About: I have enjoyed helping my parents and neighbors with animal and house sitting over the years and managed anywhere from 1 - 2 independent pets up to 5 pets at a time (dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, reptiles). I am currently a part-time student looking to extend my animal care experiences to pets in your home. I specialised in animal behavior while studying neuroscience at the Claremont Colleges and will be very attentive to your animals needs in my care. I also have experience administering topical/oral medications as scheduled. I am continuing my education part-time and available to help mostly afternoons. Please contact me 1-2 weeks in advance for HOUSE STAYS otherwise I am flexible to assist with regular potty breaks, walks, feeding, etc. with 1-2 days notice. When caring for animals in clients homes I will be sure to follow any set guidelines or recommendations provided to me. I enjoy meeting animals energy levels with exercise (walks, outdoor play), toys, training reinforcement, or simply good pets. I will be respectful of you and your animal's space to reduce stress and encourage normal/beneficial behaviors.

“Grace was amazing. She came to meet me and Priya before my vacation, coordinated with another friend to be there when Priya was getting dropped off, was super responsive, and sent a ton of pictures. I'm confident Priya has a great time while I was out of town!!”

“Nora was absolutely fantastic! She stayed in our home for a week and took care of both our pup and home so well. We had a lot of specific requests and she went above and beyond meeting all of them. She was incredibly trustworthy and caring. She communicated frequently and sent lots of good update pics of our pup. I hope she will stay with our pup again in the future! If Nora is available, book her quick!”

“I almost don’t want to tell you how phenomenal Denise was because I want her all to myself. :) She was loving, communicative, and responsive. Cannot say enough good things about her.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and had my own dogs since I was two years old. I often am asked to pet sit for my friends and neighbors animals. I am extremely patient and kind. Currently a college student with lots of free time. I am available almost any day and any night. I have lots of availability and time. I am in an area with lots of trails and areas for walks. I am within walking distance of a park. My house is clean and pet safe!

“Jonathan was awesome! He took great care of our dogs while we had a fun weekend in Tahoe. He took incredible pictures and updated us frequently. The dogs were instantly comfortable with him and snuggled right in. They went for plenty of walks and the dogs were happy and tired when we returned home. Jonathan was really great about asking questions and following special instructions for our dog Otis, as he is recovering from TPLO surgery. The house was also quite clean and orderly upon our return. I will definitely be asking Jonathan to come hang out with our dogs again!”

“Lisa was so great with Luna boy! We are grateful for her communication, pictures, kindness and reliability. We can tell Luna enjoyed her. Would definitely recommend and use Lisa again to watch our pups! :)”

“Heidi was amazing with my two pups. My dogs are a lot of work and she took the challenge with grace and knowledge. She is trustworthy and was great at communicating updates while I was away. 1000% recommend her!!”

“Celeste took absolutely fantastic care of my dog and cat, sent lots of pictures and updates. Rate was reasonable and care was top tier. My house looked the same or better as I left it and I will definitely try to book Celeste next time I need pet/house sitting. Highly highly recommended!”

“Dylan was awesome! Very communicative, caring and conscientious. We left Dylan with an old, sickly kitty, with multiple meds and they handled all her needs reliably, along with the 3 other furry pets and a fishtank. When we arrived home, everyone was relaxed and unstressed. We have already rebooked!”

“Rose is so amazing!! We are so thankful to have found such a loving sitter for our babies. We always feel good when we have Rose sitting for us and know that our dogs are in the very best care.”

“We are SO grateful for Marley! She truly saved our trip to Santa Cruz. The hotel had strict pet policies, and we found ourselves in need of a last-minute dog sitter—and Marley came through in the best way possible. Our dog Teddy is usually very skittish and shy around new people, but Marley was so calm, kind, and patient with him. She took her time, made him feel safe, and before we knew it, he was completely comfortable with her and went on serval walks through the day! It was such a relief knowing he was in caring, capable hands. Look forward to using her service again! Thanks again! Marley went above and beyond our expectations—we were able to enjoy our trip without worry, and Teddy was in great hands the entire time. Highly, highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate dog sitter!”

About: I have had the privilege of caring for puppy dogs and senior dogs, little dogs and extra large dogs, mutts and pure breeds. I've cared for puppies who are not potty trained; a Newfoundland with bad hips; a German Shorthair Pointer who loved to fetch at the beach for hours and hours; a 20 lb terrier with separation issues; high energy Spaniels who camped out in the kitchen with hopes of treats; an otherwise perfect 70lb mutt who turned out to be a muffin thief; a senior Aussie with dementia and digestive issues; my senior pup with a bad back, partially deaf and diminished vision and many more characters who have taken up residence in my heart. I am experienced administering medication, changing diapers, cleaning up poo, preparing special diets, taking long walks or short; brushing and nail trimming (dog willing); playing fetch; snuggling and petting, baking healthy homemade treats. I only do boarding and overnight care in the client's home on my days off from my part time job. So the only time I am not with your pet is to run errands, rarely more than two hours at a time. Doggie Day Care rate is for 6 hours. Additional time is billed in 30 minute increments at the rate of $6 per 30 minutes. The clock starts at the earliest listed time for drop off and ends at the latest listed time for pick up. Example: Client lists a drop off time between 9am - 11am. The day care clock starts at 9am. I have a dog friendly home ( and my senior dog for company) with a large fenced back yard. Dogs have access to the back yard at all times. For overnights the dogs sleep in their dog beds anywhere in the house that they are comfortable. Otherwise I follow the dogs regular routine. In the client's home I follow the dogs regular sleep, wake, feeding, exercise and play routine.

