“Eleanor was great! Would definitely work with her again. She was willing to come the day before to meet my dog, brought in a package that came, and sent us pictures while we were gone. She took great care of our dog by taking her on an extra long walk. She also had great communication through the day letting us know when she got there/left. She did amazing!”

“Dominique took excellent care of my pups and my place. She followed the dog and house care instructions to the letter. They instantly took to her at the meet and greet. She sent tons of updates and pictures throughout the sitting. Will definitely always book her to care for my pups during any future getaways.”

“Marissa was outstanding! Dependable, loving, knowledgeable, and considerate. Plus, EXPERIENCED! I interviewed 4 other rover dog sitters before selecting Marissa. I am so glad I took the time to meet multiple rover sitters. Marissa came with 20+ years of experience and she excel beyond my expectations. She understood the care for my dog and she did not fear my Doberman. When I returned home, my dog was rested and just excited to see me. In the past I spent so much money in boarding him and picking him up with issues from his anxiety or just poor management. BUT not with Marissa. He was calm and no issues were presented. It feels great to have someone I can trust and I am confident in. Again, I highly highly recommend Marissa. Trust me, I am booking her again, soon.”

About: Hi there! I’m a certified veterinary assistant and veterinary technician with over 4 years of experience in veterinary medicine and approximately 7 years of hands on experience working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. As both a veterinary professional and a dog owner myself, I understand that every dog has unique needs, and I strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’m experienced in administering oral, topical, and injectable medications, recognizing early signs of illness or discomfort, and caring for senior pets and dogs with medical needs. Whether your pup is energetic, shy, or needs a little extra patience, I provide calm, attentive care tailored to them. My goal is to treat every dog like family and give you complete peace of mind knowing they’re in experienced, compassionate hands. I work full time at an all feline hospital and also work at a veterinary emergency hospital. I’ve been working full time since I was 18. If you want me to be more specific, I even had my own business in dog training and grooming when I was 16! I care for every pet as if they were my own. I follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, fresh water, potty breaks, exercise, playtime, and plenty of affection. My goal isn’t just to ‘check in’ on your pet, it’s to provide the same level of attentive, compassionate care I’d want for my own animals.
“Rae did a great job with our little girl. She spent lots of time with her and got to know her well. She sent us photo and video updates daily. We will use her again.”

About: I have had pets for 17 years and so far I have 2 cats and 5 very friendly dogs. I know every behavior and jests at them or if they feel sick I am at home full time. The only time I go out is to go to the market and the occasional medical appointment. The rest of the time I will be caring for and raising your little loved one. My house has a secure fence, a yard to run around in. They will have fun meeting new friends. When they get tired they will sleep in a bed or blanket if they want.
“Allison did an amazing job taking care of our puppy dog while we were away for Thanksgiving. She sent us lots of photos and our baby girl clearly adored her. We felt at ease knowing she was in good hands.”

About: Growing up with 2 dogs and 3 cats, I had several years of experience with taking care of animals. I have also been pet sitting for friends and family for the past 6 years, taking care of dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes. I am currently working a part time job from 6 AM to 11 AM on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but otherwise I will be able to spend a majority of the time with your pets. I also am a full time student at UCSD, so my schedule can vary a bit when school is in session. When I am house sitting I can do whatever is needed. All I need to know is their sleeping arrangements, feeding times, and walk/play time frequency. I never invite guests over and I prioritize the pets I am caring for at any given time.

“Jackie was very helpful and patient with our shorty bulldog. He can be quite particular on walks or around other dogs. She constantly updated us with photos and information regarding his medicine. Would definitely be utilizing her services in the future. We would highly recommend booking with Jackie!”

“I highly recommend Enrique as a dog and house sitter! He was incredibly attentive to my dogs, making sure they were well-cared for, walked, and happy while I was away. He kept my house spotless, which was a great bonus. Enrique also communicated frequently, sending me regular updates and photos of my dogs so I could see how well they were doing. It was clear that he genuinely cared about them, and it gave me peace of mind to know they were in such great hands. I’d absolutely trust him again for any future dog sitting needs!”

“Ashley took such good care of our girl, Ellie! She kept us updated throughout the weekend and played and snuggled with her. We greatly appreciate her care and attention! ?”

“Priscilla is the best! Daisy loved her! We are staying down in the San Diego area for a few days in our motorhome. Beth has been so great! Frank was thrilled to see her again, and she clearly enjoys spending time with him. She is great about following my directions, and takes such good care of.him and our home. It is so important to be able to trust the person staying in your home and caring for your canine family member. So happy to have Beth as our sitter again.

We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter for our two dogs while we were away on vacation. From the start, Melissa took the time to understand our dogs’ routines and made sure everything stayed consistent, from feeding schedules and walks to playtime and bedtime habits. What impressed us most was how quickly our dogs grew comfortable and trusting Melissa. One of our dogs can be a little skittish at first, but it was clear they felt safe, relaxed, and genuinely cared for the entire time we were gone. We also appreciated the regular updates and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind when we were away. Coming home to two happy, calm dogs confirmed they were in great hands. We highly recommend Melissa to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy dog sitter!

Greatest person to watch your dog. Very flexible with any times and treats your dog like one of his own. And he takes great care of his dogs for sure. Tyler will dedicate the entire time you book to making your pet feel like a rockstar and it doesn’t get any better than that.

I'm so happy to have found Charlene! She stayed with my dog Frank for 3 weeks and sent daily updates with photos. She followed my instructions, watched for a deliveries, and was so nice. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with Frank, and he enjoyed it, too. I felt really comfortable knowing he was in good hands for a longer than normal trip. She even left my house as clean or cleaner than when I left! I'd love to have sit for us again and highly recommend her.

We’ve used Carla multiple times and have always had a great experience. She is reliable, communicative, and clearly care about our dog. We get regular updates and photos, and our pup is always happy and relaxed when we get home. It makes everything so much easier knowing our dog is in good hands. Highly recommend.

I would totally recommend Eleanor! It was my first time having a dog sitter and she was excellent. My husband and I were worried about leaving as we just moved here but Eleanor made everything a breeze. She took great care of our dog and sent updates multiple times a day! Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely book with her again!

Jaime is my girls’ regular sitter for drop-ins. This was her first time staying overnight with them and she was amazing as always! Bailey and Celeste love Jaime! She has been a much needed and special person in our lives. She’s very understanding of the life of a Sailor, for which we’re very grateful. Thanks, Jaime!

FAQs for House Sitting - Boal
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Boal on Rover is $53.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 6,003 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Boal. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Boal walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Boal maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Boal choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Boal. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
