“Morgan went above and beyond making sure my pups felt comfortable while I was away. I would definitely recommend her to others and I will definitely be calling on her services again in the future!”

About: I have a dog, 3 cats, 2 ferrets, and bearded dragon, who I love very much. I grew up taking care of all kinds of animals and have always had a passion for it. I love that every pet has its own quirky personality and would love to meet your baby! I am currently available full time which gives me plenty of time to care for your pet. I am available Mondays- Sundays, at all points in the day. I strive to make your baby as comfortable and happy as possible while you are away. I love to keep you updated so you can enjoy your time away and feel at peace about leaving your pet at home.

“Donnis was amazing with my high maintenance Pomeranian. I am an overly anxious dog mom but she made me feel so comfortable while I was away. I’ll definitely be using her again in the future. Thank you so much, Donnis!”

About: Majority of my years with Rover have been in NYC and have had a great reputation with them as well as my clients. I care for my own dogs (frenchie/boston terrier mix and a boston terrier) as if they were my daughters. Well trained and taken care for emotionally and physically. I have always been a dog person and never have found a dog I have not gotten along with. Aside for studying voice acting, I work as a part-time bartender so I am usually available. I keep clients updated at all times, especially with housesitting appointments. I have babysat, walked and cared for many dogs and have always been praised for my patient, loving treatment of them. I will play with them, feed and care for them however needed. If there are any special needs, I am willing to accommodate as well. My time is flexible. I always put work first and my personal schedule works around that. I like to make sure at the very least, the basic needs of pets are taken care of before anything else. I have a fenced yard and a play pen for small dogs. Toys, water bowls if needed, and will give attention and playtime if your dog is an active.
“Abigail is always on time and has a great attitude. Our dogs warm up to her quickly and she knows what she is doing. We highly recommend her for your pet sitting needs”

About: Hello, my name is Kendra! Here’s a bit about me! I have always loved animals. Growing up my grandparents had a cattle farm and I would spend summers there helping with the chickens, dogs, and cats. I have helped train dogs including my own. My dog Eevee is a Shiba Inu who was born during the pandemic. I learned how to train my dog with positive reinforcement only training and believe it’s the best way to create trust. My parents also had me help with our dog an American Eskimo who lived to be 16. Our cat who was a mutt but we adored lived to be 21 years old. We also had two ferrets that were amazing and lived for 5 and 6 years. Caring for pets in the best way insures they live long happy lives. I have helped many people with their dog training even though I’m not a trainer. Consistency, makes it easiest for the dog to understand. I want to know all your pets habits and corky behaviors. Tell me their schedule and how you do things with them to keep them happy! It’s ok if they aren’t perfect cause none of us are! If there is a behavior you’re working with them on I’m all ears and happy to help support you. I love walking dogs! However, it can be difficult for some dogs with all the distractions of the world. Also depending on the time of year, time of day, and weather we may not be able to walk every visit. Some dogs don’t have the stamina for a 30 min walk. That’s ok if we need to play with their toys in the house or backyard as well! A great play session helps tire them out so when you come home they have burned some energy already. We could also play with puzzles that I have to get their mind engaged! Mental stimulation can sometimes be even more exciting for dogs! For cats we all know they have a mind of their own which makes me so happy! If you’re out of town or you work long of hours and need me to feed your furry family member I’m your gal! I especially love cats! I find them to be adorably entertaining and know they don’t like dirty littler boxes or water. I’m happy to help support your cats while you’re away! Let me know their likes and dislikes and if they have a favorite toy! Maybe they just need food, water and a clean litter box. If you have a snuggler that loves people I will be their temporary family. Reach out anytime for your walking and drop in visit needs! I am very responsible and will treat you, your home, and pets with the upmost respect. I can’t wait to meet your furry family members! I provide walks for dogs and drop in visits for both cats and dogs. Tell me your routine and I’ll follow it. My schedule is very flexible and pet care is what I mainly do for work. My other job I travel for once a month and have that blocked off on my calendar. I keep my calendar very organized and up to date. I only care for others pets in their own homes. I will clean up after your pet if there are any messes and ensure your home is safe and secure when I leave. I will always make sure they are fed, have water, and are happy. Safety is huge for me! If it’s hot outside we can’t walk because we don’t want burnt paws. Which is why puzzles, bubbles, and other fun activities work so well. Animals love routine and structure. Which is important for me to learn from you about your pets. I have a silly personality so I’ll definitely speak sweet and silly to your pets.
“Sarah was amazing! My dog Charlie seemed to like her very much and she was well taken care of while we were on vacation. She went above and beyond and I will definitely be reaching back out to her to watch Charlie next time we’re out of town again.”

“Maya is wonderful. Very professional and attentive. She was punctual for every visit and cared for my boys very well. Will request her for all future needs if she is available. I recommend you do as well.”

“I am so impressed with the loving and professional care that Nora provided to our babies Omar, Barbie & Blaze! Nora took care of them for 8 whole days (the longest I have been away) and I couldn’t be happier! Nora paid great attention to detail, showed loving kindness & always communicated with me! I felt at ease knowing Nora was taking great care of them! Thank you so much Nora!”

About: As a devoted pet owner, I share my life with two amazing dogs: a sweet senior pup named Cookie, who is 12 years old and has a calm, gentle spirit, and a playful, energetic puppy named Roscoe, my lively puppy who keeps me on my toes with his boundless energy. Together, they’ve taught me so much about patience, playfulness, and unconditional love—and they’re my inspiration for becoming a trusted dog walker and sitter. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I make sure to wake up early to give my dogs their morning walk and some playtime. Throughout the day, I set aside breaks for feeding, training, and cuddles. By the evening, we have a wind-down routine—more gentle walks and lots of bonding time—so they fit in seamlessly with my schedule. At home, I care for my pets by making sure they have a structured routine. I provide them with regular meals, fresh water, and daily exercise. It’s all about balance, ensuring they feel loved, safe, and stimulated every day.

About: Over the 10 past years, I have been able to build amazing bonds with my furry clients and their owners. I started pet sitting when I was 14 to show my mom responsibility and that I could take care of a dog on my own (it took 5 years to convince her btw). My mom agreed to it, and my classmate dropped off Leo, a 7 year old Shitzu, at my house and it was the best week of my summer break. Since then, I have cared for puppies as young as 8 weeks to seniors up to 17 years. I have been able to keep loyal and consistent clients because of my trust and honesty, but also because I am able to adapt to each pets different personality and energy. I have experience with all types of dog breeds from chihuahuas to pitbulls and yorkies to labradoodles, as well as cats since 2020! I treat every home with respect and every animal as if they were my own. My main goal is to keep them happy and in their normal routine for meals, walks, and medications, as well as providing peace of mind for owners. Message me with any questions or to set up a meet and greet 🐾 I'm currently in my last year of college and am on campus Monday - Wednesday. I'll have plenty of time to spend with your pets and I'll be looking forward to having new study partners 🐶🐱 I ask about and respect boundaries they have for the home. I keep pets in their routine as close as possible. If a feeding or walk time interferes with a class, I communicate with owners to let them know. I like to ask questions and then schedule a meet and greet to make sure we are a good fit.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
