“Summer was so kind and compassionate to our pets. We felt so relaxed and at ease on our vacation knowing they were well cared for. Will definitely ask her again to house sit.”

“Becky was great about sending pics of the dogs and her letting them use her for a pillow. She kept us informed and arrived on time, well a little early which was nice. We will definitely use her again. Thank you Becky.”

“Amazing sitters that really treat your pets as their own! Best experience we’ve ever had with a cat sitter and now feel more confident about leaving our little guy for up to a week.”
“Johanna was amazing! It’s hard to find someone you trust to take care of your pups but I felt safe leaving them with Johanna. She was very communicative and provided lots of updates. She really cares about what she does and we will use her again!!!”

“Melissa is a PHENOMENAL Rover. Above and beyond. We've probably used 8-9 rovers across 3 states over the past 6 years and she is one of the best. Took the girls on extra long exercise down to their favorite beach and cleaned them off afterwards, took our trash out to the curb even when I forgot to ask, kept everything clean and checked in regularly. Even started wash with guest room sheets before she left. Most importantly, Happy happy dogs. Pictures of Tova (our more aloof pup) snuggling Melissa Day 1 spoke volumes. Will absolutely book with her whenever we can. 10/10”

“Jennifer was fantastic! She was so patient and attentive with our nervous dog. She gave regular updates and we felt so at ease leaving our pup with her. She also took such care with our home. She helped with trash day, getting the mail and watering my many plants. We highly recommend Jennifer if you need wonderful care for your pet, and someone to stay at your home. Five stars for sure!”

“Erica took very good care of my pups with an open line of communication and photo/video updates. She played with them and knew how handle my jumpy puppy. Looking forward to rebooking again and again!”

“I cannot express enough how thankful we are! I have a rescue pup and he has some separation anxiety but loves making new friends and Zach was the perfect friend while I was out of the country. He house sat for me and watched the pup. I can home to a spotless house and a very very happy, well cared for doggy. Zach even played guitar for him while i was gone and worked on training with games. Would HIGHLY recommend. Not many people out there this good with animals. Thanks again! 😘”

“All good with Ariana! The puppies Chidi and Ellie had a great time playing with Ariana's puppies, everything was in good order when I returned, no complaints from the puppies! Thank you!”

“Hello Fellow Roverenes! Good news is Diane is wonderful, now a great friend of Chidi and Ellie, and went above and beyond the call of duty when Chidi lacerated his left front ankle pad and needed stitches. Bandaged the leg, got Chidi and Ellie in the car, got them to the pet hospital and settled in, stayed with them to make sure everything was good until I arrived. Thank you Diane!”

“Brougan did a great job taking care of our home and our pets while we were gone for a week. He checked in, sent pictures. The pets seemed to really like him. We would definitely ask him to sit for us again.”

“Thank you Robyn for keeping Chidi and Ellie dry, warm, exercised, entertained, fed, loved, and everything else! Much appreciate your attention to Ellie's meds while she is in recovery for dental surgery, and for keeping things reasonably in order! Much appreciated! John-”

“We had a good experience with Madisyn! The house was left spotless and communication throughout the stay was great — she sent updates, pictures and was easy to reach. Our one note is that she was out quite late one evening, which we weren't expecting. I'd recommend discussing schedules and expectations upfront, as she is a popular sitter with other jobs. I would still consider booking again, as we discussed that issue and she was very responsive. Thanks, Madisyn!”

“We have had Chloe watch our dogs multiple times and every time she goes above and beyond in her love and care of our pups. She has worked with our young Labrador teaching him new skills and loving on our old golden. She also is an amazing house sitter! Thank you Chloe!”

“Ruby exceeded our expectations in caring for our Aussies. She came by to check in right before we left for our trip and provided us with regular updates and adorable photos. Our dogs were calm and happy when we returned, a testament to her exceptional care. She was diligent in cleaning up after herself and took the initiative to strip the bed and place the dog dishes in the sink. We couldn't be happier with her service and will undoubtedly book Ruby again for our future pet sitting needs!”

“She took great care of our dogs and home while we were away. She kept us updated, followed instructions, and made sure the pups were comfortable and well cared for. It gave us peace of mind knowing they were in good hands. We came home to happy, relaxed dogs and everything in great shape. Thank you, for helping make our trip much less stressful! Most importantly, she was very sweet to our babies, and that means the world to us. 🐾💕”

“Brett did a fantastic job taking care of my dog while we were out of town. We had an emergency with our original sitter and he came to the rescue last minute. He spend lots of time with my dog and kept in consistent communication with us.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Belmore
Our two little terriers love Becky! She has cared for them for a couple of several-night stays. Becky keeps us informed and is responsible and respectful of the house. We can tell that the dogs had lots of exercise and attention. We will definitely ask her to come again!

We had such a wonderful experience with Emily! She took amazing care of our golden retriever, Honey, and gave her lots of love, attention, and exercise while we were away. She kept us updated throughout our trip, which gave us so much peace of mind. She was also incredibly helpful and flexible when a few unexpected things came up at our house while we were gone. She handled everything calmly and was always willing to help, which we really appreciated. She went above and beyond in so many little ways, including bringing in packages, taking care of the trash cans, and keeping the house tidy. We actually came home to the house looking cleaner than when we left! We’re so grateful for how well she cared for Honey and our home. She was thoughtful, dependable, and incredibly easy to work with. We would absolutely have her watch Honey again!

There are good Rover sitters, and then there are GREAT Rover sitters. Wendy is a 5 star plus sitter. Our other sitter cancelled last minute, but I was able to get a message to Wendy before our plane took off and upon landing she had responded that she would step in. She had snow, a power outage, and had stepped in without a meet and greet and handled all that came her way. She sent regular pictures of our pets and it was clear they took to her right away. So grateful for her. One of the best sitters we have had.

Could not recommend more! I’m usually anxious about leaving the dogs, but Trish was able to come watch my dogs (on short notice-family emergency on my end) and she made me feel so comfortable and made sure the dogs were very well taken care of. Thanks Trish!! 5 ⭐️

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Belmore walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Belmore maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Belmore choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