“We had a trip planned to go out of the country and wanted the best sitters we had worked with to watch our house and our dogs while we were away. Claire and Dillon went way out of their way to accommodate us and even helped water my garden. Our trip was perfect and made more so knowing that our house and our dogs were in good hands.”

About: Hi! I’m Shawna — Unlike a regular dog walker, I provide one hour structured walk/runs to safely burn excess energy and reinforce calm leash behavior — ideal for high-drive dogs. I specialize in structured walks (working with dogs that pull the leash) and 2+ mile minimum walk/runs to help dogs burn energy and feel calm. I’ve trained everything from mellow labs to my current reactive cattle dog, so I’m comfortable with strong-willed or high-energy pups. Whether your dog needs a peaceful walk, consistent leash guidance, or a good run, I bring calm, confident energy and real experience. Let me help your dog stay happy, tired, and well-exercised. A tired dog is a happy dog. Caring for animals is already a part of my everyday life. I have a well-trained but high-energy cattle dog of my own, so daily walks, playtime, and structure are built into my routine. I’m also a runner, so exercising dogs through long walks or runs fits naturally into my schedule — it’s something I genuinely enjoy. I plan my days around being active and outside, which makes it easy for me to give pets the time, attention, and movement they need I’m happy to care for pets in their own familiar environment. I follow your pet’s routine closely, making sure they get the right balance of exercise, structure, and affection. I’ll respect your space, keep things clean, and communicate clearly while you’re away. I always aim to make your pet feel safe, loved, and calm while you’re gone — and make the transition as stress-free as possible for both of you

About: I am attending school at UCSC for legal studies and have a robust knowledge of dog parks, dog-friendly beaches and trails from Santa Cruz to the City! If you’d like to socialise your dog, you’re in luck because I have a 10-month-old baby 🐾 of my own. We have tons of doggo friends for your pooch to meet if you choose, and no matter what, your dog is getting top-tier handling and care when you trust working with me! If there are behaviours you’d like to work on or would like me to be aware of, please do not hesitate to reach out, and we can discuss them further. I am available for full time pet care and when school resumes come the New Year, I will be available part time + still available to board if needed. There has not been an hour where I have not been in the company of 1 or more dogs since June 2024 I have a fenced yard for the dogs to go potty and run uninhibited. I have a small scale toy operation which means the dogs will have plenty to keep them occupied and if he/she would like to go home with their favourites, we can arrange for that too. I am capable of pickup and drop off as well as supervised visits to the park, creeks, the beach, trails, etc.

“Julia is Pawsome! She doesn’t think of it as pet-sitting - she cares for every animal like they are hers. Dare I say it? Sometimes I wonder if Stormie likes her more than his own pet parent. If you’re looking for someone who will care for your dog just as much as you do, Julia is the one.”

Aptos pet parents share their Rover experiences
We had a trip planned to go out of the country and wanted the best sitters we had worked with to watch our house and our dogs while we were away. Claire and Dillon went way out of their way to accommodate us and even helped water my garden. Our trip was perfect and made more so knowing that our house and our dogs were in good hands.

Dayanara is an excellent dog and house sitter and kept our dog Loba happy and healthy during our trip. We received daily updates on how Loba was doing and returned to our house to find everything just as we left it. We'd highly recommend Dayanara to others looking for dog/house sitting!

Emilie is a great dog/house sitter! She got back to us right away about setting up a meet & greet, as well as letting us know how our dog Bella was doing when we were away. Bella was very at ease when we got back from our trip, we could tell Emilie had given her a lot of attention and exercise when we were gone. Emilie followed all of our instructions about Bella and our house. She left our place clean and neat. We will definitely be requesting Emilie again for future dog sitting!

Payton took care of my dog Mocha for an extended period of time while I went abroad to get married at my apartment. He was very good at communicating on time, sending pictures/videos, and took care of Mocha's special instructions (she's a high anxiety/reactive dog). We came back to a happy and healthy dog excited to see us again, but I can also tell that she developed a bond with Payton. Would definitely hire him again!

Hailey was so wonderful! It's a strange thing to invite someone you don't know to stay in your home and take care of your favorite little beings. But Hailey made the effort to come meet me and my pets ahead of time. She was very communicative and gave my dogs all the love they normally get. Hailey also left the house in better condition than when I left! I'm positive my dogs had a way better experience than they would have had in a boarding facility.

Nora was absolutely fantastic! If Nora is available, book her quick!

Rachel was amazing! She did an incredible job house sitting and watching over Sunny. She was so responsive and left our home super tidy. It is clear that our Sunny loooves her and they had a great time together. I am so grateful we found her and she is highly recommended!

Gabriele was an angel in a last minute stressful Petsitter search. She was perfect for our 14 yr old dog and 2 cats. Excellent communicator. She even stayed till 1 am due to our late flight arrival and we came home to a very clean home. So grateful she was available to stay with our fur babies for 1 week.
