About: Hi, I’m Virgo (formerly Jeremy)! I’ve been dog sitting my friends’ dogs for about 10yrs, and working for a dog trainer for about 2yrs. (My parents tell me I’ve loved dogs my whole life, but I can only partly confirm.) A few things I like about dog sitting is discovering their personalities and learning how to interprete and anticipate their needs. I’m not intimidated by high-energy/high-intelligence dogs either! I like the challenge of keeping up with them. It also tricks me into staying active and feels less ridiculous than Zumba. 🤷🏽‍♂️ If there’s anything else you wanna know just ask? Uhh, this thing says I’ve gotta write 50 more words to move on so I’m just gonna keep typing stuff until the limit runs out I guess? I’m a substitute teacher, so my schedule is highly flexible! I try not to schedule subbing jobs during engagements, but they overlap seamlessly when it does happen. I live alone with a fully enclosed backyard and space for a crate if needed! I prefer to sit in the pet’s home though because I like to keep your pet’s routine and environment familiar to make them most comfortable!

About: I have experience with dogs and cats, young and old, easy and "difficult". I am very adept at walking and caring for reactive dogs who can have a hard time with other dogs and/or humans, and do my best to avoid any situations that can trigger reactive behaviors. I'm also happy to help keep up any training routines, I'm pretty proficient in general dog training, but I know it always comes down to the individual dogs for what works best. I often have people remark about their pets who usually don't warm up to new people immediately taking a liking to me! I'm also totally respectful of animals who do need time to get to know new people and always meet them where they're at, so more than welcome to accommodate those who need more introduction time. I've had dogs in the family my whole life, and have lived with many cats as roommates, and I've loved them all. I've done extensive house sitting everywhere from big cities to rural areas, for periods of time as long as two months, caring for animals as well as the house and surrounding property. My schedule is very flexible so I can make sure I have plenty of time to give my full attention to your animal friends, I live in a sweet quiet neighborhood in Arcata near the bottoms that's great for regular walks, and I have a car and am happy to take pups out on more special adventures too! I always check in about what's best for each dog, and can tailor care around what their usual schedule is with walks and feeding, what kinds of play they like best, and any training routines I can help reinforce during our time together. I make sure to take extra care with reactive dogs and avoid any situations that may trigger them as best as possible.

I offer drop-ins and dog walks, ensuring pets get the attention and exercise they need. While I don’t have a yard, I live in a pet-friendly community with great walking spots, and I’ll take dogs out every 1-2 hours for bathroom breaks and exercise. For boarding, I’d follow the same routine, offering regular walks and playtime. If clients have a fenced yard, I make full use of that space for outdoor activities and fun.

About: I own a 7 acre property that is a short drive up Fickle Hill Rd in Arcata! It includes a private trail with access to the community forest and a very large fenced in yard. I have a 1 year old female German Shepherd (Sabine) who is very well trained and LOVES to play with other dogs. I’ve been working with animals my entire life but started officially dog sitting and walking about 10 years ago! I’ve worked with dogs of all sizes and personalities and feel comfortable and confident in my care abilities. Locally I have done in home care both long term and short term. Now that I have this large property I would like to do more of a doggy day care! I am capable of providing training, grooming, as well as daily exercise and enrichment activities! I am free Monday - Thursday every week as I work from home as a ceramic artist. On the weekends (Friday - Sunday) I work as a waitress. I offer care from my home where I have a very large fenced in yard with plenty of space to run around and enjoy the outdoors. As well as a large dog friendly home for those rainy days. All plants and trees on the property are dog safe! I also have a private trail that is connected to the community forest trails where I take Sabine (my dog) for daily walks. Sabine also loves the beach so we do take weekly trips out to the dunes in Samoa! I’m a dog lover and feel that I am very attuned to understanding the way they communicate. Your dog will look forward to playing around the property and spending time in the forest with Sabine and I!

About: I’m a Lauren Wendt’s wife and will be available to work with her clients when she is away for field work. Her clients can expect the same level of care and comfort with me. I am only available to sub for her. I mostly work from home, and when covering for Lauren I will be available all day, except during times when I can coaching at the university (Monday evenings and Saturday afternoons). Our home is very large, with multiple rooms and kennels to give dogs private safe spaces as well as communal time. We also have. Very large fenced yard, and dogs will be supervised in the yard.

