“Jacquie was fantastic! She took us on last minute and welcomed our dog into her home. She took fantastic care of our dog, taking to for walks, to the dog park, and other adventures. She consistently shared daily pictures of our pup enjoying herself. She was quick communicating with us as well. We can’t recommend her enough!”

“Emerald was amazing. My Sawyer loved being there, which made me feel so much better knowing that someone will give him a one on one attention, even though she has her own dog. She also made me feel like Sawyer was her own and did everything with Sawyer that her dog does. I would absolutely go back again as long as she would have Sawyer back.”

“Briana was awesome! She clearly loves animals and has had a lot of experience taking care of them. She put me quickly at ease with taking care of our doggo. We loved receiving pictures of her while we were away. Briana would also reach out with a question, as needed, which we welcomed. She took great care of our sweet doggo! We highly recommend her for any pet sitting!”

“My dog Miko seems to have enjoyed his stay at Sara's place. He came back all relaxed, complete opposite experience of leaving him in a pet hotel where he came back agitated for many days. Sara's place is perfect with a big fenced garden so he could play freely with her dog and others. I can only recommend her.”

“My dog had a great time, Paul is super experienced in taking care of dogs with all sorts of needs and i felt so good knowing my dog, who had sustained an injury prior to booking, was in good hands. Would recommend and book again!”

About: I've had numerous variety of pets my whole life, Worked in pet retail for a time, and genuinely feel I understand animals more than people sometimes. Currently I'm between more traditional 9-5 employment, so I have the time and space to give the care needed for the little (or big) ones. I am open to discussing the individual needs of every client, but the basics of walking, feeding, just plain old attention are well within my capacity. Happy to help facilitate any training that is being done as well.
About: I've been around animals my whole life and currently have two pet goats who we spoil like dogs. My partner and I have 30 acres of beautiful land surrounded by woods, which is a perfect haven for running, fetch, and all sorts of outdoor shenanigans. I work remotely from home with a flexible schedule. I typically work a few hours in the morning, and then am outside working on projects and playing with the animals all day. We have a large property (about 30 acres) surrounded by woods with lots of room for your dog to run and explore. We also live near some great hiking trails.
“My dog Simba spent his Thanksgiving with Gabriel. He is a male Golden Retriever, two and half years old. He needs a lot of exercise. He never lived anywhere before. I was very worried before leaving Simba with Gabriel. But he had a wonderful experience. He played a lot with other dogs, came home calm and relaxed. Gabriel has a good understanding of dogs and very confident. I am definitely coming back again.”

“Angelina was fantastic! She took great care of Sammy, and sent us lots of photos while we were away. Excellent communication and very easy to work with. I would absolutely ask Angelina to watch Sammy again!! Thank you!”

“Melissa was great ! My two Golden Retrievers had such a great time and loved being around the kids. They came home calm, happy, and clearly well cared for. It’s such a relief knowing they were in great hands. I would absolutely book with her again!”

“Melissa is my go-to sitter for whenever I need to go on longer vacations. I like that Mipha has various other friends to play with to expend her energy and I like seeing the pictures of them goofing around (pictures get provided daily). Melissa is always a text away and will answer promptly.”

“Alberta is great; she has nice, spacious pens and always takes very good care of our buns, even though some are "high maintenance." She always sends updates and photos during the stay. Five star service!”
“Jie and her family were amazing dog hosts. She sent us daily updates and videos and was an incredible communicator. This was the first time we’ve left our furry children with someone and could not have been happier. We were so relaxed knowing they were in great hands and will recommend her and this service to all the pet owners we know!”

“Dawn and her family were awesome! I needed to find someone to watch Sammy. They accepted him as their own and gave me updates on a daily basis. She is very communicative and I felt safe leaving Sammy with Dawn and her family. Thank you so much for everything! ❤️”

“Lee was great !!! Always sent picture and video updates throughout his stay . My dog had a great time and I would definitely book Lee whenever I needed him !!! I highly recommend him !!”

“Mary was a wonderful pet sitter. She was incredibly responsive and touched base with me frequently with photos while I was on vacation. I think my dog would happily have continued staying with her when I went to pick her up!”

About: I have been around animals of all kinds for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my family had horses, dogs, cats bunnies, guinea pigs, birds - you name it, we probably had at least one! I absolutely love dogs and currently have a very high energy pit bull names Bizzy. He is a total sweetheart and loves all other living creatures, but he does need a lot of exercise. Luckily for both of us, lots of exercise happens to be my favorite thing! I am a marathon runner and love to take dogs for long walks or even runs if that’s what they need. I know that all dogs are individuals, so I want to get to know every dog I care for. If your dog needs a long run - great! If your dog needs cuddles and quiet time - awesome! I look forward to getting to know you and your pups! I work from home and love hanging out with dogs. During work breaks or on the weekends, I love fitting in hikes with dog friends. I’m happy to care for dogs in my home as long as they can get along with my dog and cat. If I’m in their home, I will always try to go above and beyond to keep the dogs happy and comfortable.
“I couldn’t be more pleased with the care my dog received while I was away! Lingwen was absolutely wonderful. From the moment I met her, I felt completely at ease leaving my furry friend in their hands. She was so professional, friendly, and attentive, taking the time to learn my dog’s routine and preferences. During the time I was away, Lingwen kept me updated with regular photos and messages, which gave me peace of mind knowing my dog was in great hands. My dog was happy, healthy, and relaxed when I returned. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter for their pets!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
