I work online, which gives me time and location freedom to consistently be of service day or night. . No spare bedroom? No problem. I can park my small camper van in your driveway. I am fully self-contained, yet available to be a steady companion for a lonely, elderly, or mischievous pet. I am also able to sleep in your home. Whatever arrangement keeps your pet most comfortable. . I will happily - maintain walking and feeding times - cuddle and play while sending daily updates - pick up mail, water plants, take out trash, etc. - return your home as clean or cleaner than I arrived . More about me I’m a calm, grounded Capricorn from Alaska. There, I shadowed my mother, who professionally shows and breeds Pembroke Welsh Corgis to the highest standards. She taught me a great deal about attentive care and nutrition. . My knowledge of animal nutrition expanded through my work with 5Strands, an intolerance testing company. There, I learned how pet food is produced and how common fillers, particularly grain, can contribute to inflammation. Many chronic issues, such as obsessive paw licking, hair loss, digestive upset, and skin lesions, can often be traced back to diet. Through my work, I saw numerous cases where identifying intolerances through hair testing and adjusting a pet’s diet significantly improved their quality of life, eliminating repeated vet visits and steroid treatments. I felt immense purpose and joy through that experience, and so I maintain a discount code with 5Strands (RELIEF) and am happy to help owners interpret results. . After ten years as a Massage Therapist, I retired my practice in Capitola to focus on my health back in Alaska, where I found myself helping friends and family with overnight pet care. Before long, those stays turned into referrals beyond my immediate circle. Although I am new to Rover, caring for animals in their own homes is something I have been doing for years. . We had such a wonderful experience with Emily! She took amazing care of our golden retriever, Honey, and gave her lots of love, attention, and exercise while we were away. She kept us updated throughout our trip, which gave us so much peace of mind. She was also incredibly helpful and flexible when a few unexpected things came up at our house while we were gone. She handled everything calmly and was always willing to help, which we really appreciated. She went above and beyond in so many little ways, including bringing in packages, taking care of the trash cans, and keeping the house tidy. We actually came home to the house looking cleaner than when we left! We’re so grateful for how well she cared for Honey and our home. She was thoughtful, dependable, and incredibly easy to work with. We would absolutely have her watch Honey again!
Emily was wonderful with Poppy. From the moment we met, I felt very confident leaving my pup with her and Poppy was like her very much. Emily sent several photos of Poppy and she looked very happy and well cared for. I will definitely use her again the next time I’m in Santa Cruz and need a dog sitter.
It’s always great having Emily help out with our dog. She was able to come last minute for a drop in visit while we were out of town for the day. She is a great communicator and always sends nice updates.
Emily was wonderful with my pups. They seemed very sad to see her leave. They went on walks daily. I felt very secure and safe with her in my home. Definitely would request her on my next trip out of town.
As usual, Emily watching our pups gives me great peace while away. She’s a gem and so glad to have found her!
If you need a reliable, professional, and caring pet sitter, I cannot recommend Emily enough. She recently took care of our two dogs and was phenomenal! She kept us thoroughly updated the entire time and also left our home immaculate. Our dogs are our babies, and seeing how happy, content, and relaxed they were after spending time with Emily proved she treated them like her own. 10/10 experience!

Schedule
I work remotely in a way that gives me both time and location flexibility, which allows me to be consistently present throughout the day. What would otherwise be quiet independent work becomes shared companionship.
