“Linda is THE BEST! I travel a lot for work and she is always flexible and available when I need her to come and check on Arya! She sends the cutest pictures and I know Arya just loves her! Couldn’t recommend her more!”

“Sophia was amazing with our dogs. I didn’t have to worry at all and when I got home, they were doing great. I would highly recommend Sophia because she took the time to do a face to face chat beforehand and followed our instructions entirely. The dogs seemed very happy and she supplied us with pictures the whole time. I am very happy!”

“Emily did an excellent job with our dog. She took very good care of him, was always on time, and she was very responsive to messages. She also provided detailed updates with pictures. She is very reliable and we were very happy with the service.”

“I've never used a dog sitter before. This was the first time I've ever left my dogs in the care of anyone who was not a family member. I was also nervous because this was the longest I've ever been away from my dogs!! Leah and Zoe quickly made the nervousness disappear. I received tons of pictures and feedback regarding my girls! And once I saw how friendly my Chihuahua grew to be towards them (because she's very picky), I knew I made the right choice!! I plan to use these ladies each and every time!”

About: I have taken care of both dogs and cats for a week+ on end. As well, I have two large dogs at home and two cats. One of my cats has diabetes, and so I am comfortable with giving him his insulin as well. I am currently a full time student, but other than class I am available to take care of your pets! The best times of days for me to stop by are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings, as well as the afternoons every day. In your home, I love playing with lots of toys with your pets (I have two big dogs at home) as well as I love going on long walks (bonus if your pet has a lot of energy!) I also love just sitting and being company- I always have homework and love having a buddy to sit with me
“Erica has been great to my cat, Angelina! She sends daily pictures and updates. In advance, she met Angelina to see if she’d be comfortable with her. During the cold weather, Erica was also conscientious of ensuring my heat was on for Angelina.”

“Ashley has been sitting for our cats for over a year now, and we love her. She consistently goes above and beyond, and we feel incredibly confident they're getting the care they need. medical and behavioral issues aren't an issue for her. She's super communicative, and we love how many photos and videos we get.”

“Cheyenne updated me on everything about both my animals and took care of them exactly how I wanted. To what I had seen in pictures my animals absolutely loved her and ended up becoming extremely comfortable with her!”

“I am very pleased with my rover experience. I love the check in/check out notifications. Sierra was awesome with Wrangler. He is very selective with people and they seemed to have gotten along well. He has a specific feeding routine and needs medication daily and I felt very comfortable with her. She sent pictures and communicated with me every visit. I would definitely use her again.”
“We highly recommend Grace as a pet sitter and will happily hire her again. She provided excellent care for our cats, giving them individualized attention and ensuring they were content and relaxed upon our return. Grace's communication was prompt and clear, keeping us informed throughout - we loved the pictures and thoughtful updates! Additionally, our home was left clean and well-maintained. Very much appreciated!”

“kathryn was so great with mitsi! she left me a detailed review of their time together (two walks in one day) and mitsi looked super happy in the photos. i’ll definitely be reaching out to kathryn in the future for times i need care for mitsi!”

About: I’ve raised kittens from the streets, I have raised puppies when they were 4 weeks old up and still do. I love any animal. Always walking and playing with dogs as well as love training them! I work remote, so am super flexible when it comes to anything to do with pet sitting/dog walking! I love every animal and breed! At a clients home if they have a yard I’d love to play outside with them and monitor them to make sure they aren’t ingesting anything bad! If they don’t I will go on walks with them when it is not too hot for them or even bring them to the dog park!

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Athens
Destinee is hands down one of the best pet sitters I’ve ever had. She goes above and beyond and my very sensitive and dramatic cat absolutely adored her. Can’t thank her enough for keeping him company and taking care of him for such a long stretch of time. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Fabulous love and care for our Maine Coons. Even caught an ear infection near the end of our trip with video so we were able to arrange a vet visit for the morning after we got back with no delay. So nice to be halfway around the world knowing Olivia is feeding, cuddling, and looking after our darlings!

Leah is an amazing sitter - she did drop ins for our cats while we were on a long vacation. This was the longest we’ve left them, and Leah made us confident that our boys were getting the best care the entire time we were away. We really appreciated the detailed summaries and photos from each and every visit, it was so reassuring and our kids asked to see the pics all the time! We will definitely hire Leah again and would recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter!

Lauren was great! She came by for a meet and greet, and the cats were excited to meet her. She asked good questions about their care. Lauren’s updates were comprehensive, and I liked reading about how the cats were doing and seeing the pictures of her playing with them. One of the cats was on a daily liquid medication, and she even included pictures of Rosie taking her medicine. I felt really comfortable leaving my kitties her care. I highly recommend Lauren!

Luciana took wonderful care of my senior kitty while I was away for a long weekend, and I’m so grateful! Beyond making sure he had fresh food/ water and a clean litter box, she took genuine care to make sure he felt safe, happy, and loved. Luciana was incredibly kind and patient with my kitty, and it gave me such peace of mind knowing he was in such caring hands. I highly recommend her!

Landen and Nataly were amazing!! They are kind people who genuinely care about your pet like it’s their own! They sent several pictures at each visit, cleaned the litter box, gave food and water, and kept my girl entertained while I was gone! I highly recommend them and will absolutely reach out to them for all of my pet sitting needs!!

Lindsay is an excellent cat sitter. From the very beginning, she was responsible, kind, and extremely attentive. She took wonderful care of my cats and made sure they were comfortable, safe, and happy while I was away. Lindsay kept me updated with messages and photos, which gave me great peace of mind. It’s clear that she truly loves animals and treats them as if they were her own. I highly recommend her and would absolutely trust her again.

Very kind and attentive with my cat, Albert! She was very communicative throughout the entire process, and I felt at ease while I was away knowing that Albert had such a great caretaker! Absolutely zero complaints, and I would definitely recommend Tameron to anyone in Athens looking for a pet sitter.

This was my first time trying Rover, and Emma was wonderful! She was quickly to respond when booking, and a great communicator throughout the visits. Always kept me informed, leave notes about food/water/litter and sent photos of both my kitties. One of my cats is very skittish, but he warmed-up super quickly. She is truly an outstanding pet caregiver, highly recommend.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Athens. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