About: I've had large dogs since 1997. Currently I have 2 amazing dogs. A 3 legged great burnese, and a 1.2yr old burnese Mt. Dog. They are sweet and wonderful dogs with great manners and are super dog friendly. I also have 2 cats. Rick and Morty. They are a pair. Also very sweet and affectionate once they know you. They are indoor/outdoor 24/7 but avoid dogs. The love of my furry friends reflects who I am. I have 5 acres. This allows my dogs to mostly roam free as they stay close to home. It gives other dogs the opportunity to have a place to run around and play with other good dogs. There are also multiple leads amongst the property, as well as a gated and covered outside area if your pet isn't used to either of those situations. I spend almost all of my days working from home. So other than the occasional errand, I'm home. Otherwise, I exist for you and yours. My pets have water and food at all times. It's under a covered area so they are able to stay in the shade if they like. Otherwise my dogs are free to roam as they generally stay on the property. My property is not fenced. However with this undertaking dogs can be placed in the covered area when needed. They can be leaded if that's what you want. As well they are welcome in the house at any time. Your pets are free to relax anywhere they like. My dogs are very sweet and friendly. My 3 legged dog is not one to get to excited as he only has 3 legs. For the right dogs, my property is a paradise.

About: I have lots of experience with animals, from working at humane societies to later as a vet tech. I have always had a dog of my own and more recently adopted two cats. I currently work for a public school and soon will be on summer break. I am looking for small jobs that I can do while off work from my primary job. I will follow explicit instructions on how you want your critters to be cared for. I will make sure they are safe and comfortable by ensuring that they have everything they need such as any food or water left out for them.

About: Since I was old enough to pull myself up by the hindquarters of the family dog, I have shared a special connection with animals. Well versed in the needs of our furry friends, no pet is too much for my care. Experienced in special need care for animals - including but not limited to insulin administration. I also have formal training as an assistant vet tech and have volunteered at the ASPCA for years. Since I am currently self-employed with reliable transportation, my schedule is extremely flexible. I have two dogs and two cats that I care for daily, but they are low maintenance and do not require much time. Boarding will be done on 5.5 acres in Freshwater, set back in the woods with plenty of land for your fur-baby to roam free. We have gated, open top areas as well as a temperature controlled garage set up if your pet needs isolation or time away from the other animals. When walking, during drop-in visits, or on overnight stays in your home, I will adhere to all requests and ensure your furbaby enjoys themselves in your absence!

About: I’ve had animals since I was a kid and have fostered numerous pets (mostly cats). I have accommodations for dogs and cats with safety being my top priority. I only work 2-3 days of the week. The days I watch pets are days they have my full attention. If they are active pets, playtime, parks, and hikes it is! If they are more mellow, then binge watching TV and cuddles is the name of the game. I have a fully fenced back yard with a dog house and runner line if a dog is a known escape artist. I have doggy gates and a sectioned off area for cats security and privacy.

About: I have always been an animal lover. Since my teenage years we had dogs and cats in the house. Over the last 17 years I have lived with and cared for 2 dogs and two cats. Sadly 3 of them have passed on at this point, and It's just myself and my 12 yr old husky mix Suki now. I am only employed on a very part time basis, so I have a fairly open and flexible schedule for dog walking, home visits and boarding on most weekdays, and some weekends. I have a fenced back yard perfect for pets to hang out in, and there is also a covered area in the back yard if the weather is rainy. I would also allow them inside the house, but not on furniture :). I am a very active person, I walk my own dog at least twice a day, and would be happy to walk even more with yours!

About: I genuinely just love animals so much, which is why I decided to join rover! I’ve taken care of dogs my whole life and volunteered many hours at my local humane society. I am very responsible and attentive, I will keep your animals safe and happy! I have a dog of my own who is a social kween when it comes to dogs, kids, and pretty much every person she ever meets! My dogs name is tuna, she is a sweet pug. Tuna and I spend most of our days outside adventuring, so hopefully we can meet some new friends! I have some animal medical knowledge under my belt as well, my close friend is a veterinarian. I’m hoping to have a career that involves animals so this is a great start for me! I also love cats! :)
