“Matteo was great with my big, high energy, reactive dog! He was also extremely communicative and punctual, and he even brought a package inside for me! I will definitely be using Matteo's services again!”

About: (Previously known as AJ) I am a lifelong animal lover with experience in dog, cat and some limited horse care. With a natural affinity for animals, I enjoy working with many different critter personalities and always honor and meet any animal where they are at. I have experience with senior pets and I am comfortable administering medications with instructions. I firmly believe that you are the expert on your fur kids- I use a great attention to detail to do my very best to enrich any animal’s life with all of the information on hand, rather than taking a cookie cutter approach. If I need clarification, I am not afraid to ask. My number one priority is always your pet’s health and safety. It would be an absolute privilege to help care for your beloved family members! Please feel free to message me with any questions. Thank you for your time! My schedule is fairly flexible as I work part-time at night. Please reach out with your needs and we can try to work something out! I am comfortable offering services in your home, I am not able to offer services in my home at this time due to having three doggos in my house! In your home I would start with questions helping me get familiar with your pet’s routine, their normal vs abnormal behaviors, and any logistical tasks needed in my role to ensure their heath and happiness as well as yours.
About: I’ve owned both cats and dogs my whole life, and more recently I’ve owned chickens as well. Starting with cats, I’ve fed and cleaned up after the ones we’ve owned, as well as taken care of the cats and kittens we fostered over the years. I’ve bottle fed them, helped give vaccines, and everything else in between when it comes to raising and taking care of them. I have also helped pet sit many of our neighbors as well as friends cats over the years. We have also owned several dogs, and I have tons of experience with walking and feeding them. We currently own 3; 2 small dogs and 1 big dog, so I have learned how to take care of many sizes of dog. Like with cats, I’ve also walked and fed my neighbors dogs many times when they’ve gone out of town. Lastly, we’ve raised more chickens than I can count in the past 7ish years, and I’ve taken care of chicks we got from breeders, as well as chicks born from our own hens and roosters. All of our chickens free range and are egg layers, so I treat them like any other pet and not like livestock. I have experience feeding them, fending off hawks and other predators, putting them to bed every night, as well as animal-proofing the coops themselves. For almost my whole life, I’ve helped feed our cats and scooped their litter just about every day. I also walk and feed each of our dogs throughout the day. Finally, I feed and put up our chickens many times throughout each week. I follow any instructions my clients may have and can cater to their pets needs. I love on and treat others pets the same way I would with my own, and have done so for neighbors, family, friends, as well as many others.
About: I've taken care of dogs since I was in middle school (I'm in my mid-twenties now!). I've worked with puppies (most recently, a Dachshund-Chihuahua mix), young dogs (my own is a three-year-old Great Pyrenees <3), geriatric dogs (my first was a Cocker Spaniel with dietary needs), and diabetic dogs, giving them their insulin injections. I've also worked with farm animals professionally as a wrangler and as a cowgirl on my family ranch. I also have experience with kitties, volunteering at the cashiers-highlands animal shelter and as a foster mom. Most recently i’ve been taking care of 6 kittens and their feral momma, feeding them, caring for them, and socializing them for adoption! I am an educator, so I am completely available this summer! I travel to Asheville ~3 times per week, so I am available to take care of pets in Sylva, Waynesville, Canton, Asheville, and anywhere in between! I respond to the needs of your pets! If your pet is totally rambunctious I am active and can take it on a long walk/run or play with it in a designated location (yard, specific room, park, etc.). If your pet is anxious we will practice getting comfortable with each other and sharing the same space as each other until they are comfortable and can trust me. I appreciate general information and instructions about your pets needs/demeanor beforehand, but I will create a happy and safe environment for your pets based on what they need from me too!
“Lillie has been great working with our new dog Archie. She is very patient and gives great updates, which is very helpful when trying to figure out what behaviors we need to work on with him.”

About: I have had pets my entire life and grew up on a small farm with dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, ducks, and even sometimes quail! I am currently a full-time mom of 1 human child and 3 of the four legged variety. I have cared for a variety of different dog breeds and temperament's. I’m very active and would love to get your dogs outside on walks, runs, or hikes. I have a very flexible schedule since I am a stay at home mom! Just let me know your current needs and I can likely accommodate most schedules. About: Are you looking for some love and fun for your girl or boy while their loved one is away ! Can’t wait to see what this brings and the connections I am able to make ! I’m a full-time worker who recently moved to the mountains of Western North Carolina. While I do have a busy schedule during the week, I truly enjoy spending my free time caring for animals and exploring all that the area has to offer. I previously spent time dog sitting in the Atlanta area and had a wonderful experience building relationships with both pets and their owners. About: I’ve cared for cats and dogs ever since I can remember. I’m very keen on the comfort of your pet and respecting their boundaries. My two young girls are with their dad every other week; I only accept bookings on the weeks I don’t have my girls. I promise to love your fur baby just like my own and have clear and consistent communication while paying attention to any special needs your pet might have. I’m currently working from home as a freelance translator, so I have plenty of time to help you achieve your pet care needs. I also have a part time job a few days a week. I live right up the road from a local park with lots of open grass; I’m on a fitness journey so I will happily run and play with your pet as much as needed. I have a young cat that can keep your pet company and if need be, I can always enclose him in my room.

About: I have had pets since I was in kindergarten. I have grown up with two dogs and two cats in my home for my entire life. As a child, my parents always held me responsible for giving the animals food, water, and cleaning up after them. I have always shown responsibility and love towards animals. I am enthusiastic and active, I love to be outside, and getting to interact with animals while doing so, is a plus! I missed my pets while I was away at school, so I would volunteer to take dogs from the animal shelter for happy hour in my free time. I now have a sweet baby of my own that I adopted from a local shelter ❤️ I am currently working part time so my schedule is very flexible and I can work around a lot of needs with adequate lead time. I love to provide the dogs what they need. If they want to go outside for a run or walk, we can hit the trails! If they want to snuggle on the couch, we will cozy up with a blanket.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
