“It seems my nervous dog was very comfortable (and even playful!) with Neil, Mariah, and their dog posse. In fact, he couldn’t wait to greet Neil at the door this last trip. I’m very happy to have found them, and it will be a relief to know Linny is in loving hands during future trips.”

About: I provide dependable, hands-on care for all animals from energetic dogs and cats to large livestock ensuring their health, safety, and comfort through attentive, compassionate service. Pet care fits naturally into my flexible schedule, allowing me to provide consistent, attentive care daily whether feeding, walking, or monitoring animals without compromising reliability or time. I prioritize safety, trust, and a calm environment creating secure spaces where animals feel comfortable, cared for, and relaxed while maintaining reliable, responsible supervision at all times.
“Our dog Mango absolutely loved his time with Sunny. When we arrived to pick him up after our vacation, he was so busy playing that he barely noticed when we arrived. We loved that he was never left alone and that Sunny sent us so many pictures and videos of him playing and enjoying himself. We will absolutely be using this service again!”

“Outstanding care, a True Dog whisperer. Sequoia Humane Society hired Mark to care for Browner an d Odie over the Thanksgiving holiday - Two large dogs! Both are known to struggle with other dogs, including each other. I was honestly preparing for this to simply be a safe, calm stay...what we got was something truly incredible. From the very beginning, Mark asked all the right questions about behavior, needs, routines and safety. It was clear he understood these were not "easy" dogs and approach their care with thoughtfulness, patience and professionalism. I encouraged him to try socializing them only if he felt right about an opportunity. To our complete surprise, Brownie and Odie became best friends almost immediately in his care. This is something we have not been able to achieve in a shelter environment and seeing that transformation was nothing short of amazing. This experience has opened new doors for both dogs and given us real hope for their future success in foster and forever homes. Both dogs had the time of their life in Mark's care. We are grateful for his kindness and opening his home to our animals during Thanksgiving and the day after. As Executive Director of Sequoia Humane Society, I can confidently say I would trust him again and without hesitation recommend him to anyone looking for an exceptional caregiver for your animals...especially dogs!”

“Carter was great! My dog seemed very relaxed when picked her up. Carter has great communication over the rover app and sent the cutest pic of my dog napping comfortably. Also super reasonably priced. If he is available I will definitely use him again next time I need a sitter!”

About: With over 9 years of experience, I’ve worked with all kinds of pets—from puppies and older dogs to cats, rodents, and even birds. I’m skilled in administering medications and providing personalized care, no matter the breed or age. Growing up with a variety of animals, I’ve developed a deep understanding of their needs. My patience, knowledge, and love for all animals set me apart, ensuring your pets are not only cared for but truly comforted. Pet care is my top priority, and I’m available almost full-time to meet your needs. I’m only busy two days a week, so the rest of my time is dedicated to providing focused, attentive care for your pets. With a flexible schedule, I’m ready to ensure your pets are well-cared for whenever you need! Most of my services are provided in my clients’ homes, where pets are comfortable in their own space. I offer drop-ins and dog walks, ensuring pets get the attention and exercise they need. While I don’t have a yard, I live in a pet-friendly community with great walking spots, and I’ll take dogs out every 1-2 hours for bathroom breaks and exercise. For boarding, I’d follow the same routine, offering regular walks and playtime. If clients have a fenced yard, I make full use of that space for outdoor activities and fun.
“Melissa and Alan are super boarding hosts and the “kitty room” is wonderful, with plenty of places to snooze, stretch and scratch. Our little Tink, who hasn’t been away from home in the eight years we’ve had her, came home and picked up right where she left off. That’s a sign of a good boarding service, and a nice, quiet sanctuary! Thanks!”

About: I grew up on a farm since the age of 7. I have experience with animals from horses to rabbits, obviously including cats and dogs. I have house sat for individuals in my hometown many times before. I value being respectful and considerate to your home and your pet. I was in 4-H for most of my youth, and have some general experience regarding veterinarian care for animals. I love hikes and walks, if you're a furry family member is up for it, I'd love to take them along with me. I am available Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at the moment. With availability after 4:00 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday. I am a Geology Major at Cal Poly, so I am currently working around classes. Following care instructions is important first and foremost most. Respecting your home, wishes, as well as your pets boundaries. Being proactive and cautious about the pets I care for is important as I do not know the pet fully. I always keep the home clean, and handle emergencies well. Making sure all of their needs are replenished and cared whether it's at your home or mine.
About: I own a 7 acre property that is a short drive up Fickle Hill Rd in Arcata! It includes a private trail with access to the community forest and a very large fenced in yard. I have a 1 year old female German Shepherd (Sabine) who is very well trained and LOVES to play with other dogs. I’ve been working with animals my entire life but started officially dog sitting and walking about 10 years ago! I’ve worked with dogs of all sizes and personalities and feel comfortable and confident in my care abilities. Locally I have done in home care both long term and short term. Now that I have this large property I would like to do more of a doggy day care! I am capable of providing training, grooming, as well as daily exercise and enrichment activities! I am free Monday - Thursday every week as I work from home as a ceramic artist. On the weekends (Friday - Sunday) I work as a waitress. I offer care from my home where I have a very large fenced in yard with plenty of space to run around and enjoy the outdoors. As well as a large dog friendly home for those rainy days. All plants and trees on the property are dog safe! I also have a private trail that is connected to the community forest trails where I take Sabine (my dog) for daily walks. Sabine also loves the beach so we do take weekly trips out to the dunes in Samoa! I’m a dog lover and feel that I am very attuned to understanding the way they communicate. Your dog will look forward to playing around the property and spending time in the forest with Sabine and I!
“We are new to the community and needed our first boarding with someone. We quickly selected Kristina for a meet and greet when another home boarder cancelled on us last minute. She was available. Fate did us a favor. Kristina and our pup seemed to be a match and we brought our boy back a few days later. For the weekend, she gave our pup all the love and attention we would have given ourselves. We received photo and video updates. It was so nice to feel comfortable leaving our little guy. Now we have our go-to for day care and home boarding. Thank you, Kristina.”
