“Stari was so patient with our little puppy that had separation anxiety for awhile after we left. Sounds like when he settled down he enjoyed cuddling with her a lot the rest of the day. He was happy and in a great mood when we picked him up. Stari also was excellent at commication both before and during his stay. Really great experience, would highly recommend Stari!”

About: With over 9 years of experience, I’ve worked with all kinds of pets—from puppies and older dogs to cats, rodents, and even birds. I’m skilled in administering medications and providing personalized care, no matter the breed or age. Growing up with a variety of animals, I’ve developed a deep understanding of their needs. My patience, knowledge, and love for all animals set me apart, ensuring your pets are not only cared for but truly comforted. Pet care is my top priority, and I’m available almost full-time to meet your needs. I’m only busy two days a week, so the rest of my time is dedicated to providing focused, attentive care for your pets. With a flexible schedule, I’m ready to ensure your pets are well-cared for whenever you need! Most of my services are provided in my clients’ homes, where pets are comfortable in their own space. I offer drop-ins and dog walks, ensuring pets get the attention and exercise they need. While I don’t have a yard, I live in a pet-friendly community with great walking spots, and I’ll take dogs out every 1-2 hours for bathroom breaks and exercise. For boarding, I’d follow the same routine, offering regular walks and playtime. If clients have a fenced yard, I make full use of that space for outdoor activities and fun.

“Stella helped me out by being super accommodating! I needed to make a day trip and she was available early and said don’t stress getting back. Jack got to play with several new dogs aka his favorite thing to do :)”

About: Hello! My name is Allison (but I go by Sonny 😊) and I have 6 years of experience working professionally with animals. I began my journey in the pet care industry in 2016 doing pet sitting and dog walking before moving onto my career working at Petco in 2017. I started out doing animal care for the small animals, reptiles, fish and adoptable cats. In 2018 I found my passion when I became a certified Positive Reinforcement Dog trainer and have been training ever since while continuing to do pet sitting and dog walking on the side. I am excited to use the skills and expertise I’ve learned to make your pet feel as happy and cared for as possible! I am available to do drop in visits for your pet where I can take them out for a potty break, feed them, play with them, and administer medication or bathe them if necessary. I am also available for standard dog walking with 30 or 60 minute time slots. If you are interested in dog training or doing training walks with your dog please reach out for further scheduling and rates! I am committed to pet care full time and am available for you and your pet anytime during the week and weekend for any services you may need! I have many years of training and experience in how to properly care for animals in the most kindest way possible. In my experience as a Dog trainer I have acquired the ability to expertly assess animals body language and respond in whichever way helps make them feel most at ease and heard. I have worked with dogs as small as 3lbs and as big as 200lbs as well as animals with special needs. I have experience in administering medication to dogs, cats, reptiles and other various small animals such as guinea pigs and hamsters. Working with animals is my passion in life and I am fully committed to giving you and your pet a fun, positive and safe experience!

“I was so happy to find Paulina after my last Tahoe Rover friend left the area! It can be difficult to find someone without a dog themselves, and my dog LOVES people but is dog selective so we prefer her to be the only pet staying. Paulina thank you for being super flexible and having great communication and response time. Bella came back tired and happy. I will definitely be reaching out for more stays this winter and am looking forward to having you watch Bella again this weekend!”

“Lucy was awesome. She sent me pictures so I could see how echo was doing and kept an eye on him. I was a little disappointed that he wasn't happier to see me when I came to pick him up lol but I guess that's a good thing XD he seemed to have had a great time. She was very welcoming and her dog is super friendly. 10/10 I would highly recommend her and if I'm in need of a dog sitter again I will definitely be sending her a message.”

About: Hi, I’m Virgo (formerly Jeremy)! I’ve been dog sitting my friends’ dogs for about 10yrs, and working for a dog trainer for about 2yrs. (My parents tell me I’ve loved dogs my whole life, but I can only partly confirm.) A few things I like about dog sitting is discovering their personalities and learning how to interprete and anticipate their needs. I’m not intimidated by high-energy/high-intelligence dogs either! I like the challenge of keeping up with them. It also tricks me into staying active and feels less ridiculous than Zumba. 🤷🏽♂️ If there’s anything else you wanna know just ask? Uhh, this thing says I’ve gotta write 50 more words to move on so I’m just gonna keep typing stuff until the limit runs out I guess? I’m a substitute teacher, so my schedule is highly flexible! I try not to schedule subbing jobs during engagements, but they overlap seamlessly when it does happen. I live alone with a fully enclosed backyard and space for a crate if needed! I prefer to sit in the pet’s home though because I like to keep your pet’s routine and environment familiar to make them most comfortable!

About: I own a 7 acre property that is a short drive up Fickle Hill Rd in Arcata! It includes a private trail with access to the community forest and a very large fenced in yard. I have a 1 year old female German Shepherd (Sabine) who is very well trained and LOVES to play with other dogs. I’ve been working with animals my entire life but started officially dog sitting and walking about 10 years ago! I’ve worked with dogs of all sizes and personalities and feel comfortable and confident in my care abilities. Locally I have done in home care both long term and short term. Now that I have this large property I would like to do more of a doggy day care! I am capable of providing training, grooming, as well as daily exercise and enrichment activities! I am free Monday - Thursday every week as I work from home as a ceramic artist. On the weekends (Friday - Sunday) I work as a waitress. I offer care from my home where I have a very large fenced in yard with plenty of space to run around and enjoy the outdoors. As well as a large dog friendly home for those rainy days. All plants and trees on the property are dog safe! I also have a private trail that is connected to the community forest trails where I take Sabine (my dog) for daily walks. Sabine also loves the beach so we do take weekly trips out to the dunes in Samoa! I’m a dog lover and feel that I am very attuned to understanding the way they communicate. Your dog will look forward to playing around the property and spending time in the forest with Sabine and I!

“Miss Sonny has the strongest ability to communicate with dogs I’ve ever seen. She’s a pro at reading and responding to their cues, tons I never noticed before she taught me. My once extremely anxious dog blossomed once listened and spoken to “in her own language.” Miss Sonny is friendly, patient, and loving with her dog friends and parents alike. It’s obvious she loves what she does, and my dog absolutely loves training with her. All the wiggles and thumbs up in the world for Miss Sonny from me and my happy and capable pup Miss Ellie May :-)”

Anne J.
“Anne has taken care of our very active and sensitive Border Collie along with our two cats and sizable garden. She follows all of my care instructions beautifully, including a specialized diet for our dog. The garden is thriving when we arrive home and the animals are happy. She often sends photos of the animals which is a nice comforting touch. Knowing Anne is taking great care of our pets and home, allows us to fully enjoy our vacations. She has cared for our animals many times… I’ve lost count how many. I highly recommend her services.”

“Jeremy is by far the best dog/house sitter I have ever had. My dog typically seems depressed when I get home from vacation, although after Jeremy watches her it’s as though I never left. He is quick to respond if I have any questions regarding my pup and always leaves my house cleaner than I left it. He has sent me photos of her out and about which gives me peace of mind when I’m far away. I highly recommend Jeremy for all your dog sitting/pet needs.”
