“We had an amazing experience with Lynn! From the very beginning, communication was clear and prompt, and I felt completely at ease leaving my dog in her care. She sent regular updates and photos, which made being away so much easier. When we came home our dogs were happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, loving sitter!”

“Haeli has been incredible to work with and took very good care of my cats while I was away for the weekend. Additionally ive really appreciated her flexibility in the schedules and super fast responses. I know Willump really appreciated you casting the fishing pole for him!”

About: I love dogs and cats. I have had them my whole life! My labrador just passed away so I am looking for some pet interaction! I miss her dearly. I have taken care of both dogs and cats with special needs, behavioral issues, and senior pets. I love taking both on walks, car rides, park trips, etc. whatever they like to do! Currently working a hybrid job so I can work from home if needed. I’m more of a home body so I will have plenty of chill time with your fur babies. I also like going on outdoor adventures like walks and dog parks weather permitting. At home I have a fenced yard in a quiet neighborhood. There is one friendly dog and one solitary but other pet friendly senior cat. Both can be secluded to the upstairs if needed.
“Ami was a fantastic house sitter with our dog Chip! She came over earlier in the week to introduce herself and meet our dog. She is incredibly friendly, engaging and a great communicator. Any questions she was quick to reply via text message and she sent some great pictures of Chip while we were gone to ensure they were doing great! Also part a very nice followup note for us when we returned home. I would highly recommend her and we’ll definitely utilize her services again!”

“Addison was so responsive and proactively reached out a few days before her stay to coordinate our schedules and make sure the dogs were taken care of. She stayed in touch while we were gone a day even ran the vacuum for me before we got home. She was awesome and we will definitely be using her services again!”

“Gabrielle was amazing! I always worry about leaving our older dog, Bogey, he has anxiety issues and needs a lot of love and care. Gabby stayed in our home while my family and I were on vacation. She did an incredible job making sure Bogey went out when needed, she cleaned up any accidents he had, and the most important thing is she stayed the night in our home, which allowed Bogey to sleep in her bed and gave him comfort all night, as if I was home. I had zero concerns or issues while gone and I hope she’ll want to come back to watch Bogey for us again. Thank you so much!”

“Abby was absolutely amazing! My dog loved her instantly and she was so attentive to his individual needs and anxiety. I was anxious to try out new dog sitters as I just moved to the area but she was always keeping me in the loop and was extra loving to my fur buddy. Will use again!”

“Ashlee was amazing with our dogs. They feel in love with her at the meet & greet. Ashlee made sure to get to know each of them and all their needs, took notes on how to care for them, and asked so many questions to make sure our girls got the best care. While we were gone she sent pictures and updates everyday and spoiled our girls!”

“Kristi did an amazing job watching my three dogs! She was able to win over our nervous Nobu and they became best friends. She communicated throughout the day to provide pup-dates and shared pictures with progress. Will book for future!”

“Couldn’t ask for better care of our pups. This was Theresa’s 2nd time staying with our dogs which can be a handful. This trip was for 10 days and it was almost like we were never gone as judged from the dogs’ behavior upon our return. She kept in touch sharing pics of our pups throughout. It’s wonderful traveling knowing your pets are being well cared for!”

“I recently booked Marc to take care of my cat. She's definitely a less than friendly feline with strangers, and he was great with her. She requires meds twice a day and he had zero issues getting her taken care of. I'd absolutely recommend Marc to take care of any animal if you need help.”

“Terri was an amazing dog sitter! We were away camping with limited access to our phones, so I was super glad to have a responsible and reliable person to watch the dogs. When Terri met our dogs, it was clear she had experience with excited dog personalities. She was super respectful of our home and we came home to happy and healthy dogs. I look forward to booking her again!”

“Jason was a fabulous dog sitter who watched our dog in our home for five days. He was responsive to communications, sent sweet pictures of my pup during their time together and I came home to a house that was much cleaner than I'd left it. I'd definitely recommend him and seek him out next time I go out of town.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Boys Town
Haeli did an amazing job in housesitting our two dogs over the 4th of July. One of our dogs is very anxious and grouchy with new people. But Haeli had him calmed down and open to pets in one afternoon! She also kept them safe and relaxed with the fireworks going off. Our house was also so clean and orderly when we returned. We cannot recommend Haeli enough for a responsible and caring sitter for your pets. Would give more than 5 stars!
Abigail did an amazing job watching our cat for the week! She gave her extra attention and care, provided pictures and videos everyday, and responded to any messages I sent very timely. Our cat was a happy cat when we returned all thanks to Abigail! Would highly recommend!

Analee was great. She was great with Simon and Sully and great with her communication. The boys really liked her and they especially liked her son Hunter. He was a first class playmate and they had a blast. When we got home the house was perfect and Simon and Sully were worn out from playing! Can't ask for more. We will book Annalee again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Boys Town walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Boys Town maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Boys Town choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
