty open availability! I don’t sit at my house only for the fact of my two French and English bulldog babies! They tend to get tense and wouldn’t want any discomfort for any other pet! I am very respectful to the needs of the client and their furry companions!!
“Sarah has house sit/dog sit for us twice now and is absolutely amazing! She keeps us updated, sends pics, and makes sure the house is just as clean as we left it! Plus our fur babies loooovvveee her! We highly recommend hiring her! Thanks again Sarah!!!!”

About: We (myself and my husband, Ricky) are pet lovers and currently have two "wobbly cats". They don’t freely roam the house due to their wobbly condition and the stairs, so we are able to keep visiting pets separated. Our beloved dog passed away a few years ago and we have had cats ever since. Our kids are 9 and 8, and love to help. I am home full time with the kids, but occasionally Ricky will take the lead on pet sitting in our home. I am home with my kids this summer and our days are filled with a balance of fun and responsibility. We are very flexible with our time, and able to help. We have a fully fenced in back yard. We have chickens in our backyard but they can be kept up in their run if needed.
The median cost per night for house sitting in Brandermill is $50

Leaving your dog for a week can be tough, but Hannah made it completely stress-free. She kept our pup active, happy, and incredibly well cared for. I loved all the updates and pictures we received throughout the week. We will definitely be booking with Hannah again and highly recommend her!

Our two girls, Lovie and Elsa, approved of Rachael right away on her first visit to introduce herself to us. Lovie is especially clingy and likes to have her people around. Rachael was able to be with her much of the time during the week while we were gone. She communicated with us, sending pictures and keeping us up to date. We highly recommend Rachael.

Charlie was amazing with my animals and they were left happy and healthy during her overnight stay! I have a medically complex senior cat, and she handled her with absolutely no issues. We will definitely use her anytime we’re out of town. Highly recommended 😊

Gracie was exceptional! She was very thorough and communicative throughout the day providing us very clear updates. We have two older pets and she was extremely patient and responsive. She took excellent care of our dog who she was primarily there for, but also took the time to check on our cat as well who just needed dinner that day. We can’t recommend her enough and will absolutely be requesting her services again.

Wesley was so good with my pups. I have one who doesn’t warm up quickly and he didn’t let that phase him and showed confidence they would be fast friends and they were! I also have a senior dog who had some special meds/diet needs and he handled it like a champ. He takes his responsibilities very seriously. He stayed at our house - it was kept immaculate and he handled our mounds of boxes! We will be using him again!

Sam was absolutely amazing! He was so kind with both of our pets and really went out of his way to make sure that they were taken care of. He left our house extremely clean and communicated daily with us, including pictures. We will absolutely be using him again! Thank you so much!

Alison was wonderful! She was very responsive to our last-minute booking and quick to answer all of our questions. She treated our dogs with such great care, and we felt completely at ease knowing they were in good hands. We’d certainly book her again to stay with our pups!

FAQs for House Sitting - Brandermill
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Brandermill on Rover is $69.55 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 1,423 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Brandermill. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Brandermill walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Brandermill maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Brandermill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
