“Emily took wonderful care of my fur baby, Sugar, while we were visiting Nashville. She has a large fenced yard where the dogs can play, and I appreciated the extra safety measures she took. Emily put Sugar’s collar on in addition to her harness in case she somehow got loose, which showed me she was thinking ahead and treating Sugar like one of her own. Before I left, Emily carefully introduced Sugar to the other dogs and made sure everyone got along and that Sugar was comfortable. That gave me tremendous peace of mind. I felt completely comfortable leaving my girl in her care, and it was obvious Sugar was well loved and well cared for while we were away. I would happily trust Emily with Sugar again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and conscientious pet sitter.”

“Alexandra and katya are the absolute best. My lil guy loves them so much. I feel so relieved dropping him off and seeing how he can't wait to see them. He also comes home calm and well exercised. Very thankful!”

From long walks by the river to movie nights chilling on the couch, my spot has proven to be a great place to host your pup. Send me a request and I will be quick to respond! About: I am very diligent in safeguarding the pets in my care. I am kind and affectionate and I will respect your rules. I have been a pet owner for over 25 years. I have also been involved in caring for and rescuing many pets over the years. This has been my great joy. My home is pet friendly and pet safe. I understand how it feels to leave your beloved pets and I know how much it means to know that your sweet ones are feeling happy and well loved while you are away. I enjoy sending my clients pics of their pets during their stay. Providing secure accommodations and a fun place to stay is paramount. This is my absolute purpose, goal, and pleasure. Pet sitting is my only job. I am home all day. With your approval, your dogs will be free to enjoy inside or outside. I have a secure privacy fence and a pet door for easy access. Of course, if you prefer a more regimented potty break schedule and time outside, I am happy to oblige. I allow dogs to make themselves at home. Sitting on furniture is a-okay. (as long as you approve.) I will certainly respect your rules. I like our dog visitors to be comfortable, feeling safe and welcome. I have a ChiWeenie; who sleeps A LOT and keeps to herself mostly; however, she is friendly. I also have a very friendly and playful Jack Russell/Beagle mix who enjoys company. My yard is secure and fun. We also have patio furniture they can lounge on. I keep our upstairs access gated. Of course, I will follow your instruction in regard to their sleeping. I am happy to do a “meet and greet” prior to your scheduling.
“Carolyn is very conscientious and caring, making sure she knows everything about how to take care of your fur baby. The boys had a blast with her and I got lots of pictures and videos. Thank you!”

About: Hi! We are Saori and Jonathan. We love pups and hope to take care of yours. Jonathan grew up caring for his family dog, and we have regularly taken care of friends' dogs for 10+ years. We finally adopted our own rescue dog in 2020 (an adorable little Beagle named Alfie), who has taken a *very* long time to come out of his shell. We have a lot of experience working with professionals to improve Alfie's anxiety. That experience has taught us a lot about reading dog body language and the importance of creating an environment that makes nervous dogs more comfortable. Your dog will get that same loving, calm energy here. We strive to make our home a dog-friendly location safe for every dog. Saori works part-time from home, and therefore has a lot of flexibility to play with your pooch and spend quality time together! On a typical day, we take dogs for a walk on the quiet neighborhood streets, on the trails in Shelby Bottoms, or in the dog park (if they are up for it). On weekends, we like to take a longer walk on trails whenever we can, and have plenty of cozy downtime at home in between. Given our own dog's separation anxiety, someone is always at home. If we ever need to leave them alone, we will let you know. We have fenced-in front and back yards where your pup can enjoy a sniffing adventure, playing fetch, or sunbathing on the lawn. We have dog beds throughout the house, and our canine guests are allowed on any furniture. We do not crate our dog, but can keep the same routine you have at home and let your dog sleep wherever they are most comfortable. We feed our dog twice a day and can accommodate other schedules or feeding dogs separately.
“Daria is literally the BEST when it comes to someone watching your pup. I have a brand new puppy (now 3 months old) and work 12 hours shifts. Daria was always willing to be up early to let me drop off Mack on the way into work and grab her on my way back from work. I genuinely felt like Daria loved Mack as her own and always felt as ease when Mack was with her. She sent me plenty of pictures throughout the day and now Mack has a new best friend, Boone. Thank you Daria :)”

“Alescia was amazing with our dog Fern! She sent us regular updates and pictures. Our dogs got along great together and played a lot of fetch outside. I know Fern felt comfortable and Happy in Alescia's home and will be excited to go back!”

“Gracie had a great daycare day with Toni. Love getting the pictures of her snuggling with Toni too. We had an urgent situation with my air conditioner quitting working and was really happy to be able to have a nice place for Gracie to spend the day.”

“Excellent sitter! Great communication. She sent lots of updates and took great care of my dog. My dog came home happy! Would definitely rebook next time I’m in the area!”

“Teresa was super friendly, helpful, efficient, and flexible. She made our first time using Rover very comfortable. Coco loved taking a break from our crazy vacation to hang out while we toured some museums.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Avondale
We had an amazing experience with Shane! Not only did he take excellent care of my fur baby, he was super easy to communicate with and on time for every meeting. My pup was always so happy and excited to see him. He always kept me updated with pictures each day, which was so nice to see. I will definitely be using him in the future and highly recommend him!

Alsacia was wonderful with my dog. At the meet and greet, I instantly felt comfortable when I saw how she carefully handled the first meeting between my dog and hers at the meet and greet. Annaleigh had a minute to sniff around and get comfortable before meeting a new dog in a new environment. My dog can be a little nervous in new places, but I could see that she was instantly comfortable. She came home from daycare happy. I could tell she had a great day

Brittany is truly amazing with my dog. He’s full of energy and can be a lot at times, but she handles him with so much patience and care. She’s watched him multiple times, and every single time I feel completely at ease knowing he’s in good hands. He always comes home happy, well taken care of, and full of excitement—and that says everything. He also gets so excited whenever he sees her, which lets me know he genuinely enjoys being with her and feels comfortable around her. Brittany is a wonderful dog sitter, and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, attentive, and great with dogs.

My 7 month old (Coton de Tulear) Dubu had a wonderful day with Colette and the other dogs 🐶 She was thoughtful and responsive, and it was clear she genuinely loves and cares for every dog she watches ❤️ I felt completely at ease knowing Dubu was in such good hands. I highly recommend her to anyone with a small pup who wants their dog to feel safe, loved, and happy 🐾

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
