“Erin does a wonderful job keeping in touch throughout the day and sending pictures of Milo’s activities. She makes sure he gets some walks in and numerous naps and lots of love.”
“Our puppy Ozzy had the best time! We appreciate Lauri and her family opening up their home to him. He came home happy and satisfied. We will definitely be sending him back for future days!”

“Jill was awesome! She was able to host Baxter on relatively short notice. It was our first time leaving him anywhere and Jill did a great job keeping us updated on how he was doing. Baxter came home happy and sleepy!!”

“Alex and Sarah was great for the first day!! They let me set up a meet and greet with there two doggos, George and Milo, beforehand! Received a few photos of Winston (my dog) and George throughout the day! They are going to be besties! I will be using them full time for the future!”

“Eliza is so sweet! She sent me photos during the day. She kept me updated on how Midnight was doing. He seemed to really enjoy his time there and has gotten to make lots of new friends! I will definitely continuing using her to watch my baby.”

“My dog had a great day at Jill's house. Jill was attentive to my dog's needs and you could tell how experienced she is around pets. She is flexible and easy to communicate with. About: Your pup must be respectful of cats please. I completely understand curiosity, just not stalking or chasing. I took so much care of our lab when she was 15 and had Cushings. I definitely have a sweet spot for senior pets. She has since crossed the 🌈. Max is our 5 yr old Husky/Lab mix and he's our sweet big boy. We have love for big and small dogs! We have a huge grassy 6 and 4 ft fenced in yard (we connected to our neighbors 4 ft fence - see pictures) and Max would seriously love a friend to play with or just chill with. My husband and I work from home so one of us will be home all the time. We usually go on a mid morning walk and an evening walk, weather permitting. My kids are 11 and 16 and adore animals. We have a cat, Freddy, who loves Max. We will love your pet like they were our own ♥️ My husband and I work from home full-time. Our dog has separation anxiety so one of us will be home when your pet is here! We have a 6 and 4 ft privacy fence, large grassy backyard. Max gets on the leather couch but not our fabric couch or bed. He doesn't ever try. We wake up early to feed Max at 7 so early mornings is a non issue in our house! We typically go on 2 short walks a day (15-20 min). We're a chill household.
“Jayda was well cared for with Katie. She made herself right at home and made a new friend (Scarlett). I would definitely recommend Katie and plan to return with Jayda in the future.”

“Jodie is wonderful! We left our 10 month old Lucy with her for an afternoon to make sure everyone (people and dogs) was compatible before leaving Lucy for a week in July. Lucy had a great time and everyone got along really well. Jodie was very caring and interested in getting to know Lucy. We will definitely use her again!”

“Kelly was a wonderful, kind, flexible, easy-going dog sitter. She took care of my dog for a day while we were visiting from out of town, without being able to do a meet/greet before hand. We returned to a happy, calm pup. Thank you, Kelly!”

“Amy….you were so welcoming to our little Wolfie! I could see from the video you sent how much fun he had there..never imaged he would be so confident and comfortable. I am SO THANKFUL we selected you from all the Rover Sitters we could have chosen!”

“This was our first time using Rover with the new pup, and we are so glad we found Michelle for it! She sent pictures throughout the whole afternoon and night, and was super flexible in accomodating our weird work hours. Stevie came back to us totally worn out - she obviously had a great time! We'll definitely be going back to Michelle in the future!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Boys Town
Thomas was and is amazing. We have one doggo with attachment issues and has never been apart from us so we were all very nervous to see how she would do. On the flip side we have a very grumpy old doggo that dislikes almost everything and the both loved Thomas. They both came home so happy. Borderline diva energy. We will 100% use Thomas again. He really does care about what he does and it isn’t just a “job” for him.

It was a fabulous experience leaving our pups with Katherine. We were traveling to Omaha, so she really helped us out with watching our Frenchies for the day. Our dogs had a great time and they seemed very calm and relaxed around Katherine. After pick up, my husband and I agreed that we wish Katherine lived in our area, as we’d definitely book her again! Next time we’re in Omaha, we’d love to get Glacier and Denali on her schedule!

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NE ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
