“Donnis was amazing with my high maintenance Pomeranian. I am an overly anxious dog mom but she made me feel so comfortable while I was away. I’ll definitely be using her again in the future. Thank you so much, Donnis!”

“Elizabeth did an excellent job looking over our cats! She took good care of the litter boxes and played with the cats. I would rebook with her for our next vacation”

“Morgan was wonderful! We have 4 cats and she is the first person I have ever hired to take care of them. She was prompt and did everything I asked. I received detailed updates and pictures after every visit. She obviously loves animals and took care of them just like they were her own. Apparently, my cats did not even miss us while we were away because we were not greeted upon our return. We will be using her again and again. Thanks Morgan!”

About: Majority of my years with Rover have been in NYC and have had a great reputation with them as well as my clients. I care for my own dogs (frenchie/boston terrier mix and a boston terrier) as if they were my daughters. Well trained and taken care for emotionally and physically. I have always been a dog person and never have found a dog I have not gotten along with. Aside for studying voice acting, I work a part-time job so I am usually available. I keep clients updated at all times, especially with housesitting appointments. I have babysat, walked and cared for many dogs and have always been praised for my patient, loving treatment of them. I will play with them, feed and care for them however needed. If there are any special needs, I am willing to accommodate as well. My time is flexible. I always put work first and my personal schedule works around that. I like to make sure at the very least, the basic needs of pets are taken care of before anything else. I have a fenced yard and a play pen for small dogs. Toys, water bowls if needed, and will give attention and playtime if your dog is an active.
“Abigail did a great job taking care of Chewy, Allie, and Blue! She was dependable, took great care of all three of them, and gave me peace of mind knowing they were in good hands while I was away. Everything went smoothly, and I really appreciate the care and attention she gave them. I would definitely recommend Abigail and would be happy to have her take care of them again!”

“Highly recommend! Daniela watched our three dogs over the weekend and was fantastic. She's professional, friendly, and sent us tons of pictures and detailed updates after every visit. It’s rare to find someone so attentive to a multi-dog household. Five stars!”

“Sarah was amazing! My dog Charlie seemed to like her very much and she was well taken care of while we were on vacation. She went above and beyond and I will definitely be reaching back out to her to watch Charlie next time we’re out of town again.”

“I recommend Merit for anyone. She goes above and beyond to take care of my babies. I forgot fill my babies bowl on the day I left and I asked Merit, whether she can go and fed them. She went there at 4.30am to feed my babies. I was so happy and impressed about her commitment towards the animals.”

“Maya is wonderful. Very professional and attentive. She was punctual for every visit and cared for my boys very well. Will request her for all future needs if she is available. I recommend you do as well.”

“Iyah was very caring for my cats while I was away on a work trip! She went above and beyond to make sure I was updated every evening, and Mort and Maeve loved her! Will definitely book again.”

“Taylor was absolutely great. I am a crazy dog mom and she met all my expectations and took great care of both my large dogs and two kitties while I was at work. Will be using her regularly!!”

About: Growing up on a farm I learned to care for animals ranging from big to small. I’ve had dogs in my family since I was around 6 years old, I currently have 3 dogs . I’m currently working from home which leads me to have plenty of time to stop in and take care of your pets whenever you need. Whenever I will be sitting for you , your dogs safety will be my top priority. I’m experienced in dog walking and dog sitting .

