“Helena was quick and thorough with communication. She went above and beyond to help Dakota feel comfortable. It is evident how much Helena loves dogs and wants them to feel at home. I felt very comfortable leaving my senior pup with her.”

“Jerry was absolutely amazing! My booking was pretty last minute because I was so scrambled that weekend, but Jerry was able to pull through and helped me so much! Bud looked like he had an absolute blast with Jerry and Bud got taken on so many new adventures which he looked like he absolutely loved. Jerry was even able to pick up Bud for me which saved me so much time that morning and gave him a bath for me before I went to go pick up Bud later that day! Jerry is literally so amazing and I will definitely book with him again in the future!”

“Jessica & Kevin were fantastic! My dog came home super tired after playing with their dog all day. I Couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my pup. 10 out of 10 recommended and will definitely be using again.”

“Valerie was wonderful with my pup. She sent updates and kept me informed as to how my pup did while he was with her. Her home and yard were safe and appropriate for pet sitting. I am very thankful that we found her to care for our boy.”

About: I grew up having cats and reptiles but I've always wanted a dog to have around. I want to experience what it would be like to have a dog so I can finally own one of my own one day. I love animals I wanted to become a vet when I was younger. I have a tortoise right now which is a good pet because they can live very long. I want to eventually own a farm and raise farm animal's when I get older. I use to also own fish and have a gecko as well. My children also take to animal's very well because they are kind and gentle souls like me. I want to provide an excellent service to anyone that needs it.
About: I have always had either a cat or dog. I recently had to say goodbye to our cat and lost my dachshund about 2 years ago. My son and I are not ready to get another pet of our own but, we would like to take care of your pet as we would our own. I have always been the "go to" trusted person for many of my friends for pet sitting. I enjoy being active and outdoors as much as possible. I usually go for a walk or run first thing in the morning and would love to have a buddy for that. I am also open to dogs that are older and need some extra time and attention. My Daschund had seizures for the last couple years of life so, I have experience with some senior dog issues. I work from home every day so, I can spend a lot of time with your pet. My schedule is very flexible so, I can scheduled in walk(s) and potty breaks throughout the day for in home and care at my home. I live in a very safe townhouse community with an ideal low traffic area for walks. I live very close to several parks. I have a screened in back porch and a small fenced in yard with grass. I am flexible and willing to do works best to keep your pet safe and happy.

About: Hailing from an animal loving family, I've taken care of both dogs and cats since I was a very young child. I've worked with small and large, young and old, male and female, loud ones, quiet ones lol, playful, not so playful haha. I have one current furchild and best child, Sunny, who is very friendly and outgoing with all walks of life. I'm a freelance photographer with a flexible schedule. During the summer I work some local farmers markets but most of the time I am home hanging with Sunny, going on an adventure with him, or doing a photo shoot either in my home studio or on location in the area. Bonus, I can take a professional photo of your baby in my home studio! I have a huge fenced in backyard perfect for zoomies and playing and my neighborhood, in general, is extremely dog friendly with plenty of walking trails. With your consent, I'm also happy to take your pup to the beach, for a pup cup, to the dog park, or any other suitable adventure. I have two large crates if needed and treats, toys, and balls galore.
“Jordan was an absolute delight! She has great communication skills and a lovely personality to match. She’s also accommodating and great at keeping us updated with photos/videos and text messages. My dogs love her, her boyfriend, and her sweet puppy, Theo. I would most definitely recommend. 10/10.”

About: We are home majority of the time as I work from home so your pup won’t be left alone much! All of our family lives in town so we also are right here for Holiday’s. We do prefer low to medium energy dogs as a high energy pup can be difficult with a toddler. **PLEASE NOTE** Pets must have a record of ZERO aggression with a dog and/or human. If there is any concern your pet will harm my son, we are unfortunately, not the right pet sitters for you. We are extreme dog lovers! I don’t think I’ve gone more than 2 months in my life without a dog. My son has grown up with a lab and golden retriever. He is just as in love with dogs as I am ♥️ Pets must also be up to date on flea/tick prevention. We have a townhome sized fenced in backyard. It is on the small side but enough to explore & play ball. We also take plenty of walks around the neighborhood!
“Murphy came home exhausted after a full day of playing in the snowy backyard with Andrea’s dogs and the others she was watching for the day. He was a stinky, sleepy, happy pup! She was flexible and easy going, considering our change in pickup/dropoff times due to the snow and traffic. I will definitely use her again.”

“Our pup had a great day with Julia! We loved all of the pictures and updates and felt that he was safe and happy in her care. We will definitely bring him back here!”

About: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. While I don't currently have pets at my apartment where I'll be pet sitting, my family has five dogs, so I'm very familiar with caring for multiple dogs with different personalities, energy levels, and routines. I volunteered with a local animal rescue throughout all four years of high school, where I cared for dogs of all ages and temperaments by walking, feeding, socializing, and helping them feel safe and comfortable while they waited to find their forever homes. During that time, I also served as a foster, providing temporary homes for rescue dogs and helping them adjust to a loving environment. These experiences taught me patience, responsibility, and how to build trust with animals. In college, I served as the Treasurer for UNCW's Service Dog Training and Education Program (STEP) for two years. While I'm not a professional dog trainer, my involvement with the organization gave me valuable experience working alongside service dogs and handlers. I'm happy to reinforce basic training, good manners, and routines while your pet is in my care. One thing that sets me apart is that I work from home, which means your pet will receive plenty of attention and companionship throughout the day. They'll rarely be left alone, and I'll be able to stick closely to their normal routine, whether that means regular potty breaks, playtime, walks, or simply having someone nearby to keep them company. I understand that every pet is unique, and my goal is to make them feel safe, loved, and right at home while you're away. I'll care for your pet as if they were one of my own and will always keep you updated with photos and messages so you can enjoy complete peace of mind. Because I work from home, pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I'm able to provide plenty of attention, companionship, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and supervised care throughout the day. Your pet won't be left alone for long periods, and I can easily accommodate their normal schedule to help them feel comfortable and at ease. My schedule is flexible, allowing me to provide morning, afternoon, and evening care. Whether your pet needs an active day filled with walks and play or simply a calm, cozy environment with lots of love and attention, I'm happy to tailor my care to their individual needs. Your pet's safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet's routine, preferences, and any special instructions so I can provide care that's as close to home as possible. Because I work from home, I'll be with your pet for most of the day to provide supervision, companionship, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and plenty of affection. I live in a clean, pet-friendly apartment where your pet will have a safe, calm environment to relax and feel at home. I'll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy and well cared for. I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your furry family member, and I'll treat your pet with the same love and attention I'd give my own.
“Cara got some very good exposure to calm larger dogs and it was a positive experience! A nice walk at Long Leaf Park with Buddy was a great thing for her to do. Thank you Allie!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Arrowhead
Our 10 year old big dog was well cared for the day while we went out to eat and visited the art museum. Valerie is professional, friendly and knows dogs. She asked questions about our dog's specific needs. He enjoyed hanging out in the backyard to sniff around and took a nap inside their home just like he does at our home so I'm sure he felt quite comfortable. Highly recommend.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
