About: Have 5+ years of animal care experience/volunteer work and as well have pets of my own including dogs, birds, and cats. Have worked for the Metroparks as an Animal Care Intern as well. I’m currently working part-time and have a genuine passion for animals and looking for varieties of experiences because I am looking for a career in the animal care field as well. I have a fenced in yard all around and also pay attention to daily behaviors and movements. Also prioritize outdoor time and play time as well.
About: I’m a cat person at home but I love others dogs. I can’t walk past a dog without saying hi to them, so your best friend is safe with me. Let me walk your pup or just drop in to let them out. If you have cats, I’m available for feedings and pet sessions! I work full time during the week 8-4:30, so weekday check-ins and walks would have to be at 5 PM or later. The weekends are pretty open. I am looking to make some extra money doing something enjoyable. I am not a pet sitter, but I’ll walk your dogs and check in on your cats. Let me take your pup for a spin around the block for a potty break or energy release! I’ll play with your feline friends too so they don’t get too bored while you’re away.
“Amanda is a wonderful dog walker. My beagle loves to pull and sometimes reacts to other dogs. Amanda found no difficulty walking him. She is not only comfortable and knowledgeable about dogs but it’s also apparent how much she loves dogs. I will also use Amanda to dog sit for me because she has such a great rapport with my playful beagle.”

“Bailey was great, we did a meet and greet with her prior to the 2 walks she did for our pup. Bailey was on time, sent pictures and updates, and we would be very comfortable using her again in the future!”

About: Dogs have been a part of my life for over 30+ years. I have experience with a wide range of breeds, sizes and personalities, as well as ages from puppies to seniors. From energetic walks to cozy snuggles, I believe in nurturing, exercising, loving, and maintaining routines for dogs. I am sensitive to the cues for playtime, cuddles, and when a dog needs quiet time. My speciality is being present to the daily needs of family pets, which can include dosing medicine, bath time, ear cleaning, and training routines. I Pet care naturally fits into my daily and weekly routine because I am building my schedule around it. As a part-time pet sitter and walker, I am fortunate to have the flexibility to give each pet my full attention for morning, midday, and evening walks, playtime, feedings and care. I do not have a fenced yard and would require a leash for your pet at my home. Please provide a leash for let-outs and walks, a bed, and a crate in case of your pet needs a secure environment. Pets are not allowed on furniture or human beds.
About: I have been taking care of pets for as long as I can remember! I have taken care of dogs of all ages from little puppies to cute oldie senior pups. I have experience and comfortability with giving meds, going on long walks, and playing with lots and lots of toys. When I was little I would take care of my neighbors dogs with basic responsibilities like letting them outside and feeding them, which made my love for dogs grow even more. I started a summer "business" with my sister and friend just trying to find an excuse to play with the neighborhood dogs. I even got to take my love into a career when I worked in a vet clinic for almost two years during covid. When owners were not allowed into the building, I would be the one to love, hold and play with the animals during the appointment time so that they were still taken care of. I also worked down in the boarding facility, feeding, cleaning, and walking a ton of dogs who all needed to stretch their legs a little. I take time with each animal as much as possible, so not only do they get to spend time with someone, but they get to spend time with someone who actively is just as excited to see them! I currently work part time, mostly mornings, so any visits in the afternoon or evening would be perfect for my schedule! I get my schedule as early as three weeks in advance, so I know exactly when I am free about then. I can also stay with dogs, but need to be able to leave in the early morning but usually isn't a problem! I have done lots of combination house sitting and pet sitting for many of my neighbors throughout the years! I always clean up after myself, and leave the place better than I found it. I can also do some odd chores here or there if you would like, I have watered lots of plants! Keeping the pet in the comfortable environment is most important to me, as that is their home and I want them to be as cozy as possible while I am there.
About: I have a strong background working with animals of all kinds—from wrangling 60+ horses at a working ranch, to helping kids with special needs ride and care for horses through a PATH program in Rocky River. Animals have been a huge part of my life, and being around them brings me a deep sense of joy and purpose. I have completed my doctor of physical therapy degree and am currently working PRN, so I have time to work with animals! I also volunteer with Love-A-Stray’s cat division, assisting with feeding, cleaning, and trap-neuter-release efforts. At home, I care for five rescue cats (mostly tabbies!) who are social, playful, and get along great with one another.

About: Hey there! I am an animal lover who has 10 years of experience raising and caring for my family's tiny furry best friend; Mia (Dachshund/Pomeranian). When we are together we love to take daily walks, run around the yard, play tug of war in the living room, and snuggle on the couch. I make sure she is fed, groomed, and, of course, gets her morning and evening treats. I live with my sisters cat in our apartment and am comfortable caring for your feline friends, as well. My friends and family have entrusted me to take care of their pets, large and small, over the years. Whether it's going for a long walk or spending quality time at home, I'm here to make sure your furry friend feels safe and loved while you're away. I am currently between jobs so I have a flexible schedule to work with. Aside from errands and remote tasks I have plenty of time to give to your furry friends. I am here to adapt to your pets routine and environment to keep things as comfortable and normal as their usual day to day as possible.
About: I have experience with sitting a wide range of pets. This includes dogs, cats, turtles, rabbits, horses, goats, chickens, and even geese! I now reside in Avon Lake. However, throughout college and as a resident of Athens, I provided overnight care and check ins for folks who own farms, or for folks who had a smaller furry family. I have learned on the job from hands on experience, and I have owned my own pets as well! My clients love that I provide them with regular updates and pictures of their animals. Not only will I care for your animals while you are away, but I will keep up with chores so you don’t come home to a mess! My main goal for many of my clients was to provide them some relief from their farm as they took a much needed vacation. I hope to work with you so that you can take that trip stress free! I am open to offer services anytime as long as I am aware 2 weeks in advance so that I can schedule around it. I currently don’t have a job so my availability is open. Thank you! I establish a loving relationship with all animals, no matter how big or small or whether the dog has a disability or health conditions. I have taken care of a blind elderly dog named Otto who has since passed away. That dog taught me so much about how to establish a connection through touch and sound. I can find ways to workaround roadblocks with any animal (and offer them lots of treats and pets while I’m at it).
“Can’t say enough about how much of a dog whisperer I feel Maddie is! My dogs love walks but also are not too crazy about rain so while they still went on a short walk Maddie still gave them some great attention in the house afterwards. Thanks Maddie!”

I am comfortable with doggos from puppies to senior and strive to give them the unconditional love and attention that their family members provide. I work remote. I am open to coordinating with owners for convenience. I have worked with dogs that are crate trained and those that are not. I am available throughout the day, as I work remote. A couple days a month I have to go in to the office. I am usually home on the weekends. I live close to a dog park and walking trail to give your furry friend plenty of exercise as needed. I will ensure the dog is cared for and the home is in the same, if not better, condition from when owner left.

“Marissa is awesome! She has been walking Lilly for over a week now, and I couldn't be happier. She is dependable, always comes in the time frame I ask, and I feel that she cares about my dog. She always gives me updates in addition to the card that Rover gives you. As a dog trainer myself, I have met several dog walkers who don't actually know how to walk a dog. You can rest assured that Marissa will properly walk your dog. I highly recommend that if you need a dog walker to look no further than Marissa.”

About: I have had pets since childhood. Right now I am petless😞 so would love to take care of your babies! Please know you can trust they will get lots of love! Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