About: As a devoted pet owner, I share my life with two amazing dogs: a sweet senior pup named Cookie, who is 12 years old and has a calm, gentle spirit, and a playful, energetic puppy named Roscoe, my lively puppy who keeps me on my toes with his boundless energy. Together, they’ve taught me so much about patience, playfulness, and unconditional love—and they’re my inspiration for becoming a trusted dog walker and sitter. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I make sure to wake up early to give my dogs their morning walk and some playtime. Throughout the day, I set aside breaks for feeding, training, and cuddles. By the evening, we have a wind-down routine—more gentle walks and lots of bonding time—so they fit in seamlessly with my schedule. At home, I care for my pets by making sure they have a structured routine. I provide them with regular meals, fresh water, and daily exercise. It’s all about balance, ensuring they feel loved, safe, and stimulated every day.
About: I have lots years of pet experience. I also do dog walking-boarding with Wag! Where we become certified and are background checked. I have two dogs on my own, a Chiweenie (Duke) and Maltese mix (Chess). I live with my parents and we are a pet friendly home! I always had a passion for animals and I will guarantee you and your pup won’t regret any minute! I love going to the dog park on my free time, taking walks and of course my favorite is play time (which is all day long). I do work part time over night but my parents are disabled so someone is ALWAYS home. I hope that you choose me to fulfill your wants for your pet and I hope to see you in the near future :) Thank you, Alexis PS: I do understand accidents happen when your pup enters a new home but if your dog constantly urinates or poops on carpet/floor along with them being let outside to do their business I will add a cleaning fee of $20. I work over night so I’ll be home all day to ensure your pup gets all the attention they need with lots of play time and walks. I treat each pet as if they are my own. All allowed on furniture and free to roam all throughout the house but I do have a gate keeping all the dogs away from the front door so you have no worry about your pup sneaking out. They also have free access to the backyard.

About: I have a dog, 3 cats, 2 ferrets, and bearded dragon, who I love very much. I grew up taking care of all kinds of animals and have always had a passion for it. I love that every pet has its own quirky personality and would love to meet your baby! I am currently available full time which gives me plenty of time to care for your pet. I am available Mondays- Sundays, at all points in the day. I strive to make your baby as comfortable and happy as possible while you are away. I love to keep you updated so you can enjoy your time away and feel at peace about leaving your pet at home.

About: For several years I took care of my friends dog Koda while living with my friend. My friend was busy in graduate school and working part time, so she asked me take care of Koda in the mornings and evenings when she could not make it home in time. That included walking Koda and feeding Koda. Those responsibilities grew to taking Koda to the vet when necessary. I learned a lot about dogs, and I am able to handle taking care of dogs. Safety is the most important thing when taking care of a dog. My schedule is flexible. I would prefer at least 2 days notice for scheduling purposes. I am available throughout the day seven days a week. I would ask the client what is important when taking care of a pet in their home. Does the pet have any allergies? Do they have any health problems I should be aware of?
About: I’m so glad you’re here! I’m Janelle, and I have been house sitting, pet setting, and dog walking on the side for the last four years! I have experience with a bunch of breeds, including poodles, corgis, retrievers, collies, spaniels, dachshunds, and more. I have a very sunny disposition, and I feel that is 100% the reason why I always get along with dogs. I would love to spend time with your pet and get their steps in, as I need to get my steps in as well! My schedule is very free as I freelance, and I will be able to be there for you and your pet’s needs. I also have experience with birds and cats! I am currently freelancing remotely, and I have plenty of free time. Pet care is easily fitted within my schedule, as I’ve had the blessing of choosing what times best work for me! I am here for you and your pet, and my schedule is very stable. No dogs can ever feel unloved or lonely when they are with me. From the calmer dispositions to the exciting ones, whether you want them to burn off some steam for the day or get in their daily steps, I am also looking for both of those things, so we are excellently suited. I give every pet in my vicinity all my attention and care, and I would love to spend time with yours!
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Windsor
I couldn’t be happier with the care my dogs received this from Nora. She followed every instruction perfectly, arrived on time, and kept me updated with photos and messages throughout each visit. She was incredibly loving and caring with my dogs and they were very happy. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter. I will definitely be booking with Nora again!

Barbara was great with my skittish dog but she was great and the pup seemed to enjoy her company when she came. Very much appreciated Barbara’s and I know my dog loved having her around for all the pets and hugs. She is also a good communicator with updates, highly recommend

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
